25:43 Upon sailing home beneath the tower of four winds, The children, who we visited in their homelands, Assemble together to sing us a friendly farewell. Still in their traditional national costumes, They join in the universal rendition of the song. With the finale, all boundaries have been removed. The hosts of the tour are simply children of the world, who share the common bonds of friendship, imagination, courage, purity, wisdom, and understanding. It’s a World of Laughter, A world of tears, It’s a world of hopes, And a world of fears, There’s so much that we share, That it’s time we’re aware, and There is just one moon, And one golden sun, And a smile means Friendship to everyone, Though the mountains divide, And the oceans are wide, “It’s a Small World.” And a Happiest one After All. 28:13

20:54 we now arrive in the Andes mountains of Chile in South America, including Lake Titicaca, where a friendly llama climbs up the peaks while a Little Chilean boy plays on his reed flute.
4:55 We now Approach Holland where a Boy and Two Girls Seated on Tulips Click their wooden shoes to keep rhythm of the song. With a Flock of Geese joining In the Melody in Belgium
12:55 we now enter Thailand and Bali, where a Many Armed Golden Goddess Reigns over the land. The Balinese umbrellas shelter the variety of Dancers and musicians… and One Grinning Bengal Tiger.
23:19 we now arrive and say “Saludos Amigos” to South America’s good neighbor, Mexico. Where you’ll discover straw horsemen on the bridge, red clay figures, fiery volcanoes, and the Blazing Mayan Sun looking upon the Central American youngsters do their Native Dance.
This soundtrack was included on a full-length 33 1/3 speed vinyl record ‘It’s A Small World’ along with narration (I see some comments recalling parts of it). A beautiful picture of Disneyland’s white facade exterior on the front and pictures of dolls in a global design on the back. Included was a full-page picture book read-along. Best quality soundtrack to highlight each country’s arrangement lost in the blur of the actual ride.
Well when they created the beautiful white facade embellished with gold and sparkly accents for Disneyland in 1966, I loved it. Glad we have pics of the Tower and other artists renditions.
14:31 And Now, we approach the magical islands of Japan. The Japanese boys fly their dragon kites above the orange tori gate. The kimono clad girls and Japanese dolls in red, blue, pink, and orange join in the song.
Hey Benjamin! Im so exicted to announce that im an official disney cast member now! And coincidentaly i was given the job to inspect and fix the dolls in the IASW attraction! (I said coincidentaly because i am a fan of IASW) and although i am irish american and i live in ireland, i decided to move to california, anehiem to work as a disney cast member.
That's AWESOME!! I'm so happy for you, the ride, and the future of both! As you may know, many dolls, lighting, and other set pieces have fallen into a relative state of neglect over the last several years, especially compared to the early years (1960's-80's) and even the first years after the 2008 refurbishment (ending around mid 2010's). Nowadays a few dolls even have cracked mouths (some have been fixed however), and around early 2022 the Swiss bells actually swung too far, enough to damage the wood. I've seen a lot of this up close on the internet and to a lesser extent in person. When I went last February, I personally saw the primary New Zealand light flashing noticeably every second, as well as the Swiss bells actually damaging the wooden set piece from swinging too fast (I've also seen on the internet that the Swiss wood damage started in at least the 2021 Holiday overlay). And I've also seen it hasn't gotten any better since then. I'm so excited to see what you are able to accomplish with this job! I think it might have been a bit difficult moving from Ireland to California, but I'm impressed that you were able to pull it off and get this job! And an absolutely amazing coincidence that you are inspecting IASW dolls. Congratulations and good luck!
@@benjaminroberson1924 Thanks for the support! I have informed my fellow cast members and we are building the swiss bell ringers replacement ( for broken ones) and the set piece too, we are still building the body and face but the bells are done with the same paint and glitter, and mechanics are now trying to fix the new zealand light and will be finished until further notice. I am sorry for the malfunctions and broken dolls but we are going to somehow try fix some of the dolls like for example the british finale right boy singer has a small cracked mouth (thanks to disney fan cat for the upload) and we are going to build the replacement too. So once again im sorry the ride is quite in a state of neglect but im going to try to fix the problems so you have a more magical ride the next time. Thanks for the support!
@@boonehtru2287 No problem! I'm already really impressed you were able to inform your fellow cast members about these issues, and it's not your fault the ride is currently in a neglected state. It's really some other people at various departments who don't care as much about or visit the parks and yet are allowed to control the maintenance by upper management, but at least with you in charge of small world it seems that the ride may have better days ahead! 😃
@@benjaminroberson1924 well we are also building the balinese choir finale doll becuz one of them has a huge crack on its mouth (disney fan cat credit again lol) and the asia section russian/balkan dancers (whatever you call it) cannot kick their legs so their freezing BUT we are also trying to fix the problem. Then there is the balinese dancer infront of the purple elephant now just swaying left and right not doing their up and down shoulder motion (thats because the doll was moving too harsh) and also the instrument or gamelan player (the blue one at the bali section too) is moving his hand too high and now freezint. When we checked the endoskeleton is almost ripped in half and now we are trying to repair the hand for the poor doll.
