Amen, Amen, Tessie. Thanks for the lovely share... The Giving of 'Thanks' is beautiful, tis wise for us to count our many blessings, amidst every challenge that life throws our way... thru smiles as thru the tears. Blessings everyone. Be safe. 🙏🏻 Inspire someone with a story of God's goodness. 🙌🏼🤗🙌🏼🤗🙌🏼 ✝️💟😊
Please don't forget us. It's very difficult with contaminated water all over Western NC. We have to bathe, drink and cook with bottled water. In our little town, the waste treatment plant was destroyed and our water has raw sewage, chemicals and heavy metals. Volunteers from all over the U.S. have been so helpful. Please keep sending water and supplies for the cold months that will soon be here. God bless!
Well said, Tessie. These past few days, God has been speaking to me about letting go of certain mindsets, habits, and the "need" to be busy. For so long, my days were hectic and rushed, and I've found myself falling back into some old patterns and habits. Instead, I need to lean in to this new season of life with its slower pace. More to that, when we slow down, we can also see the needs of others more clearly, and that is something God has impressed upon my heart, also. Thank you for sharing this inspiration and perspective. ❤
I am praying for our whole World.🙏 Tessie I love just to hear your wisdom .Everyday doesn't have to be busy. God Bless You and your family and all hear.
Good Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Wednesday filled with Gods Joy and Happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all :-) Keep Smiling be safe :-)
Tessie videos are always playing in the kitchen while I'm working away. Today, canned 16 pints of butter, made poultry seasoning with my homegrown herbs, roast chicken dinner and a brown bag apple pie 👌 lovely. Thanks for being my inspiration, Tessie!
Bought all my grandchildren the Laura Ingalls book set. Have to admit, I myself have the collection.😃 Since I was born and lived in Wisconsin the first 52 years of my life, little house in the big woods is special to me
I have read the Laura Ingalls books I don't know how many times in my life. I'm 59. I found them when I was in 3rd grade. I read them over and over and over until I was a grown woman and then I read them all to my daughter and then to my son. LOL.
My sons loved their dad reading "Farmer Boy" by Laura Ingalls Wilder when they were little. Wilder's books are as important today as they were many years ago. God bless, dear heart.
I love my simple life it’s as simple as I can make it for the moment and it’s a wonderful feeling take care Tessie. Love and hugs and many blessings ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Royal Blue suits you. Very pretty. The winter my MIL suddenly died my FIL was spending the night because when we get snow we don’t go anywhere at all. (It usually melts soon). But that night it was -24*, colder than any US city that night. He was sleeping by our fireplace. My husband kept going downstairs to make sure his father was warm. We slept upstairs in all the winter clothes we could find. It was miserable but things can happen in an instant. I am so grateful for my home, water, heat, food. We are more blessed than most of the world We were very fortunate many years ago to hear Francis Schaeffer speak at our church. Many L’Abri speakers came as well as Elizabeth Elliott ❤. My husband went on many mission trips including Ecuador
I like your honesty Tessie. I believe that when I watch your videos it is really you and not a bunch of fake stuff. I understand you need to make income too through your videos but I think that you do it and it is really you. So will you have heat this winter in your big canning garage. Will you be able to make videos in there this winter on snowy days? If so that will be nice because when it is snowy outside sometimes you can feel closed in but if you have things to do and other places that are warm you can work in it helps. I am sure you guys are enjoying the wood burner. What a blessings. God bless ya friend.
Praying for the hurricane victims and all people who are hurting that God meets each need. Thanks Tessie for sharing this video. I love the Little House books. Have a blessed day friend
I love the oil lamp look behind u to my right. Plus the fire. The long winter reminds me of a time of hardness with a wood stove that kept our wood burning but didnt warm us. I think something was wrong there. Im glad your at peace. I realize you may not have time to see my comment. I really appreciate the times you talk. Its good for my soul. ❤Lord bless you and your family ❤
You nailed me Tessie. I am 64 and your videos bring me much comfort. Kudos for embracing your lifestyle. I was not raised Amish but in a “country” lifestyle. It brings back memories of the old days. Ty so much for doing what you love and for being a voice for many of us. Ty and I am so proud of you. You are a great storyteller as well! God bless you my friend.
