FAQ: Does this work on Bedrock? No. Does this work on Paper/Spigot? I don't know... go try it. Aren't rail placements annoying? No! Make sure to use Mended Minecarts (github.com/2No2Name/MendedMinecarts ) one of the best QoL mods available for carts! I also mention in the video about an issue with carts affecting adjacent slices in the stacker... that was wrong. The issue actually had to do with the sticky piston spitting the slab in front of it.

This is awesome. I've been looking at mass storage systems for a while without picking one but now I'll definitely be putting CartMIS v3 in my favorite world. The ease of access to individual items _and_ shulker boxes alone makes it outstanding, let alone all the rest. I'm on Storage Tech as Norb and you're right - it's among the very best MC Discords, thanks in no small part to you and your co-conspirators.

Having recently built your v2 system is survival with my own additions it is nice to see that V3 does everything mine does but more efficiently and with less failure states. It is a ton of fun figuring out storage tech designs and systems and I will be coming back to V3 when the server my friends and I play on resets in 12 to 18 months.

Just been crawling around my storage (lummie thief one) putting new 1.21 items in, so when I saw the accessible items 😍 Also love the pre-sorting into different wings. Mine is laid out that way, but carts take the whole journey round. If you can mix and match slices (bulk and multi) then I'll be very tempted to switch.

I have a system that can separate a schalker by one type of item and by different types of items. It can be used to load layers of a single item. But this is a very highly specialized application Cool video. I liked the moment at the end where there is an empty space.

Any plan to, or reason not to, add a shulker box autocrafter to the system rather than just a box of empties? Would eliminate the need to use the carpet mod empty shulker box stacking rule which seems like a bonus. And dropping off two shulkers of logs and a shulker of shulker shells would last many times longer than the space there could accommodate with empty unstacked boxes!

Great video! I've been looking into Storage systems for my technical singleplayer world but its been a pain to find the perfect one, while also making sure they work on singleplayer, or if they break if i close the world while is running, which i imagine is the case on most if not all big storage systems. This version has really caught my attention and i might look into building this, some questions i have, asides from the whole breaking thing i mentioned: Are the whitelisters limited to 54 items per hall? In that case, I imagine adding extra whitelisters that point into already assigned halls wouldnt be an issue? Is there a "general switch" that can turn off the storage system? for example, if i have a big amount of items to sort but halfway through i want to stop the process to close my world and continue the next day?

Yes, 54 per hall as it needs a whitelister. You could either add more halls and whitelisters or remove the whitelisters and have carts follow the full path across all halls.

Can we get schematics or a link to fast chest and box unloader? I'm trying to piece the parts together in order to make it suit my needs but can't find the input and unloader components and don't want to try and take them from the full build because I'm scared I'll take too much or too little

I am currently building this is survival and have some trouble with the water placement of the waterlogged chests. Half of the water is supposed to be flowing and half is supposed to be sources (in schematic and world download). I can't get it to work, it either all flows or it all turns to source blocks. Edit: does it matter? Everywhere else in the schematic it is flowing water level 7 just the couple slices in the multi item sorter have half of them as water sources.

Carts are completely deterministic, and carts tend to be more unload resistant due to less redstone components present. Between that and the speed, the only thing i would really consider as a balancing act between types would just be general build effort (which can be solved through mods)

At the 7:00 mark, you said that you need to keep the shulker boxes filled manually. Could you not attach a small shulker farm to it, using crafters, to automatically refill the chest once it detects that one of the areas is empty? That way, you wouldn't have to refill them at all. You could fill a single double chest with chests for the crafters and that would likely be enough for eternity

Why don't you detect the softlocked slice at 6:50 and just check if there are shulkers in chest and if not deactivate the slice and store items somewhere in kinda hidden overflow that will be cleaned as soon as there are shulkers in chest again and then reset the slice and sort overflow back into slice? Ig that would be better than to have the player need to see the light being off and stop system and fill up (what he has to do in V2 too but just not reset or stuff, so there is a general lamp "refill shulkers in Hall 1" or something and then after that's done it automatically resets and fixes itself).

Ah, I'm currently already building a custom config of CartMIS 2 with an unstackable sorter included on my SMP. I have already built everything but the actual MIS slices. Are those new MIS slices a lot more time efficient than the previous ones? I have 144 slices planned and one complete run through of all slices does take over 7 minutes. I might think about switching those out against the new ones if those are much better

There's still a good number of unstackables that can't be sorted. But for everything else you could add more MIS slices, or another hall of hybrid loaders and away you go!
