Ultraviews long awaited release of a thumb button release. They hit it out of the park with this one. Building it off the same chassis as the Hinge 2. This is the thumb button for the archer who already shoots the Hinge 2 and wants to add a thumb release that feels exactly the same, or just wants a badass thumb button release. This is it! It's crisp, comfortable, and packs a load of other amazing features.

Great video JC!! I am going to copy and paste my reply on AT this am below regarding my H2's and UV Button. I received mine a few days ago also. I bought the stainless. I also own four H2's in all different combinations. I am a huge fan of the H2, it fits my hand great and is very comfortable. I do require a slightly lower peep sight height on the UV H1 and UV H2 due to the swept back head/neck design but now I am used to that with all my bows being set up for them. The Button is identical to the H2's for my peep sight height but I guess I am in the minority here and my POI with the UV Button is 1-2" right (I am LH) at 20 yards compared to my H2's. I feel my anchor point is identical between the two but shot POI is not which is a bummer. I almost feel I may need to dedicate one of my bows to just the Button. The stainless is a "beefy" release especially up near the head and hook area. It breaks as nice as the GOAT and as clean as any Stan I have owned. By far the quietest release I have ever owned! I really like the thumb barrel, especially the twisted grooves and all the infinite adjustments. Hopefully I can figure out my POI differences between it and the H2. One thing to add is I checked it through paper and my tear is slightly off too with the Button compared to my H2. Only thing is that I can think of is that I "yield" my H2 and activate it with a relaxed hand, especially in the index/middle finger area. Whereas with the Button I pull through the shot with a tighter index finger/thumb which might cause a slight difference. I may try to "yield" into the Button as I do with the H2 to see what happens.

Great review as always; but I think Ultraview missed the mark on the price on this one...I dont know if they think they are like craft beer or something, but 350 for a release is pretty steep. It looks nice, but i am sticking with my onnex.

I agree it is a hefty price tag. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I like the Onnex line too
@mitchimal
@mitchimal 2 года назад
They're a very small company that aren't able to produce quantities like established brands yet. Just like craft beers, they're small batches. It takes a very long time to have enough capital to build more which then lowers price to consumer. I just had my 5 month old Perfex fail on me and that cost the same as this yet Stan have been around for a lot longer so I'd rather support new companies trying to push the market forward. Just my take

for me the one detail I think they missed is having a larger index finger opening. I hunt up north late season and wear gloves. doesn't appear to be enough room to get a gloved hand in there. For example, I've been shooting the Carter Too Simple because it allows me to shoot with or without a glove depending on weather.
@jeffcordero_
@jeffcordero_ 2 года назад
@@badlandoutdooradventures5473 the size I shoot is the Medium, you could size up to the large and wear a glove and have plenty of room. I don’t typically wear gloves when I shoot because I’m not hunting in sub 40* temps much.

After 3 decades of hunting with an index release (started with Scott like so many others), I developed the bad habit of punching the trigger. While I was still able to make decent enough shots on deer to harvest them, I knew during my practice sessions that I had to make a change. My thumb sustained an injury in football back in my playing days and I now have arthritis in it. Wrist straps aggravate it during backyard practice sessions. I went with the True Ball 4-finger T-rex and found I eliminated this pain and my groups started to shrink using the back tension style surprise release. It hasn't been an easy transition and I'm still getting used to it. I just recently purchased the UV Button release and I must say it has won me over and sidelined the T-rex for now. The oversized button really works for my bad thumb for some reason. Thanks for the solid review. You have good archery form.

Honestly, the high price is totally ridiculous IMO. For now I will stay with my $229.00 Carter Wise Choice. Using this one for a couple of years I can put arrows in the bottom of a paper coffee cup at 60 yards. And for me that works as I’m not shooting animals that far anyway.

Great video Jeff. I just bought a Stan Onnex a month ago, and I really love it. Because you also reviewed the Onnex, I would love to see a video comparing the two? Did I mess up buying the Stan earlier (had no idea UV was releasing a thumb button)?

Video is in the works. Make sure your subbed to receive the notice 😎. No one really did, Ultraview likes to just hype a mystery drop for a week or so then drop and go live with product sales all at the same time. I don’t think anyone knew when they were going to make one but I think we all knew they would drop one of that makes sense

I'm still using an index release. It works fine for me and a lot of prominent archers still use them. I think it's still the best design for western hunting. My question about this button release or any handheld is would it allow me to shoot better or would it make it easier to shoot better? Some say they are better for avoiding target panic. Others say that's not true. What are you all's thoughts?
@jeffcordero_
@jeffcordero_ 2 года назад
I don’t think it’s any better or worse. Like you said. There are still really high level archers that use a wrist release to either shoot target with or to hunt with. I know for me when I switched to a handheld release it helped relieve some shoulder pain I had.
@bobtosi9346
@bobtosi9346 3 месяца назад
For me in particular I started shooting better when I switched to a thumb. Something about the finger that made me punchy. Might have been the fact that my release is cheap. My thumb is cheap but I can control the shot better.

How is it connecting to the D loop… I really like how easy the Carter wise choice is… I want to try this one but in the videos I have seen it almost looks like you have to contort your wrist and or fingers to push the string retention lip down to get it on the D loop
@jeffcordero_
@jeffcordero_ 2 года назад
It stays connected to the Dloop because of the string retainer that touches the hook and closes the loop. That retainer is spring loaded so you just need to slip it past that.
@jdcampbell_6
@jdcampbell_6 2 года назад
@@jeffcordero_ yes, I understand how it works and how it functions… my question is how hard is it to connect to the D loop. Can you do it hands free or do you have to physically push the retainer down to connect it to the d loop.

@@jdcampbell_6 you have to push it onto the dloop. Do it once or twice and it’s second nature, you can just swipe it onto the dloop. I have a Carter wise choice too. I wouldn’t say it’s any more complicated, just different

Awesome video man. Video idea. Do UV hinge 2 and IV button VS Stan ONNEX hinge and button on anchor point and consistency switching back and forth. I have the Stan onnex hinge and button and can anchor and hit the same but the onnex hinge is great but leaves some things to be desired vs the hinge 2
@jeffcordero_
@jeffcordero_ 2 года назад
So just like the Onnex line, the UV Hinge 2 and the button are build on the same chassis. So my anchor is the same, just like the Onnex thumb and Onnex hinge, same anchor. But the Onnex thumb and the Uv Hinge or visa Versa are not the same anchor point because the hook positions and neck lengths are different. I have to slightly tweak my bows to set them up for what release line I’m going to shoot
