The only thing he got wrong is that this guy clearly ISN'T gonna figure it out himself. Like, the only reason this guy isn't simping for Raid anymore is 'cuz he supposedly got banned for running an auto-clicker.
When he was using the fact that they will add more things to the store to justify is not pay to win bhahahahaahhahaha dear lord, that only means the whales gonna keep buying stuff and even if you are able to get the good stuff is going to be already obsolete, ppl that don't pay money or grind like chines farmers are gonna be left in the dust hahahaha I totally lost it with that comment, not that he is making any kind of good argument against the fact is pay to win, this dude is either a complete idiot, blizz is paying him under the table to keep some face and good pr or he knows making a video that is so complete bonkers it will bring him a huge amount of views... my guess is a combination of last 2, don't think he is an idiot since he is actually getting a lot of attention with this.
Used to watch Stew when I played Raid: Shadow Legends...Let him rope me into believing a lot of the packs were "Worth", claiming he was F2P, while he had 100s of thousands of dollars in the game. It was also leaked that him and another content creator were getting Legendary heroes for free to advert which caused a big fall out on the forums and Google reviews at the time. This guy is as delusional as they come when it comes to paying money on games. 100% doubt he is F2P on this dumpster fire.

The guy switched from raid copium to diablo copium what do you expect ;) I watched some of his content when i was playing raid and most of the time it was either wrong , clueless or copied content from other creators just like him who push out guides after guides for every new thing hoping for a sponsor deal
i love how this dudes entire argument is just immediately debunked by riches clip where he spent 12k one shotting everything and taking literally no damage in pvp
Except that is low rank pvp, I have seen other people do 18/6 at lvl 39 Necromancer btw, they're pretty strong. Once you get up everyone is a whale and then all of a sudden the P2W aspect means nothing, they're paying to compete.
@@darkangel5672 nope, there is P2W in this game, it's a mobile game after all. However you can play this game without paying and still have fun in it. I have also been playing Raid for 3 years now without spending much. I still enjoy the game without competing at the highest tier. In comparison I probably spent 5 times that amount on LoL when I played.
If you love Diablo Immortal so much but don't want to deal with microtransactions, just buy Diablo 3 instead. It's already been documented that there are items in Diablo Immortal that cannot be obtained in any way that doesn't involve spending money.
@@sadfar2478 Back then when i watching video about that, man said next "There is more tiers of those 5/5 gems than you think guys, so basically to get those improved Tier gems you need to sell your soul as a F2P player. @Nooch Sauce Unfortunately I have seen people saying that Immortal is way better than d3, which is very weird. I feel like D3 still gets unnecessarily shit on despite being in a good place for years since RoS launched. The other side being that it feels like 50% or more of Immortal is a simple D3 copy/paste job anyway. I played it, and had fun, but I don't know how you call Immortal even close to being what D3 is.

Wait, it is a mobile game tho and it was always, even infamously so, advertised as a mobile game... Its a terrible pay to win game but we all knew it would be mobile quality... because its a mobile game with no ports to PC or console.
I still can not fathom why people like this guy have it in their heads that a few measly consumables in a video game like this are "worth" the same amount of money as a top tier (full) video game on steam.
He says he mainly reviews mobile app games so in that context these kind of transactions are normal to him and he's probably desensitized to the idea that the cost/value is entirely arbitrary.
He is mobile player not pc gamer. I bet his brain would explode how f2p games are in pc compare to average cp games. Mobile games earn more than pc and console for a reason.
Bruh, does this "gamer" never play a real 20$ or 40$ game? Sure it is f2p, but those F2P always temptate you to spend 100$ 1000$ 10.000$ even 100.000$, those ain't funny.

Not just that, Diablo Immortal has pretty much the worst/predatory monetization available on the (mobile) gaming market as of now. The only thing missing is having to purchase Immortal in order to even see the title screen.
my take is that he knows exactly what he is doing. he is just farming a topic that is hot and even knowing he is on the wrong side he doesnt care because we will profit out of it anyways.
I do pvp just fine f2p tbh in BG there's whales but there's plenty of other players to kill and paying money for stats doesn't mean you can play your class

The game is "Free to play" as in you can play it for free, yet in reality the game cost Blizzard millions of dollars to develop. Developers worked their asses off to make the game, even if you hate Blizzard for being scummy. What he's saying is for a free AAA game $20 is worth it. Don't forget that most Triple AAA games are around $60.00, so if you actually loved this game, you could technically even justify spending $60.00 just to help the developers out.
@@evanwilson9906 this game is worth like $20 tops. Also, you can pay the devs and the studio without it being predatory monetization. Mobile games just like this exist and make millions. Don’t be dense.