As a child I sleep in an unheated upstairs, I remember what it's like to have to get out of a warm bed and get to work to warm up. But Iwas still drawn to the back-to-the-land movement, so as an adult I was back to getting out of a warm bed to start the woodstove for the day. It makes you appreciate the simple pleasures.
Wow, Tessie, what a connection! I love the book. We are trying to think outside the box to cut costs in order to survive, as well as remember how our grandparents did frugal things. You taught a great social studies/literature lesson!
The people of North Carolina are proving to us what faith and hard work can do. They aren't waiting for the government to save them, they are getting busy. Yes, this is an excellent book and we should all prepare because it may be the Lord will use us to help others. Blessings, God is Good!
I love this kind of content the most..oil lamp burning, relaxed demeanor and wise words. I'm so glad to see a fire in your woodstove, I've been waiting for that, I sure miss having one. I've read all the Laura Ingalls books years ago to my kids when they were growing up..tough times for sure ! Survival mode kicks in when times get desperate that's for sure..i remember stories of people running out of wood to heat and cook with, and they were burning their wooden furniture..things got so hard at times..times can change in an instant and put us back in those days again. I'm thankful you share all the ways to survive, its very helpful. You are in your element in these types of videos. Take care Tessie 🙂 peaceful evening to all 🌟🕯🌠❤
@@tinacollinsworth9507 Yes! I miss the warmth so much, there's nothing like wood heat. I miss the woodsmoke smell and the crackling of the wood in the fire. 🔥🤗
Choosing to be at peace with where you are in life and be content and appreciate what God has provided brings a happiness and peace most people will never know.
Beautiful Comment Marybeth 😊, You Are SO Right My Friend. Most People Are Chasing After The Newest And Biggest Version Of What They Already Have. I Have Never Understood That! I Totally Agree With Your Comment-- Well Said! GOD Bless, Andrea
Tessie, I enjoy watching you talk about the simple ways in life reading old children's books takes me back to my early days love the simple ways of life :-) Love you my Sister :-) God bless You and Ken :-)
I love you when speak words of wisdom for everyone at Tessie! We love living a simple life now! Unfortunately I can't use my oil lamps in the main house because of the cat and dog but I will be able to in my she-shed when it is done!
God has used the Helene tragedy to change me. We are volunteering a lot in the mountains of NC. Doing something...whatever they need.... So much to share with you, friend, but not here. Thank you for the suggestion of the Long Winter. Just ordered. Hugs
An 'ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE' Is Something That We All Need To Have Tessie! It Usually Takes A Natural Disaster To Make Us Realise Just How Blessed We Are. The Important Thing Is That We CONTINUE TO Count Our Blessings Even After That Event Has Calmed! Blessings, Andrea
Thank you, Tessie. I don't watch much TV or listen to the radio. What I do is read (a lot) and watch a couple of RU-vidrs. You are my favorite. I love the shorter videos, and the wholesome folksy content. Your channel is like a daily visit with a friend. Have a good evening friend! Mary in MN
Tessie I'm so glad you're reading those books. When I first began watching you, you said you only read how-to books or cookbooks and it made me sad because for decades I've read books like the ones you mentioned today and they've made me who I am. I can't imagine my life without the books of Gladys Taber, Laura Ingalls Wilder and other vintage authors like Bess Streeter Aldrich, Ralph Moody, Loula Grace Erdman and others. Each of them share in wonderful ways what life was like for them at the time of the Ingalls and a bit after. Thanks for sharing what you're learning!
I love the little house on the prairie books. I’ve collected them and loved reading them. I’ve found more as time has gone on. Some outside of the regular ones. I enjoy your peaceful videos. It’s a breath of fresh air and also educational.
I have listened to that on audio last winter. That was a really strong family and humble mother and father who kept them through each trial that faced them.
Wisdom God will take care of our needs. Tessie, yes, we need to embrace. A few years ago, I got to go to Wisconsin and see the landthe big woods that they talk about in Little House of the Prairie. It was amazing this massive land. There. Was no gift shop it wasn't like that. It was the big woods, the trees the land and I looked at that and I thought this is where they lived. This is but they had to turn into a place where they could live and stay. Bless you all. much love to Tessie for all that you do. Please pray for loved ones who lost their job. They have children.
