I am blown away by how you work, how the children are learning so many skills, by your beautiful photographing, by your talented”children” … you guys are great!
What a great fence. I'm so proud of the way you all work together and get stuff done. Looking forward to seeing Ashley's Dad again. What a blessing he is.
Ya, everything they all said, you're spectacularly productive, smart, your kids are great, everyone is cute, but really, More cats! More shots of them and longer ones!
Congratulations adali on your big blue shipping container and on getting the fence put back up I cant wait to watch your plans come together...thankyou famz for being a great famz and helping with everything cant wait for pop to get there and do all his things for his grannie...❤
Howdy to all the Homies . WOW- WHAT A DAY ! pad / container/ new fencing with new systems/ fiber optics AND SUSHI !!! cant wait to see DAD come and take it up another notch with al the layouts /cutting./welding /grinding/ painting and more shots of Adeli trying to contain her joy ( and failing beautifully )
We are about to do fencing on our property and have ZERO experience other than being a set of hands to pull wires with BlazeAid after the 2019 Black Summer Bushfires. I think we need to sit down and take a look at all of your fencing videos before we get this project underway. Im so glad you guys are getting so much done. Congratulations its looking wonderful :)
For every job in building the garden it seems like I walk back to the shed for one more tool. About six times. No problem getting miles in. Your homestead is much larger, so LOTS of miles.
You all work together like one persons, each knowing what to do.Its a joy to watch.I was astounded how fast you got the fence set up and working. It looks neat and tidy too.Great job guys. One step closer to having your goats Adelaide I an so pleased your dream is coming true. You all worked so hard too.Love n Hugs 🥰
I am glad to see that someone had the same idea as I did for shipping container animal shelters. Building barns and stuff from wood can be bleep’n expensive so why not reuse shipping containers, you just have to remember to put enough air vents and stuff in them to keep the air circulating for the animals. I have plans to use a 10 foot container for my chicken coop and other 10 containers for shelters for my goats while they are out in the pasture. Also have plans for other size containers for other animals but those will come later on, I am starting with chickens and rabbits first then may expand as I get use to the animals.
Super happy for you Adali!! Your goat barn dream is coming true. Congratulations!! The container looks awesome! I do think you all should raise it up with a jack & add some more blocks, because I saw on another RU-vid content creator’s videos, after about a year, their’s had sunk significantly. They jacked it up & added pads like yours under their cinder blocks to spread the weight, but I’m worried just 1 pad will sink even though the weight is spread out. I hope that makes sense. The fence looks awesome! Another aerial shot please? So much love to your family, from Oregon ♥️ Jessi
Happy to see this project coming together fast. Can't wait to see the cutting and welding on the container. While it has taken you away from the house build, having the animals secured in a better place is very exciting. The fencing looks amazing!
I've said it before, you all work so well together! I love that! What a job that was electric fencing a whole Acre! That's 4,840 square yards! Amazing! Well done y'all! I can't imagine how long it took to fence the whole property when y'all first moved there. Sending love from Wichita, Kansas! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey watching you do the fencing made me miss fixing fencing on our old acreage. There is actually a little tool that does help with twirling the wire around on itself. It’s a small (6”) with a small hole on one end and you just insert the wire and start twirling. Cheaper than the crimping parts and probably just as fast. Love the clean lines at the corners.
Great job on the fence moving! Congratulations, Johnathan for winning the bet and I know you’ll do the right thing and take everyone for a great day off adventure 😉😆 You all work so hard, every day, to achieve your goals! Thanks for your gift of sustainability to our beautiful planet!
Awesome video guys glad to see the project come to life! Im currently planning to fence an acre myself. Im thinking of doing a 6ft wall with 8in hyper adobe bags for the acre. What do you guys suggest or think about this idea thanks guys keep up the good energy! Yeehyehh
ATV? Have you heard about those foreign (Suzuki, Mitsubishi, etc) little trucks that you can import for like $2500 - $5000? See the truck "Sow The Land" picked up. 👍
Here's the link to the mini truck I was talking about if your interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RCjom4SJ7mw.htmlfeature=shared
Nice fence work. I need to install my electric fence. I’ve had it for over 6 months but I am still uncertain about how to go around the corners and start the next row. Do all the rows tie in together or do I cut each row and start over? Thanks for sharing.
