I don’t think it’s Sky, she would have had reaction before now I would think. It might be the hair chalk, I would take a look at that if she has never used it before. The rash appeared when she used it.

@Amanda Strickland And it turned out to be an issue with the birds food being dumped on the floor, getting dust and water in it. She was found not to be allergic to birds. Unfortunately Sky passed away, but they have another bird now and learned a lesson for this incident.

I'm so sorry Daisy I understand how much you love that bird But haven't you had Sky for a long time now. What about the hair chalk you've been using? Or have you been doing different things with sky like feeding her different using different materials with her??? It can be anything, but just in case make sure to STAY AWAY FROM SKY. Abby's Stutt I agree Abby. I have Owned parrots for years now. This is not a reaction from the bird. Even from molting. This has to be reaction from the hair chalk. Especially with the rash being on neck and face. Where the hair chalk is touching. Their is harmful toxins in those hair products. I am assuming daisy has not been Holding the bird since this rash has occurred and it’s still gotten worse? I wouldn’t consider the bird. Love birds don’t have dander like cockatiels or cockatoos do. The casings around the new feather growth is mostly made of calcium. Wash the chalk out of her hair. Wash her bedding really well and see if this improves.

But my concern with doctor testing of feather allergies. It’s not from the breed of bird daisy has witch makes a BIG difference.

Sadly it could be, my cousin was around animals all my life and when my cousin went to school to become a vet she ended up being allergic to dogs, cats, and Guinea pigs.

niya sloth Spotts you can develop allergies at any time. Also April said Daisy has had the rash on and off for awhile but not as bad.

Could Daisy's hair color stuff like chalk or dye be the culprit? If you've had your bird Skye for a year or more I'm guessing he already went through the process of getting new feathers a handful of times before and Daisy never had a reaction like this then? Just a thought! Praying it's not her bird 😊

First off take a shower and wash your whole body! Get all the chemicals from lotions, sprays, and soaps off of you. Then get your room cleaned up too.

So glad that Claudia's remedies, worked , we call her ALL THE TIME and she is able to help so many times. Loved the kids playing together and little EB skiing is so cute! EB with the makeup on her face and hiding was so funny! That girl!

i am allergic to apples and my eyes used to swell up like that. what I used to do to help the swelling and itching was putting cooled down, brewed camomille tea bags on my eyes for 15-30 min.

When I started working in the medical field I worked in Allergy and Asthma. Hopefully the testing yielded results because they can't test for everything. If nothing shows I'd get her pillows and mattress allergy covers, keep her room dusted, don't let the bird in her room, wash hands after playing with the bird, and keep an air purifier running in Daisy's room. Also, deep clean the carpets! Stuffed animals that cannot be washed can be put in the freezer to kill off dust mites so that might help if nothing else.

If the worst case scenario happens, the best option would be to give the bird 8 passengers as you have a similar family and they also have pets. I don't think the bird is the problem though because it may well also be the hair chalk she recently put in. Get better Daisy!👍🏻🤗🤞

Poor daisy. I highly recommend you go to a allergy specialist because they work wonders and they can do testing for allergies. I had the same thing as daisy and I found out I am allergic to dust mites and cats .

I don’t think it’s the bird. However I have an African grey parrot and two budgies and when they’re molting birds will bathe a lot more or sometimes they get really dusty from seeds but tbh I think it could be the hair chalk