Enjoyed the video Tessie It reminds me of what Paul said. In whatsoever situation I find myself in to be content. Your house looks beautiful with hurricane lamp and wood stove! I really miss my stove.❤❤❤❤😊😊
God bless you for sharing about the book The Long Winter. I have been reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books since I was in the third grade. For my birthday in the third grade, my grandparents took me to Mansfield Missouri and bought me the whole set of Laura’s books. I’ve read them all my life and they are the books have helped shape my life and my character. the long winter is my favorite out of all of those books and it is helped me many times to know that I am blessed even during hardships in my life. I just love your channel and the old-fashioned godly life that you live.❤
I think the best thing you can do for your children is to help them to feel empathy. Reading books about those who have survived tough times is a great start to understanding how resilient we are as humans. Getting them involved in helping others -especially those in dire need opens their eyes to the reality of this world. You brought out some very important issues. Something that we ALL need to do is to Stop Complaining & be Grateful! Great Video!
I have always listened to you as i go to sleep at night. You have a calming voice in a time of turbulence. Pray for our country. I miss my little house books i bought back in the early 70s. I may have to check book stores to see if i can replace them.
I must read The Long Winter. I read Amish books to feel calm. They are my favorite. Please continue to share your reading list. Love your posts!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Enjoyed this video as so many are suffering losses on so many areas of their lives. I want to focus on the needs of others and be ever grateful for the blessings that God has provided for me in my senior years. Thanks for sharing your heart today!
Thank you Tessie, I needed to hear this video today. I’m in WNC. Troubled by all I see daily. We have the set of little house on the prairie. Gonna get reading!!
Hi Tessie! What beautiful books! I love the old books. I agree with you, with the world today we never know what could happen. I love the content you make. Amen Tessie!!
I love listening to you after i do my nighttime meditation. I find your voice very soothing. I love your stories that you share with us. I have just started canning due to your wonderful tutorials. Thank you.😊
Tessie this was such an inspiring, informative, and touching video. I am so happy you have found your calling in this you-tube world. You are so right on your thoughts you shared. We all need to be more aware of what we have instead of what we don't have.
Tessie, I love your videos. They are relaxing and informative, especially during these chaotic times. I would enjoy a video on how you light your wood stove, and if there is no electricity during the winter, could you cook on it. We don't know what the future holds nowadays, but being self-reliant is what is important. I know you have plenty of videos on cooking outside, but sometimes during the winter, it rains, and outside cooking isn't something possible. Not all of us have a gas stove, so this is an issue for us. Thank you, and God Bless You Both 🙌 🙏 ❤️.
I keep asking myself what I would do if I were in their shoes. It's horrifying to think about what they went through. It made me realize how good we have it, especially me.
We were reading it before the hurricane hit! It really gave us calm and perspective, so happy we picked it up. The kids have enjoyed it. Even the four year old asks to read it. I think it kept the little ones calm when things got a bit troublesome during and after the hurricane. We were without power for over a week! We just played… “little house” while hauling buckets of water and cooking outside!
Good Evening Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Be sure to hit that like button Tessie will appreciate it Greatly also be sure to watch all the ads :-)
I’ve read all of our Ingles books! So good all of them! I think we may need to take her lessons and use them in the future. These are uncertain times I love your show Tessie.
My son read the whole little house on prairie book series. The boys fell in love with Laura. When my sister Laura visited they were so excited thinking their Laura was to visit!!
I think your videos take many of us to a time and place where life was more simple, and we long to have that in our lives today. I'm glad that God made you to be who you are and to share your thoughts and your wisdom about so many different things with others. You're a blessing & a sweet inspiration to a lot of people!😊💖
I love this kind of video, personally. In fact, last year I was watching some videos that had your oil lamps in them. I then had my mother hunt me down a lamp, and she also ended up giving me one of hers also. So, now I have two. To me, there is nothing better than lighting, the lamps and a couple of candles, turning off the lights, drinking a hot cup of coffee and listening to low volume classical music. I find it to be so cozy.
My grandmother was born in 1900. She was thankful to have electricity because they used kerosene lamps and the smell was pretty bad. They had an outhouse till they got indoor plumbing. She went through the depression that left a permanent scar on her psych. Like collecting little pieces of string in her 80s. We're blessed as a nation to have what we have here. How many people can do without electricity, a car , television or a phone, running water and bathroom?
Good morning. I just watched little house on RU-vid a few nights ago. They have seven episodes. They also have a Christmas Waltons episode. I'm ready to start decorating for Christmas now! Lol.
