it saddens me to see that niko let someone who's just not capable of controlling a car thats a bit out of the ordinary take his amazing machine out on such a simply amazing track. relying on mechanical grip is something every average joe driver can do, its understanding the car and balancing it just on that point where it wants to let go is a whole other skill set. oh and btw, car goes where your eyes go. work on that a little bit. good luck with the next video.
I have this car but it is an 85 rx turbo with factory part time all wheel drive. But ya it has an 06 sti motor with a jdm4.44 wrx tranny. It’s the best car ever. So light and quick mine makes 400 hp to the ground. All that car ever needs.
I had 2 of the 2dr versions, the RX Turbo, predecessor of the WRX. I used to make quick work of 5.0s because everyone I came alongside always wanted to challenge me. It did 45 to 75 in about 1.5 seconds.
Mine is a 4 door and I built an ej for it and it’s actually really quick, it smokes a lot of newer cars and diesel trucks and is even a tad bit quicker then stock wrx’s
I still have an '88 Subaru GL-10 Wagon with the 5spd manual and Full-time 4wd, manual locking center differential and limited slip diff out back. As soon as I can do a motor swap, it'll be back on the road. It's a truly fun and engaging car.
I have one as well with the full time 4wd and I’m currently finishing an ej swap and I can’t wait to have some fun with it, only got to drive it once because the ea82t ran terribly so I basically pulled the motor as soon as I got it
My first car was an '83 GL10 wagon. My parents bought it new, and when I got it I wanted to do a WRX or STI drivetrain like this. Sadly, my dad and I messed something up trying to swap the broken digital dash for an analog one, and shorted out damn near everything. Thanks for showing me what could have been.
That was my first car...a black ’86 GL-10. Bought it used. The dash was the coolest one around. Also had a tripometer with multiple “apps.” Knight Rider quality stuff.
This is exactly how a "One Take" should be....about 2 years ago I told that other fella that he should do what you are doing right here.....and other videos, of course....that other fella responded and said that cost were too high so it was not possible.
Hey, how did the swap Go. I also have an 87 leone that i want to swap with an EJ20 engine, drive train and suspensions....hints on how yours went will be appreciated. Update: I finally did the SWAP
' i do miss my old subaru 1984 sedan car GL-10, gray, 4 doors, LED green light on speeding meter, power window, cruise control, automatic V-4 motor with 1800CC, top tint window removeable and do again down lock tint top... very best car i ever love drive
Awesome car Nico. Followed your build starting with your original ss. I'd really like to know how you plumbed the Mann Hummel air oil separator in. I have one sitting on my shelf I need to put on my legacy.
Built to be balls-out fast and still safer than 90% of 1980s sports/super cars of similar power. Turbo Porsches loved to send people into the grass backwards and that's if you were skilled at driving.
I have a 92 loyale, basically the same car. Owner says here he direct swapped in a rear subframe?? Is that accurate? I want to swap to ej22 awd from ea82 fwd
Great job. I think you did very well with commentary 👍. Didn't bore me, and I get bored easily listening to talking/rambling. That machine is awesome! I'm an all subaru channel! Check me out please. Definitely enjoyed seeing this car! Thank you.
The Stig's German Cousin you mean the camber plates? You can put them one way to adjust strictly camber or turn them on an angle like his are and Adjust camber and caster at the same time
haha, it's a drag car! Nico knows what he's doing, he just gives fewer than zero f#cks what anyone else thinks and we love him for it. This car is really his personality on 4-wheels, as it should be with anyone's project car.
Finesse? What idiot brings a car for hot lapping at a road course on bald tires and blames the driver? Completely irresponsible of the owner here.... Glad everyone was okay.
Nico marches to his own drummer. We love him and his crazy car. It definitely needs a lot more tire and less aggressive brake pads to be more user-friendly on the track, but he's bananas enough to like it just the way it is and that's all that matters. To each his own. For the record, we'd drive it again anytime. It's a crazy death trap of fun.
