Why is a bacteriologist working on a VIRUS? Edit: oh wait, if his attempt at a cure was to make a bacteria that would eat exclusively the Delta-V virus, then being a bacteriologist would make sense. But how the heck did he end up with a multicellular organism instead? I'd probably have to watch the movie to find that out, or at least to find out that they also have no explanation for that.

You seem to be implying Hollywood can write believable female characters now, when frankly the standards of writing have just gone down the drain for everyone since then. We love a good robot bromance though, it's a tale as old as time.

Honestly the “it’s all ‘dead space’” line makes more sense in 3 than it does 1. In 1, Dead Space is the immediate area around a Marker, which terminates the necromorph signal (presumably so necromorphs don’t accidentally damage or otherwise disturb the Marker). In 3, Dr. Serrano is referring to his mentors or whatever teasing him saying there is no alien life, no Xeon-archeology to study (which makes you wonder how Dr. Serrano got his degree in the first place). At least the phrase “dead space” in this instance refers to the chilling concept that despite Earth being full of life, and a species (us, humans) advanced enough to travel and send technology out in space, there’s *nothing* out there. No signs of anything but us, alone. It’s even more terrifying in this fictional setting, because the reason we don’t find any other life out there, is because there is an apex predator lurking in the stars, and the moment any species becomes advanced enough, they are consumed.
@@bbluva20 I imagine, in the context of this fictional setting, it was a speculative field at that point. I'm not sure if it ever says he got a degree in it, either, in this specific instance he just says that he wants to study it.
Saying "God forsakes" is a really, really intimidating way of saying God forbid. Also fuck me man that "NO! THAT'S MY FRIEND!" line came from the heart, I could feel the emotion from that actor.