@@benjaminroberson1924 and i also forgot to mention that the spanish set piece has fallen and already at normal position now (and again disney fan cat credit again)
*Your grandpa, Rolly Crump, was a legendary genius!* I am very fond of much of his work, especially it's a small world with both the Tower of the Four Winds, as well as the Clock tower at Disneyland since 1966. I am really sorry to hear about his passing a few months ago. He was an *AMAZING* artist and designer, who will be remembered far into the future as one of Walt's relatively early, pioneering Imagineers.
@@benjaminroberson1924I know it’s a bit late but before he died he showed me how to make like a tower of the four winds out of clay it was real easy to make lol!
if you ever decide to make a new version of this video, i would highly suggest, for any of the scenes with vocals, to have the soundtrack play twice, first time with vocals and second time without. btw i have a new stereo version of the original 1964 spain audio for you- its mostly the same as the one ive given you already but the marimba from the left channel in the unedited recording has been put on the right channel (since the one i gave you has the guitar on only the left channel alongside the violin leaving nothing on the right channel.)
That is a great idea. I will try to do that in time for the 60th, though I'm not sure if it will be on time. Would you be able to upload the stereo 1964 Spain audio?
I don't think there's any between current DL and HKDL. The current sounds were designed to use at DL and TDL in the early 80's (replacing the smiliar, but different 1966 sounds at DL), and have been used at DL since then & even restored at TDL in 2018 after a 20+ year absence (they used Paris 92 sounds in 90's-17). The masters became a little worn after playing for most of the 80's/90's and were remastered in 2002-03. The 03 version now plays at DL, HKDL (08), and TDL (18), as well as WDW I believe at a faster pace (05), while Paris has the 1992 variant. The 1966 and 80's tick tocks are very similar, but the pitches are different in 66.
15:19 and As we enter the great steps of Egypt we’ve been greeted by… Cleopatra and her Waver? Egyptian Arabic: ومع دخولنا الخطوات العظيمة لمصر، استقبلنا كليوباترا وويفر؟
I do not own the vinyl record with the World's Fair cover. However, I do own a vinyl record with the 1960's Disneyland façade on the cover, but the interior pictures from the book that comes with it are from the World's Fair version. Hopefully this link with a video I posted of it will work: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ALkSfXGHENg.htmlsi=ZSSFXaLr__UWnzRU
@@benjaminroberson1924 I don't own the 1964 vinyl record, but I do own one of the records from the late 60s. Also, where do you think the 1964 vinyl records were sold?
I'm not entirely sure where the 1964 records were sold but probably at least the 1964-65 World's Fair itself and maybe Disneyland since Walt Disney built the ride and it was moved there afterward.
Still extremely busy with other priorities including schoolwork. I'm graduating high school in mid June and hoping I'll have more time for a bit after that
@@bella01756 I know they changed their movements around the early/mid 70's, if that what Amy means by facing the wrong way (they haven't changed since then)
I apologize for neglecting that ride completely over the last several months, but hopefully relatively soon I'll *finally* have a few old videos of Space Mountain (Mostly 1980's-90's), as well as eventually a 1977 pictorial/audio tribute, probably with all images taken between 1977-84.
@@skunkman9815 I honestly still don't see how. Yes, Jazz is popular in many parts of the world, but a South African Jazz scene grew much like in the US throughout the 20th century, and for some was even used as a tool against apartheid. I know there are negative/racist connotations between Jazz and African people, but these were made up by actual racists since the early 20th century and shouldn't be seen as factual. I also don't think it's racist because of the concept and message of the ride itself, which any kind of racism would clearly contradict. And since it was used as a symbol of resistance against apartheid during the mid 20th century, when this ride was first constructed, it can also be seen as a subtle symbol of what happened in South Africa around the same time, which in terms of racist ideas held by some of their population was the opposite of what this ride always preaches. It showed that while we had and have problems in the States, even in the depths of the 60's Civil Rights movements some people, including Unicef and Walt Disney in this subtle way, were willing to teach what is wrong with that kind of oppression, in an attraction that already preaches that gorgeously elsewhere. Just look at the full lyrics to the song. It's a world of laughter A world of tears It's a world of hopes And a world of fears There's so much that we share That it's time we're aware It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small, small world There is just one moon And one golden sun And a smile means Friendship to ev'ryone Though the mountains divide And the oceans are wide It's a small world after all
I am kind of interested in America Sings. The concept of the carousel theater going through different periods in America's music history was very cool especially with the great audio animatronic cast. The music is also well done and so are the many characters and their integration. IMO, the only negative things about America Sings for me is that it replaced the even better Carousel of Progress, as well as how besides using the still remarkable Carousel theater, didn't really fit as well in Tomorrowland. Putting it on Main Street would have been a better alternative, but Disney was also losing a lot of money in the 70's so I kinda understand their thinking. Besides those 2 things, it was an extremely great show that was a good addition to Disneyland, and better than both of it's successors (Innoventions and ESPECIALLY pointless Star wars launch bay)
@@Koreafan-xm5se Yeah building a whole land for one franchise is definitely not the best idea, especially since they still have the launch bay and Star Tours elsewhere. I still resent Star Tours for replacing Adventure thru Inner Space, but besides that it's also a well done attraction. IMO, I also really like the Rise of the Resistance attraction in Star Wars land and it's very well done, though besides that I don't care much for the land either. I can probably make an America Sings audio mix, though it may take a few months with some other things I have planned for the meantime. That they already made a full length mix in the Disneyland Forever CD is very helpful.
