Thing is, there’s a lot of comments here saying “we forgive you will” but to be honest it isn’t for us to forgive him. It’s up to Chris. He can only make that call.
Will apologised to his fans and people who looked up to him so they can accept his apology also. Since yes, tons of people were let down by his actions
But it is up to everybody if a white person did this? If a white person did this then i'm 100% sure that he would be canceled a long time ago, but yeah... this borderline kid is so special that it doesn't matter.🤣
Partially true. But his career continuing to thrive, also majorly relies on his fans. If people didn't forgive him, then they wouldn't support or purchase his movies anymore and his career would continue to plummet
Will: "I am deeply devoted and committed to putting light, and love, and joy into the world. But even more so, I am deeply committed to keeping my WIFE'S NAME OUT YA FUCKIN MOUTH!!"
I was surprised to find them on. May be he is trying to get out of the echo-chamber of his entourage and get real, tuff and honest advise. Or, maybe it is a sad attempt to manipulate the public. Lets see if he replies to anyone.
For the people who can't see it: 👍121K - 👎288K Edit: Currently there are 👎201K so they're deleting dislikes as of August2024 In reality the amount of dislikes was probably even much higher than 288K
When you use three different cameras to issue an apology, I'm reminded of something the judge in the movie Mrs Doubtfire said... "your little speech seemed to be... very heartfelt and genuine. But I believe it to be a terrific performance by a very gifted actor. Nothing more".
@@awofidipeayodeji6174 call Chris personally or waited til they crossed paths… this was way too long, he literally waited months. It wasn’t a blurr when he accepted the award, or when they called his name…. He didn’t even go behind the scenes and apologize that night..
Honestly, Chris doesn’t have to accept Wills apology but if he chooses to accept it, he can choose not to reconnect. Forgiveness does not require reconnection.
chris was the one who made fun of will's wife's illness. would you laugh with someone's illness? would you like me to make fun of your loved one's sickness?
I want to see a video of will explaining to his son why what he did was wrong. it is easy to say it was wrong, but I need to her you say why it was wrong if I am going to believe you actually understand why it was wrong.
How much will, will a will smith smith, if a will smith will smith will? A will smith will smith as much will as a will smith will, if a will smith will smith will.
@@MassiveHappyClapper This is why I really, REALLY don't want fame. I'd so much rather keep being some random on the street and able to leave my mistakes behind me.
@@MassiveHappyClapper You totally missed the point in what’s happening now with his mistake. Not all mistakes are created equal. Some people get a ticket for a mistake. Some people spend a lifetime in jail for a mistake. Will Smith is now paying for his mistake, and rightfully so. The punishment is justified! I don’t think anyone is claiming to never have made a mistake.
You spent all your life with thousands of hours of work and sleepless nights to become what you are and the role model everyone looked up to, only to lose it in 10 seconds... Such a "bruh" moment right there. I don't blame Chris for not forgiving you yet... I don't think many people will any time soon.
The real question... Why did security not escort him out? Why was he allowed to even accept his award? Why did he get a standing ovation afterwards? That's the truely insane thing here... Will is a human and can be forgiven.. He totally made a mistake.. but why TF didn't anybody do something at the time?
It's easy to think it in retrospect, but I think at the time, the Academy really had no idea what to do. They never imagined this kind of scenario would occur. Will was asked to leave but refused, and at the time he was an extremely respected and powerful Hollywood figure. It's natural that the Academy staff on hand would have hesitated to forcibly eject such a powerful person from the ceremony, even if it was the right thing to do.
It did make me sad, he seems genuine. Especially hen he said something the effect of; an apology is not going to be enough to rectify the situation. It reminds me of Gods justice, people think they can just say sorry to God, and He just going to let things slide. Well, that is not the case, God will perform justice to all sinners. He is Holy, and righteous, and must punish sin. Therefore all sinners end up in Hell. But God, is not willing that anyone will perish. He became a man named Jesus. (1 Timothy 3:16) He lived a perfect sinless life, and He died on the cross to pay our sin debt. (1 Corinthians 15:3). He rose from the dead defeating death, Hell and the grave. He promises everlasting life and forgiveness of sins to all who believe in His finished cross work for the payment of sin. We broke Gods laws, Jesus paid the fine. Repent and Trust Jesus.
This whole Hollywood culture of putting everything out there feels so rehearsed and managed. They took 4 months for them to plan how WS would address this without it backfiring, when his real concern should be privately getting in touch with CR (and continuing to try) without worrying about his image.
?? I'm not defending Will, I could care less how this whole situation plays out, but he LITERALLY said "I apologize..." that's the same as "I'm sorry" Stop trying to fish more drama when he clearly apologized. How you feel about his apology is one thing, but he did the simple legit "I'm sorry"
To be fair he wasn't using this video to personally speak to Chris. He does not say sorry in this video but I wonder if he is waiting to say sorry to him in person. We may never know if Will is sorry or not... being sorry is feeling remorse for Chris.
Bro should’ve said 4 months ago, “Yo, Chris. My bad bro. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t even done that.” This kinda feels like a lame duck apology that you’re forced to do when you believe you ain’t done nothing wrong.
If you read his book you will know how arrogant this man is.. I'm amazed it took him only 4 months to bull his head out of his arse and give us a classic yt apology video.
Exactly, It didnt have to be some publicity stunt. We all know damn well chris would have forgiven him and would have told everyone in media to chill out. He handled this the absolute worst way possible, and even now is still making it all about him. He cant just act like a normal freaking person for a second, and its kinda disgusting.
