I was his friend for years up until his death. No one knew more than Elvis did how much he screwed up, he owned everything that he did in his life he blamed no one but himself for the shape he was in, and the choices he made. Priscilla also owns her part in the ending of their marriage she and i still talk a lot the loss of Lisa broke her. Elvis and i spoke a few times before his death he was the big brother i never had. We both needed a friend and we were that for each other. The memories we made in 10 short years are locked away in my heart forever. The last time we spoke we cried a lot because we both knew he was living on borrowed time he called me kiddo he said kiddo everything will be ok i said no it wouldn't because you will not be here anymore. He gave me the biggest hug and that sweet smile i will never forget. 3 days later he was gone and i will never get over it.
I could never get tired of listening to his music. He has a beautiful voice. God bless him. I know that he still loved Priscilla and she loved him to to this day.
He loved Cilla so much and she loved him wish they could have made it back to each other .People can say he didn't love her but this song proves it .He had his girlfriend in the Audience and still called out Cilla
This is the song that rips me up every single time I hear it. Not only do his silky smooth vocals envelop you in a warm embrace, but add to that his impassioned plea for Priscilla to listen to his words and it's all just so overwhelmingly powerful. She was in the audience at that show and in that moment he bared his soul to her - as if not a single other person was around. He was singing just to her. The song was released in late September of '74 and he was performing it just a few weeks ahead of the release date. So here we have Elvis who is publicly living with Linda Thompson during this timeframe (1972-1976), and also being public about a relationship with Sheila Ryan during that muddy timeline, and who knows how many other undisclosed ones...and it's his former wife that he's calling out to and pouring his heart out to.
There are two Elvis Presley's. One the entertainer and two a private family man who loved his wife and child. He gave so much to his audience that many times he must have felt exhausted and there wasn't much left to give to his family but it was and is obvious that he loved his family so much. Such a wonderful human being. To me, he is a wonder of a man with a God given talent that no one can match. I mean no one.
There will never be another! He had such a voice! When you listened to his songs they all had meaning. I believe he was afraid of having nothing again so he just kept pushing himself. He gave of himself to make many others have to the point that he lost what meant most to him. So sad such a humble man with such a big heart to die so young.I have been a fan since I was 7 years old. So grateful for all his music I never get tired of listening to Elvis!!
