Homer, your perception of Ewers and your "elite for Quinn, but not when compared to really elite QB/s" is right on the money.

I recommend checking out a fantastic couple of videos breaking down the first half plays then the second half plays in this game, by The Film Guy Network. In these videos he shows all kinds of things that led to this loss, from some clear Texas tendencies (and the Georgia players recognizing them, adjusting for and teeing off on them, all shown in these two films); they show the crazy speed that Georgia played with that nobody else in Texas’ schedule came close to matching; the films show so many tight windows that Quinn could’ve hit, receivers running free but QE checking down instead. They show a lot of the deception that Georgia used, little things like having a player with his shoulders fully forward really selling man coverage hard then after the snap, racing to zone, all kinds of similar stuff. Insightful vids, hopefully this game prepares QE and the rest of the team and coaches in case we meet Georgia again this year. Georgia seemed to have the Texas game plan fully figured out coming into the game, it wouldn’t surprise me if Kirby would pay $250k-$1m to have eyes/ears in the program (a mole) to feed him all the changes and adjustments Texas makes for the rematch. So any changes we make, need to be as close to the vest as possible. Sounds crazy but Kirby is 52-3 and I bet he’d do ANYTHING to keep that record. I don’t trust this player shoving maniac at all. As far-fetched as it sounds, why not protect against it anyways. Look at Michigan’s sign stealing scandal that led to the helmet comms. (insightful Netflix doc on it) It’s big business, a lot at stake, always prep for the worst and hope for the best. I hope Sark comes up with totally new plays that there’s no film on, and also hope he recognizes our tendencies and shows those tendencies deceptively, with trickery, but attached to totally unexpected plays.

Sark’s plan was to run his offense. Uga studied film and they were ready.

I think Homer is 100% correct. Quinn has always had recurring issues with bad footwork, bad pocket management, and tendency to checkdown too quickly. He isn't very mobile or athletic, nor durable, and he has been hurt every year he's played. Sark has designed the office to try and mitigate these issues, but you can only do so much. What IS surprising about his GA performance is how MUCH worse it was than his 2024 "norm". He seemed "bothered" from the very beginning, so it does beg the question of whether his injury (or something else) "triggered" his reversion.

Regarding the corner blitz, Joel Klatt provided some commentary that I thought was pretty insightful. He mentioned that across the many offenses he led in his career, there was always a call (in his case "Cat") that the wide reciever was responsible for making to indicate to the QB/OL a weakside blitz was coming. Idk if Sark indicated if that was the case or if the protection was wrong, but I'm fairly inclined to believe Sark when he says that Quinn isn't as responsible for as much of the ugly parts of the Georgia game as the public believes

Quinn may be "good enough" for us to still win the remaining regular season games, with A&M being the exception. But I truly believe he just isn't skilled/reliable enough, physically and mentally, to win in the playoffs

Can Texas beat Georgia in a rematch?

Wait wait wait. When did the argument turn from Quinn may not be an elite QB to he may lose us a game? Context matters. We aren’t facing another Georgia again. We have a good enough o line, and weapons to beat our remaining SEC opponents. There are still only so many teams that can beat us on talent alone.