@@YEAR-1-RELICS I see a lot of words but I can't make any sense of what you said. And no, I don't know any good ginger recipes, sorry. Ginger cookies are good though! edit: aww you edited out all the good parts lol
The best way to show that you’re sorry is to not do it again. The best way to show that we’ve learned from our mistakes is to not make those same mistakes again.
I love how he’s made a 5 min video mostly talking about how hard it has been for HIM, HIS fans and HIS family and only a minute of him actually apologising to Chris and his mom. That clip is going to stay on the internet forever for Chris’s kids to see and Will should have addressed how traumatic this whole situation was for Chris as well. Such a bad apology to come up with in 3 months , I guess Will thinks that everything’s about him.
I have to disagree I think it would have been arrogant for him to come off like he knows how Chris feels and to speak for Chris and to talk about Chris's trauma The only person who can talk about the trauma that they faced from the receiving end it's a person who received it he can only speak from his and as the person who caused the pain we will understand the true story of what it was to be on the receiving end when Chris comes forward and decides to talk
Will Smith, I just want to say to you, that it seems you have done nearly 8,000 beautiful, wonderful things in the industry. And then 1 bad. And you get remembered for that 1bad. I am here for you, even though I was shocked, but, someone should not have to be remembered for the bad thing they had done. Blessings and peace be upon you 🙏
131k dislikes. GOD DAMN. and that is after youtube disabled people from seeing them without the extension which makes people dislike a lot less. What would it be if they didn't do such a stupid thing.
Mr Smith. I may not be the superfan who has your image all over my house...but I have watched all your movies. I have listened to your motivational speeches. The pressure to appear as the perfect gentleman at all times...must be immense. I don't think any of us who haven't led the celebrity life can understand this. You lost your temper. It was improper conduct...and it was caught in one of the most public settings possible. I still believe that you are an honest hardworking man who puts his family first. I will keep praying for you. My word of advise is. Do not sit to long beating yourself over this mistake. Failures are the stepping stones to success. Best wishes Mr Will Smith. Compliments of the season.
@@TheEmperorRaidou not do a public apologise, make it personal and do it in such a way that looks genuine, not like this could tell it wasn't for sure.
Exactly!! Note the lamp bulb right behind his head makes him look like an angel with a halo. Everything was planned and thought out with this very professional vid. Chris wasn't ready to talk yet. So Will couldn't even keep quiet and wait for Chris to reach out .... absolutely no respect for Chris
None of us are our worst day, our worst behavior. Continue to learn and grow through all this. Thank you for being open and sharing. You are a good person and you are loved!
You forgot to mention wardrobe--he looks like he was out for a round of golf and was too grief stricken on the back nine to finish, and came inside to make this apology video.
I love how he slowly reads the fan questions, as if he is reading them for the first time!😂😂. I guess we’re supposed to believe he didn’t have a team of individuals that coached him through the well rehearsed responses?
@@pinhead7422 bro this is a Public Platform They can give their Opinion you gotta delete ya social media accounts if you think People on internet are here just to answer your questions and you are just another troll
@@UnOeufff Okay, but so? Who are we to say his reasons are right or wrong? People need to chill out and remember their own flaws that they were very fortunately forgiven for.
No way 100k people apreciate this. At no point did he ever formally apologize. He made a 5 minute video where he answers unrelated questions and diverts everyones expectations by making himself out to be "lost" and needs "development" hes like 100 years old at this point he shouldve grown up by now and learnt a well enough lesson to properly apologize
@@juice_champion what are you on? This is pressured by people, he could've apologized along time ago but when people get pressured and gets bunch of hate of course he's gonna do something about it. He's not really even sorry, was he sorry when he did that kind of act no
Sorry Will, but your entire Press team can’t help you here. You really doesn’t seams to understand what happened that evening with Chris, and the impact your behavior had to the world. Your words don’t sound honestly, and playing the victim is very misplaced.
@@marbelentertainment4761 I see it as someone apologizes publicly to you.. in their apology they put the ball in your court, saying "Whenever ____ wants to talk about it I'm here for ____" its public relations 101. Positing oneself as the self-righteous, morally upright man, while performing what should be a sincere, personal exchange..
Gonna give my 2 cents here. That line of thinking is completely delusional in this circumstance. This has completely nothing to do with money. If you known how well off this guy is. Even if hes canceled He can retire right now and be fine for the rest of his life. No matter what or what he did, he is a icon in the movie industry period. To even to begin to presume that this is a money issue is completely out the water. Assuming you're not a fan So I'll fill you in real quick. Smith is a people pleaser. He always wants the best for whoever hes talking to. He does not get pissed off easily unless it's towards family. He apologized to Chris way before this video. This video Was purely for the audience watching that whole scenario up on stage. He not only feels bad about what he did. He feels bad about how it affected people. That damages to someone like him. Now you can take what you will. But please for the love of God dont just throw up accusations from pure tunnel vision.
This guy is 50, he should have had the maturity and self control to not do what he did. That being said, I don’t think he’s a bad person, or that he deserves to lose everything over this, he definitely deserved the backlash though. I do hope he recovers from this eventually, otherwise he’s gonna be on a watch mojo list with Michael Richards and sinead O’Connor.
The whole lot is one big Roast. If you can't handle someone demeaning you, then you really should not have gone. No wonder comedians are just leaving the field.
@@valdiharris sure it’s experience but there’s no way you are going to forgive or let a 50 + year old human slide for being inexperienced at learning to control their emotions. It’s actually a worse look for that 50+ year old.