6:42 Look up back wrapping, or over under coiling. You know how you have to twist to get it to coil? If you twist one way for one coil, and then the other way for the next coil, it will stay flat, and will uncoil straight with it just laying on the ground. I did find one example for an audio cable, but it works on all wire and cable. ru-vid.comRE-z5UteKfc
Guessing you haven’t worked with high tensile fence before. The only way it stays in place is on a spinning Jenny. Way too much tension even when it’s coiled properly.
@@TinyShinyHome Have worked with high tensile fences, aircraft cable for overhead rigging, huge multi channel lighting cables, flex conduit, hoses and many more. Yes, for machine wound cable, that is wrapped only one direction, you have to use a spool, but when it is reused, or coiled for later use, under over is the best way. It coils flat and can be laid on the ground and will uncoil evenly without whooptiwoos or kinks.
I had first wanted to mention this when you were struggling with the tubing for your berm and swale watering system, but did not say anything because I knew the video was posted well after you had completed the project. I assume this was posted well after the fencing was complete, but decided to say something this time. The same principle applies to the tubing as well as the wires. They have a natural twist to them and will want to coil in a specific way. If you try to coil all in one direction, but are not machine spooling them onto a spool,, they will want to twist out. I assume others thought it was too late so did don't say anything about swaging tools and ferrules for your fence. I am happy you now have learned about those too. I started working with those back in the '80s. I am sorry for trying to be helpful, but Don't tell grandma how to suck eggs.
Hello sorry my OCD on fence building is screaming at you for using the wrong terminology for the "U NAILS", the name of them is the same as when you put several sheets of paper together. The proper term is STAPLES!!!!! OR FENCE STAPLES.
lol i hate the jobs that you do tons of work and it looks like you really done very little to nothing . well not you but just in general . you know what i mean im sure . congrats on the extra land .
@@TinyShinyHome A wood frame goat barn on pavers with wood floor and large open windows with night shutters and a tin (aluminum) roof could be 20' x 20'. Cutting/welding windows in an echo-ey dark container is a pain in the ass by comparison!
I’m feeling so happy for you. The way your family comes together to get a job completed is amazing. You all make hard work fun. And everyone supports each other’s dreams. What an amazing and inspiring family you are.✌🏻❤️🙏🏻
Congratulations. You all absolutely deserve all the help you get. You share so much knowledge with all of us. Your lives are very difficult. I see how hard your family works every day.
how to build & install a fence ? wow ,you past the test you all. great instruction while building & putting it together .so happy to be part of it .Max
The nice thing about containers is that you can unload them on a hillside and then level them and place concrete piers or pilings after the fact. Lifting and supporting one end at a time is usually no big deal with a high lift jack and temporary supports while the work is going on. The process can be kept fairly safe.
Congratulations on getting your project funded. I wish y'all the best in every project that you do. May GOD strengthen your bodies to do all that you have to do. Very gifted family. 💖
Okay Jonatha✨️, here's your opportunity to get a golf cart🛺. Loaded up for one job site and you won't have to run back and forth to get something that you have forgotten. And one more thing the tree that's hanging over the electric fence. Would a coyote🦊 or a dog🐺 be able to climb up that tree and jump over the fence attack your livestock🐄 your chicken🐔🐓🐤, your goats🐐🐖 whatever you have🦃🙃. you know best🌿🕊 good luck Adeline on your new project. You are a beautiful family. SEE YOU ALL ON THE NEXT VIDEOS..
bonjour la famille. it's Sunday morning here in the north of France. it's been raining of late and the fact the Jonathan is in shorts is killing me. my legs have not seen the outside of the house since Octobre 2023. as for the project, well done indeed. y'all get it done. it was all hands on deck type of work project and everyone contributed adequately. lady ashley, many thanks for the orange skies. as much as i love so much the content, the orange skies make me giggle inside. a calm souvenir of my youth. merci beaucoup. lastly, Jonathan has hops !!! an ATV with a trailer would be a nice addition ... a time saver.
