Opening these boxes corresponds to the "coupon collector" problem in computer science. On average it takes 45 boxes to fill all of your gear slots. This is because there are 16 slots, and 16*ln(16) rounds up to 45. 45 boxes is under 17k conquest, so spending 40k and not getting a weapon is definitely unlucky.
This doesn't account for all the different stat combinations and trinkets, right? This also seem like a slightly modified version of the problem since we only want to collect a subset of the pieces.
@@rationalcoder Yeah you're right. The coupon collector would apply if each gear slot had the same number of pieces at the conquest vendor; most slots have two pieces but rings, trinkets, amulets, and some weapons have differing numbers. As far as collecting a subset of pieces, if the number of pieces per slot was the same for all slots (which is still not a terrible approximation) then you can think of each coupon as having been collected when you got one piece of that type (so I'm also ignoring preferences about the non-vers stat on the piece). Then the number of coupons we seek equals the size of the set we're drawing from. In this way of looking at it, differing numbers of gear pieces for different slots means some coupons are more likely to be collected than others, so that does affect the result. I'm sure someone out there has run a monte carlo simulation instead of working it out analytically.

@@andmat3297 How are you getting shit on all game by melee classes as a hunter? Has things changed that much in one expansion? Because as a former hunter, all I can remember is kiting almost everyone of them into oblivion, just learn to kite.
They don't survive that's what they do. That's why everyone complains about how completely and totally broken hunters are... while hunters complain about how underpowered their class is and it being carried by their god tier skill.
Did he grip hunter? Did he pull grabby arms? Did he insta-IF and advance LoS? Did he stun rogue/hunter? He literally did nothing to stop the burst, he just waited 2 seconds before trying to survive it. Gripping hunter and using movement speed to go for los would have been enough. Standing out in the open from the beginning was a losing move. If you think IF + ams is going to be enough to survive the two biggest 1min-bursters in the game its a clear l2p issue.
@@danielstahl8495 grips are 25yds range aimed shot is 40, what movement speed? the one dks dont have? just walking with death's advance wouldn't do much, the position yeah it was bad.
@@lucamihai8421 im not going to argue more. Im playing MM at 2.4k and i can assure you that _NONE_ of these one-shot openings are happening simply because its insanely easy to outplay. What this video doesnt show though is all their losses. Since they win at 2050mmr but next game they win at 1920mmr, that tells you they lose alot aswell. But we dont get to see what those player did differently, do we?
Pika you wil love the Necro legendary on MM hunter and go for Master Marksman talent. Also tame a raptor for Mortal Wounds against healing. And increase walking speed from the raptor. Love the content keep it up. 👌
Bro go for Doubletap> Explosive Shot>Resonating Arrow>Rapidfire>True shot>Aimed shot>Rapidfire>Aimed shot>Arkane shot and if you can Kill shot dmg will be with this rota at least 75k burst :D Edit: go for Rapidfire legendary best legi for kyr :D (my opinion)
You dont need a macro to cancel aspect of the turtle. Just hit turtle again and it will cancel it. A macro is a tiny bit faster though, there is a delay to cancelling if you just use the turtle hotkey again
@@Drazhoath1I mean perhaps, I've made glad in 2v2's running mm hunter currently 2700+ so imo it's just personal preference. Survival hunter is the only other speck for hunter that I would play bm is too cookie cutter/lazy of a play style for me.
@@Talj_wow There has to be a setup to die in .2 seconds. That's what's being argued. Hunters need LOS and almost no one in this video did anything to protect themselves. The DK for example just ran straight into the middle of the room, knowing that a hunter has every single cooldown up. Mistakes were made far before the .2 second killshot. That's not to say that the game isn't unbalanced, just that this isn't a great example of imbalance. It's low rank players making huge mistakes against a team that is playing teams far below their skill level.
