I am so impressed that you took the time to share one of this country's finest industries, American glass. I am also impressed that you continue to learn and share the beauty of our heritage with your presentations. Finally your channel promotes the fulfillment of setting a beautiful table and entertaining with the things that you love and collect. Our culture has lost the value and importance of continuing family traditions with family treasures which include having meals together using real china and American stemware and crystal. With all of our culinary famous icons, no one has put together a show, showcasing a wonderful meal using the beautiful china and serving pieces with silver and crystal that the host has been collecting. Perhaps you are the one to get this started. Thanks so much for this RU-vid.
How fun, wish I could go! I collect lavender glassware with neodymium, specifically Fostoria Wisteria 5099-5299, so it was great to see lavender glass featured. Great video 🥂
Hi MaryBeth, thanks so much for this interesting presentation. Over the past few years I have become very interested in antique and vintage glass. Previously I avoided even looking at glass because I tend to break things easily but I’m making it a point of slowing down and being careful now!
Some of those pieces are so beautiful they bring tears to my eyes! I’m a crystal/glass/ sparkly things addict ! Thank you for the tour and education. If I were there I would surly embarrass myself by gaping speechless and hyperventilating!!!
Thank you, Thank you,so enjoyed especially when you give history. How much were they selling the square foster cake plate. My daughter has her great grandmother's given to her by her by my mother (her grandmother who inherited it from her mother-in-law). Also I will be photographing as I did once before for your facebook page. I found a cake stand (for $6 I think) that I bought because the pedestal is a tripod design which is unusual and I love to know more about it. Once again I love your channel especially when you educate us! Also an exciting find a red trim large medallion circle sugar and creamer. I was at a Goodwill before Christmas didn't buy; happened by a Goodwill Outlet about a month ago found them and paid about a $1. Thanks for hint.
Thank you for taking me window shopping with you. I’m at the stage of not buying and looking to downsizing soon but I still enjoy seeing pretty things.
Hello Mary Beth! I do so enjoy your commentaries. I tend to think in question: what? When? where? why? Lol. I love how I always, always learn something from your videos. Thank you!😍
This was SO interesting! I enjoyed hearing about the two American Brilliant pieces (such tiny cuts!) and how blue cut to crystal is made. I'd be interested in seeing some EAPG collections, too, as I find their versatile designs and uses quite fascinating. Also great to see West Virginia well represented as so many glass manufacturers were based in our state. Thank you!
What a stunning collection of beautiful glass that the collectors brought together in one location. Each piece was 'my favorite' and prettier than the one before. All beautiful in their own right. Thank you for inviting us along - I'm hoping you were able to enjoy it yourself too without filming :)
There are Florida glass shows that might be in your area. Would be a great opportunity to feature on your channel. Can you believe that I was so awestruck that I didn’t buy any glass? It did inspire me to start collecting the Cambridge Draped Lady. Sending love from our home in Germany! ❤️🇩🇪
I was wondering if your daughters have a love for tableware and Waterford as well? I enjoy your videos, only problem you don’t post enough!I wish you could “vlog” style one day a week add on a thrift or shop with me sometimes.
Mary Beth all this stuff is so beautiful Aya don't have things like this anymore and I really need to I've gifted all of them to my grand kids and I need to do for myself and my daughter and daughter-in-law
Watching some of your older videos and loving them , as always. I wonder if those cigarette holders could be repurposed to hold a cell phone on a nightstand. That would be a pretty piece
Oh my!!! Thank you SO VERY MUCH for taking us along to this beautiful glass show!! I wish I could have been there in person!! Everything was just so pristine and perfect and shining and oh so lovely, and I think, because I have come to be a glass enthusiast, maybe, just this side of heaven!! Again, thank you so much!!😍🥰♥️ Kim
Your Best Show Ever! You might have been able to do Part 1 and Part 2 videos. Excellent content. This I will watch again. I love to collect but more importantly seeing pieces that aren’t readily available at antique stores is special and enjoy hearing from Antique Vendors! So many pieces I would have loved to see closer, it was So Special. Thank You! This should have huge views as Collectors would love to watch. Good Luck to you!
