My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. Now I make videos about visiting Paris, traveling in Europe, and try to share what I've learned along the way. I hope you enjoyed what you found.

In North America there are signs NOT allowing dogs on mechanical subwaystair steps , for the same reason Cooper limped in this video, because it’s easy for dogs specially small ones, with small paws to get them snagged in those grooves, which does not mean you have to take regular stairs , it means you PICK the dog UP when using them….😮

As a regular viewer, Cooper jumps up with one leg out, my dog does the same and lots of city dogs are perfectly adopted to using escalators , maybe European dogs are smarter than American dogs?? I dunno.

Yeah Cooper does a funny jump thing sometimes, where ever we might be walking. I've had it checked out by the vet and he's totally fine, just a twitchy little guy!

I have been watching your channel for a short time. I want to get your parisinmypocket guide but I am coming for the Olympics. You had mentioned that most French people are getting out. Will this hold true for the great restaurants you have featured in some of your videos? Just wondering

Hey Michael - I have a feeling a lot of restaurants will stay open, but it still remains to be seen. I'd definitely recommend getting the guide, though, because you can sort by arrondissement so if something is closed, you have back ups. Also, it's access for life, so you'll be able to use it when you come back again (or use it as an excuse to come back again!)

There is a great (and cheap) Ukrainian restaurant close to the Opéra Metro stop. It's called Oranta.

Skip the Krispy Kreme, ...trust me. Not that good, and I find that they leave an odd aftertaste, so you eat another not-so-good donut to try and get rid of the taste. A vicious circle (maybe that is their strategy for success) Plus, the long line there as I see, makes it doubly a no-go. All hype in my opinion, but I suppose one has to try them once, but I would not wait in line, if there is one.

Japan has been warming, alas France no. 🤔. Note: I have square open box’s underneath my bed. The frame is taller, so it helps. I don’t need drawers. 🌴🌴Aloha