Every time you mention needing an ATV, I think about the fact that I have a Polaris Ranger 570, two seater, sitting on my friends property not being used (because I ended up not being able to develop my property, next door). If I lived closer (I'm in Yuma), I would definitely loan it to you. I also have a golf cart that mom used to use to go rock hunting (until I bought the Ranger), that I need to get rid of (needs batteries). Amazingly, the golf cart does well out in the desert, just air down the tires. You can still get stuck, but if you choose your route wisely when crossing a wash, odds are you won't. Full disclosure, even with mom's experience, I have had to dig, and or pull her out on occasion.
Repeat after me. You nailed, I nailed, we nailed the Spanish windlass cable to the posts with fencing staples.Yep they are called that in the states to I just checked with home depot Ewe nail or should that be Yew nail or You nail or U nail or Uoo nail or Uwe nail any more variants on offer.🙃
Hey! If you are interested in some advice on shipping container usage, I work at a Tiny House Village in Seattle where they use them for a kitchen space and a community room and would be happy to share my advice on the pitfalls of using a shipping container as a place that humans and animals will be in. There are some very important things to know about ventilation and insulation. Only offering if you haven't already researched this.
@@TinyShinyHome not a problem! Exactly why I asked. Never want to offer advice if you're already on it. The people who put together our containers were NOT! 😬
So happy to hear about the fiber optic Internet is coming to your area. It’s not often that I feel like government projects affect me personally. The Bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Contains so many projects that will help so many people in the United States. No matter what your political affiliation is, all these projects add up to so many paid hours for people who need jobs. It makes me happy whenever you mention it. I’m so glad that it will be helping you With your channel.
@TinyShinyHome did you have to get a permit for the shipping container and using the blocks (I was going to do piers too) and who did you talk to about using blocks to put the container on (sure glad I watched this video because now I know they can't put them on piers)
I'm so glad you got your shipping container! nice, concrete piers for it. Digging up a plant! Wow, so much prep work because you can't use piers! I'm glad you didn't get much done before you found out it wouldn't work. I liked the "sun dog" behind you head Ashley when you were talking about moving the fence. Lots of fencing wire to wind up. I like the blocks. USA Containers! Yay, you got it there and level! Why three holes at the bottom of every t-post? Baby goats? I'm glad the ground was soft! What a push to get the fence lines run! Nice, you found an easier way to attach the wires together! I like those cable crimp ties. It's all back together, yay! Darn, I missed the donation because I couldn't fill out the form? Thanks for this video Longnecker family!
I am in awh with Grandpa's skills and how quickly he helped jump-started the container for Adali. Ashley, you're such a wonder woman! The skills to weld also? Impressive! Can't wait to see continued episode. ❤
I always thought addili would be the next doctor doolittle .. a book deal on goat husbanrey .. seven years vet school.. quick tour of england with a guest appearance on all creatures great and small ..then back to eemerica for jimmy fallon show milkin goats till the cow come home.. then run for congress .. then a six year stint in the white house..simples 😁my only question is ..this spinning jenny ..is she related to lazy Susanne..😁..pip pipz n carryon pilgrims.
Hey Adlai, congrats on this. I love how your whole family is getting behind you as well as all the contributors. Looking forward to the next, keep up the great work.
I thought that you would only be looking for 1 or 2 extra posts. I guess that you left part of the old fence in place. I am sure that I could use the old twist method at the Gripples, as quickly as you use the crimps and that also saves $$, but then I have done many KM of fencing, so practice helps.
I'm a bit confused (and a little disappointed) by the fact that Jett didn't go ahead and give us an electrified fence demonstration. Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I
