@@DaveRotary Not exactly, the song is about the confrontation between Armstrong and Raiden, but the song is from Raiden's point of view, being directed towards Armstrong, contrary to what the other boss songs tell: how they feel. For example, in "The Only Thing I Know For Real", the song is about Sam, but solely and exclusively about him and how he feels, and "It Has To Be This Way", is sung from Raiden's point of view, but it doesn't talk about how Raiden feels, it talks about how equals Armstrong and Raiden are, accepting that no matter how different they seem, they are the same. In summary: The song is not about Raiden, it raises the equality between the latter and Armstrong, showing that they are the same. Edit: I was thinking for a while (even at the time of writing this) that the song is actually from Armstrong's point of view and not Raiden's, because the song speaks in the present, for example: "You are just like me" (I thought it was "were", perhaps like many, but no, since on Spotify, Jimmy Gneeco provided the official lyrics, and even though Jamie Christopherson's is different, Jimmy Gneeco was the one who sang it). Later, the song gets to the part where te line "I've carved my own path" appears, and since the song is in the present tense, maybe Armstrong said this. "You followed your wrath" could refer to Raiden saying before the fight that his sword is a tool of justice, not used in anger or vengeance, but now he's not so sure. At the end of the fight, Armstrong names Raiden his successor, and tells him to carve his own path (not that he carved it) and use whatever methods he sees fit, because Armstrong did the same, and by designating Raiden as his successor, wants he to do that. (Sorry for so much text lol)
Greatest mix of this song I've ever heard in my life, you brought to life the feelings within the song and moment itself, the whirlwind of emotion. You are a genius.

... I once said my sword is a tool for justice ... but that's just is ... a tool a means to a end and besides this is my sword - looks up - say what you want and I don't care if I deny my blade purpose ... I'm the one who standing here and I'll be the one who let history decided who is in the right Armstrong
But Whose To Judge The Right From Wrong?... When Our Guards Are Down I Think We'll Both Agree... I've Carved My Own Path.. You've Followed Your Wrath.. But Maybe We're Both The Same.. The World Has Turned.. And So Many Have Burned.. But Nobody Is To Blameee.. Yet Staring Across This Barren Wasted Land... I Feel New Life Will Be Born.. BENEATH THE BLOOD STAINED SANNNNDD... BENEATH THE BLOOD STAINED SANNNNDD!!!!!... Absolutely Poetic About The Stands Of Them Before The Battle That Would SHAKE THE EARTH TO ITS CORE!!!
You know...I could see this being the mix used when Raiden is on the path Big Boss was on...though without becoming the villain this time. He's now fighting the war economy on his own terms...meaning he'll have plenty of enemies. The mix would play during a climactic boss when Raiden is reminiscing on when he decided to carry on Armstrong's goal in his own way. That battle would decide the fate of not only the world, but the war economy as well. Who the boss will be? Well...that's up for discussion.
