In this video we take a look at the gameplay that was released during the second day of SGF. We get to see one level and a boss in the demo for SxSG. Apparently the level design is a bad as Forces and I just don't see that lol. Let me know what you guys think about the game in the comments below. This level design took me straight back to SA2 honestly. Great balance of straight line running, wide open spaces, small platforming sections, alternate paths, great level length, and i love the use of gravity mechanics. A lot better than Final Chase. Im excited to see his other levels

People forget that the speed stages in Sa2 were just as linear even with the alternate paths. They just lead back to the main stage path. The thing that they're doing right tho, is the sheer amount of alternate paths that allow different playthroughs to be just a little different and help the player master the stage by exploiting the best path for their playstyle. This game, well the first stage at least, is accelling at this.

They got a good combo of branching paths with sick ass cinematics going into this mix. Can't wait to see how they make every other level play out with Shadow, ESPECIALLY in Kingdom Valley. Also I love the discussion of level design here but I would like it if you visually showed the level design and layout you are referring to in the actual video. Otherwise it's better to listen to this video.

Looks like cyberspace to me. Well my gut feeling. Also these visuals and the generations visuals I cant tell a difference. Well the base game generations from xbox and the sonic x generations generations. Oh same level design who worked on unleashed and generations? Hopefully they have their lick.

Dunno where you got the idea of the sky diving being stiff. When you don’t dive, it’s actually very responsive. It’s only more “stiff” when you dive

I mean stiff in how moving left, right, up and down is almost 1:1 to the controller input. You don't really sway as your falling like in Unleashed or base Gens

So you just haven't been looking at all the footage? The diving is a bit too responsive and when you stop pushing in a direction you stop INSTANTLY
