I feel like it gets a boost here simply because this is a show that doesn’t seem like the kind to have such a massive moment. It’s something a lot of people associate with more action filled or romantic shows rather than a comedy.
That's a great voice actor right there. Yes it is nice when one who can only really do their own voice gets cast in just the right roles, but I love it when a voice actor is able to voice multiple characters and still sound unique with each one. That's one of the most impressive things about this show as a whole is that the VA cast isn't very big for all the characters it has.
I like how many Star Wars references went into this. Vent that leads straight to the core, solid gold death stars, and a zombie (voiced by Mark Hamill) flying a TIE fighter.
This is one of my favorite moments in the series! The theme music, everyone coming together, and Hermes proving how badass he still is after being shat on for the entire special
The Battle for Earth is honestly one of my top moments in the series. It didn't take itself too seriously, with lots humor in the battle but it also made sure to show how grand the battle was
I strongly prefer the ending where he destroys the reapers, as it should have been. Personally I think my ending would have been to make the citadel a weapon of some sort. Or maybe a reaper even, but now programmed to attack the others
hermes is actually amazing he destroyed the sleezy naked scammers, got benders brain back, is the reason bender even passed inspection and is just a really great guy
I always love the trope of something small being sent in to destroy something massive, and it seems like it did nothing until the entire massive target gets annihilated.
The rest of this scene and the use of the theme is great but the missiles little tune gets me replaying this a lot for some reason; it’s strangely and uniquely pleasant
Phil Lamarr: "Okay, what do you want me to do?" "Just grunt into the microphone a few times and we'll put it to music." Phil: "At least I'm not getting shot in the face."
***** Yay! I'm excited because, .1 I thought this video wasn't visible to people because the copyright thingy was kinda confusing, but now I know it works! .2 Thank you for giving me positive feedback! You are looking at the lowest stage of a RU-vidr, and it's people like you that matter. Thank you. Am I getting too deep? I'm getting too deep...
Andrew Kovnat 2 Years later, and I'm still watching... (I was the original commenter, this is my new "main") this scene is seriously freaking fantastic, I miss this show.
Loved this scene. Seeing all our beloved characters from throughout the series, friends and foes, all working together to save the Earth. It's corny. It's cheesy. But it's a masterpiece all the same
I remember when this first aired back in the day. This is one of my favorite shows and I hate that it ended. I especially love this scene. You can't tell me when the ship came together and start shooting you didn't get a chill. I do everything I watch this part. I was like yeeeeeah!
My fav part of this is when Hermes said “Its Hermes time!” and then proceeded to Herm all over the place! This movie more than deserves the Hermillion dollars it made opening weekend! 😂
When I watched this episode, I knew they had something big planned for hermes, I swear when they attached him to the ship for this scene, I screamed with joy a tiny bit
In war the greatest advantage is not in the largest army, or the most powerful weapon, but to those who are able to provide logistics and coordination within their forces
this sums up my go to battle plan whenever possible. just concentrate all firepower on one thing at a time. works 99% of the time in 99% of situations.
I've seen this movie dozens of times, but I've never clued in to the Globetrotters gun, it's lifted from Dune, the Emperor and the Burseg's were using it during the final battle.
Lol sounds more like the bureaucrats in star wars that led to many plot points like not firing at the escape pod with droids just cuz it had no life forms in it. Least Hermes knew that against scammers, gotta do whatever it takes against them.
I just keep having to remind myself that all of this is being done by Hermes every ship every shot every little detail Hermes and the fact the music is supposedly being played by Hermes brain as well through the ship is absolutely insane
+prevent 8 It's better to end a series while its popularity is high. Besides, there wasn't much more for the characters to do, particularly after we saw Fry and Leela marry.
I can't believe I only just realised this but this is the "Unite to destroy the villain with a massive attack while the theme song plays" trope you almost never see outside of anime. Someone on the writing staff knew what they were doing
After the show having been off the heir for several years when this came out, it was so great to finally here the theme song kick in again! Especially in a awesome scene like this!
