Gogglehead man's name is Varian, he is one of the best characters ever in existence. After this I so wish that the girl was a real, canon character instead of an OC (original character). They are so cute together even though this is the only thing I've seen her in.

In the contrived backstory I made up in my head, they were already friends and she was just having a rough day because the night before she and Varian had worked together on homework for the university while she also baked a pie. Varian loved the pie. The next day (the day of this animatic) she recreated the pie inside and one of the parital owners of the bakery (the ones that handle the buisness and finacials) noticed. He actually loved it so much that he told Becca's (Becca is the girl. Since she doesn't have a canon name, I just call her Becca since she looks like a Rebecca) dad they had to start selling it. Since it's such a particular recipie and they were already behind schedule, Becca's dad gets angry because now they have to make and sell an entirely new product. So she left and went off on the bench, emotionally exhausted, and that's when Varian showed up. He kept talking about the pie because he already knew what it tasted like, from the other night. It made her feel better because she made something really good. Also, I reimagined the choreography so there isn't as much kiss close-calls until the end. This way, for most of the song, he was just talking up the pie, but at the end, after the line "Just one bite caused all that wondering" (which is a pretty accurate representation of how I feel about this ship) when he sang "It only takes a taste" after that, he wasn't talking about the pie anymore cause that's when he was really noticing her. I know that I am way too obsessed with this single fanart and animatic, but I don't care because it is my new favorite and comfort ship.
