Lemon Zest is one of the best mangos you will ever taste, but most people have issues growing them for various reasons. It is possible to have a thriving lemon Zest mango tree. Check it out.
Finally picked up an Orange Sherbet mango tree here in Tempe, AZ. Hope it performs well here. It apparently has LESS of the disease issues that the related Lemon Zest has--though we have less humidity here... Hope it performs ok in our drier climate !
When you come here you will see a tree that was a Maha Chinook that was converted to Lemon Zest with 25 grafts on it. But it was too short a time ago for fruiting. After I graft I wait 3 years before I let fruit develop.
How old are the grafts and what region is the tree located? My LZ is holding fruit for the first time in four years. It has always been a sickly tree. I fed it compost monthly and it seems to have liked it.
Really interesting about the lemon zest & lemon meringue mango trees. Not related to mangos, but a thought: nobody sells coconut water with dragon fruit juice in it that I know of... might be an idea for a biz? Lol, maybe too much work... 😁