@@LadyMaryBeth Looking forward to your next Glass Show! Wish there were also shows or places to look at collections of China and Porcelain too. So many factories closed in England and Bavaria etc. Thanks again for a terrific video! ❤️
Observations. 1. I live way to far from large southern cities if that’s the type of antiques shows you have. 2. Glass is one of the most fascinating and diverse collectibles to enjoy as I think there’s something for everyone. 3. Those prices were unbelievably good. 4. Glass in mass looks so amazing. 5. Fenton is still probably my best choice for collecting as it’s affordable and I don’t entertain much. Fenton pieces and colors are all so complementary of each other. 6. Punch bowls can even be used as organization containers; I have 2 in my closet. Don’t work if it’s something you need to move often but good for putting stuff into.
I bought the Hummel figurine and James Avery jewelry in the next building with antiques. Filming the glass was my focus and I regret not purchasing a few items.
Wonderful collection. However, it is for the moneyed persons only. Antique pieces are beyond the reach of ordinary people. Barring a limited collection all items are pricey.
The point is learning how to identify these pieces. We can appreciate the history and watch out for these at thrift stores. Viewers will amaze you with their bargain finds.
I just really enjoyed your video today....I loved looking and learning about all the different glass you showcased, and it really reminded me of my Dad, him being an auctioneer back in the 1960's and 70's. I was just a child then but, a lot of that stuck with me, and they were my inspiration for beautiful glass and antiques...Thank you for sharing!!
Hi Lady Mary Beth. Thankyou for showing the amazing glass show. The pieces were wonderful and such a large collection in one place. This show is deffinatly worth visiting if you can.
Love the beautiful glass show. I have lots of pink & green glasses & plates also. It is fun to pair with other decorative dishes. My favorites are called watermelon, where pink & green are in one glass or sherbert. The dishes are Royal Lace. I started out with my grandmothers clear RL dinner plates. Then my mother gave me pink RL luncheon plates & I found RL cups & saucers mostly pink with a couple in green.
Wow! Everything really is bigger in Texas! Thanks for taking us along to the Houston Glass Show, Mary Beth! What a feast for the eyes. I am lucky enough to have an American Brilliant Cut Glass bowl that was my great-grandmother's. I also enjoy my Mother-in-Law's intaglio Edinburgh Crystal glasses in the Thistle pattern. I wish I were entertaining more, but alas, in this time of pandemic it is just not to be. Stay safe and healthy, and thank you for continuing to provide us with such interesting and informative content!
Thank you so much for a wonderful presentation! I am new to your channel and am so happy to have found you. The presentation was fantastic and informative as well. I have developed an interest in vintage and antique glass/ and art glass; therefore, I thoroughly enjoyed learning and looking at the many different manufacturers and patterns👍💞👍
Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful glass with us. Wow, that cut glass centerpiece vase was just exquisite. I always learn so much from you!
What a magnificent show of beautiful glass, oh how I wish I was not a few thousand miles away, thank you LMB and kind wishes from UK, I adore your videos.
I also loved hearing the story about what your Mother did with Cake servers! Love all your stories! I don’t miss a video but this was my favorite! Thank You Mary Beth!
Hi lady Mary Beth ,just come in from a luncheon an garden centre it’s my birthday an when I saw you that’s made it lovely sending you love an hugs Ann ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧✋✋✋✋
Thank you for this awesome tour to see the most incredible glassware collection I have ever seen! Love the beautiful colors & history. What treasures! ❤❤
I’m so glad I found your channel! I have a bunch of glassware that was grandmother and mother’s that I need to find values for. Some Fostoria, some Cambridge , some American brilliant cut glass pieces and some Franciscan like the ivy pattern you showed. Who in the Houston area could help me with valuing and maybe even consigning? I happen to live in the area and had no idea this show existed! Thx!
Thanks for joining me here. Reach out to Stillgoode Consignments. They will ask you to send photos and set-up an in-store appointment to consign. To get an idea of value, look on eBay for current selling prices.
@@LadyMaryBeth they wouldn’t have been yet. I did talk to a very helpful gentleman over the phone this past week though. I need to get some pics I can send so they can see what I have and then schedule a time I can bring in the items to consign. 👍
Found a Waterford crystal vase, it's 10ins tall trumpets design with six rounded edges at the top. The cut glass design is like a peacock feathers and cross lines inbeweet, I cannot find the actual name of the pattern or value, only link I found was on worthpoint. Any ideas?
That was absolutely outstanding and amazing to see!! I had no idea there was a glass show anywhere. You enlighten me every time you create a video, Lady Mary Beth. :)
