Small boy balances an umbrella in order to keep his bag safe from the rain in Cherrapunjee, India. Cherrapunji is noted for having one of the world's highest average annual precipitation levels, about 450 inches. Cherrapunji's climate is classified as warm and temperate. In winter, there is much less rainfall in Cherrapunji than in summer.

Apparently the record amount of rainfall in one year in Cherrapunji was just over 30 feet! So that's just over 2 and a half feet a month.

Wrong i am here for 4 days and it didnt rain for single day that too in august and locals say it doesnt rain here after september till march but this place is mesmerizing beautiful the most natural beauty i saw in india also locals call it sohra instead of cherrapunjee one must visit this place especially offbeat locations are heaven

Years back, we went to Meghalaya n stayed at Cherrapunjee for 3 days. All these days had beautiful sunny weather with cool breeze n spotless blue sky. I dislike rain n thanked God that the place looked so amazing like the Swiss landscapes in summer.

When I visited during August 2010 in cherapunji it was overly hot humid.. Guess rain came afterwards..but Shillong is one small heaven of North eastern india

I'm from Meghalaya, and it does not rain all year 😒😒. It stops in winter unless it's too cloudy it might rain for a day or few minutes for several days. Even in Mawsynram it doesn't rain all year yo. It rains day and night during monsoon season for around 13 days then it stops and rain randomly start then stop and so on until November or maybe October. This video is obviously filmed in June-August

Wrong thumbnail! This place used to received heaviest rainfall in the world, doesn't mean it rains all day throughout the year... Now it shifted. and a nearby village "Mawsynram" receives the heaviest rainfall.
