Our first self built floor is done! We've put so much blood, sweat and tears to get this far. In this video I'll show just how much. And what is the result? The floor looks almost exactly the same as when we started.
I think this might seem like madness to some to do all this work without no visible reward and I fully understand that. Even I thought about it at times. But there's no shortcuts when you need to follow your heart and my heart wanted the old floor back. :D
We still need to take out the chunky screws and change them to nails. And of course sand and paint the whole floor, but these "decorating" jobs will have to wait for a better time.
Would we do this again? Heck no. But 2/3 of the house is still missing floors, so I think we don't have any options but to do so. However, all the digging and demolishing is already done throughout the house, so it gets easier from now on.
