If you want to see how my wall o waters work, I posted a video here where I used them to protect my tomatoes last year: • I Hope This Works! Pro...

Very nice vlog It’s always a great idea to save seeds, And no worries when you plant early and they won’t make it because you have extra seeds to replace them My beans have already sprouted, I directly sow them as soon as I finish preparing the garden for the season The idea of the water wall is great, I haven’t heard of that before

Yes - saving seeds gives so much freedom, because then I always have extra, plus I don’t have to worry about my favorite varieties being sold out or unavailable

I watched a video on the channel the fireside farm where she has issues with a cut worm who would slice off the seedlings starts. She had planted a stick or something next to her seedlings which made it difficult for the worm to cut off her seedlings. Also “Jacques in the garden” had some informational videos on that issues as well.

Cut worms are definitely a possibility - I plan to put a ring of some sort around my direct sown cucumber seeds this year to hopefully prevent those. A stick sounds like a good idea too! Maybe I’ll try both approaches and see how it works

I’m surprised your average last frost date is so late. Here in St Paul, MN area it’s April 30. I think the 90% sure last frost is mid May.

It’s usually earlier than that, but sometimes we get a late frost, so most people around here don’t plant out until mid May. Last year we got a frost on May 18!