What's great is no matter what a f2p player does, they literally can't ever reach the same power as a paying player even assuming flawless RNG because you have to pay for awakened legendaries, which provide pretty damn good bonuses. Literally pay to win per any definition, power that a non paying player is unable to get. Even if they play 14 hours a day. (which is pretty fucking stupid with the amount of soft caps in this game)
Well, I mean, it really depends on what you're competing on. See, if you're competing on winning, well, you know that might not go so great... but, if you're competing at who can lose harder or faster, or just playing a raw number of hours doing the same thing over and over, well then, you got a pretty good chance because that's basically what the whales are doing... the same thing, over and over in a very uninspired and boring shit show. Then again, maybe you could be competing at eating Subway sandwiches, or smoking cigarettes or falling asleep and literally face rolling the game, , or any combination of those, and I'd have to say "yeah, it's probably some pretty stiff competition between the free to play and the kraken class"... 😂
People like that guy are the reason they get away with this bullshit. These people should be ashamed of themselves. This man said "I love the way the games are monetized"...
yeah, seriously messed up the people that think a subpar experience for all except the highest payers is even remotely fine F2P monetization models can be done well if it's only holding back on some cosmetics that are side-grades to what's in game or something like FFXIV or ESO where it's giving you access to later story & content zones, and even improvements made for late game benefit those F2P too
He means he can also run rifts, just like someone who spends money, which is true. But you aren't getting 10 gems every time. So EXP and Blue+Yellow Gear-wise you are doing the same thing... Clicking on the screen and killing monsters. Just the result is vastly different
He can do literally same quests same dungeons raids only difference is getting obliterated in PvP. No difference at all if you pay or not for the content in the game you just kill shit faster but the stuff isn't even hard to begin with.
I think we have found the apex shill. The kind of guy who would unironically get a plot on crypto island. he might even be the one guy who unironically likes Picard on twitter. ( and of course, he is a mobile game dev)
Ah hes a mobile dev. Opinion entirely discarded. It's like asking a guy who works at a used car lot if the car for sale is good. Of course he will say yes
Here's the thing. He can say all that and make it that high because, as he says himself, he has nothing better to do than to play this game for 13 hours a day every day. And the fact that he's STILL not keeping up with the whales speaks volumes more than anything that is coming out of his mouth. The average player isn't going to play 13 hours a day every day. They'll barely play 4 consistently. This is his job. The rest of us are busy with our jobs away from CPUs and diablo. So we will never catch up. That's what he's not saying. I want him to play for only 2 hours a day without knowing the most optimal mechanics (because the average player isn't going to know every nook and cranny of this game) and see how far he gets.
I mean it's fun to play the game for such a long time ... and I DO mean with passion. Not treating it like a god damn full-time job trust me, I grinded in Granblue in 10 hours straight with no rest and I still felt like I need therapy.
I play DI casually and have fun doing so, and generally I hate mobile gacha gaming. I beat the campaign, doing "end game" now farming dungeons for sets and other gear. I even got a 3/5 gem. Didn't spend a cent and never felt like I have to. I don't think average casual players care about leaderboards or PvP all that much. I know I don't, so ironically, whaling, p2w is like non issue for me, unlike it is for people like Asmon who play games 14 hours and care about being #1. I view this game as junk food. There's no way the "average" gamer only plays 2 hours a day. The amount of time a "gamer" plays usually correlates with age/responsibilities, if you're younger you play games more often because you have less responsibilities (like me).

It's sad to see the downfall of Stew. When he was making content for raid consistently, he would make teams as f2p as possible compared to the other creators. He isn't dumb to say the least but holy shit is he COMPLETELY wrong about DI. The writing was on the wall when he wasn't critical of the game like he was with raid before launch. Sadly his current mentality is rampant in mobile gaming content creators. They've gotten so used to being bent over with microtransations they try and justify every game they play. The copium is real with him and that's sad to see.
You know why he wasn't critical before release, it's because he's on the forefront of mobile gaming sponsors. He'll be hurting his brand, and livelihood by being as ass like asmon.
You know he's desperate when his defence for anti-f2p design is "i bet they will fix it later." If they really do then that's great, but we're not talking about a game that we may have in the future, we're talking about the game we have now. Speculation has no place here.
Eventually normal players will be able to get access to the highest levels right around the time a new tier will be introduced. It is all psychological to get as much money as possible
He's contradicting himself on the reason why it's not paid to win. Him: "I'm right now on the same level as the whales without paying." Also him: "I'll be on the same level as the whales in like two months." That's the definition of Paid to win, trowing money at the game to get better.

I played an "app game" once. The big whales in my kingdom forced everyone else to spend all of their free gold not on upgrades but on the anti-pvp shield so we could keep some resources. Later kingdom vs kingdom opened up and our whales could not keep our kingdom from constantly serving another king, because he spent even more. One year later their biggest whale still beat all our whales combined, and one of our whales could (if they wanted) still raid all of the free or normal paying players that didn't keep the pvp shield without taking losses. The fact that old powerful stuff eventually become available to free or normal paying players doesn't mean the whale still can't crush and infinite number of us, because at the same time some new tier of item is released that keeps him untouchable.
We're at a crossroads here. The tactics Diablo Immortal is employing here aren't new tactics. Blizzard didn't think of this on their own. Eastern audiences have been dealing with these sorts of monetisation schemes for a long time now, almost to the point where it's normalised in their gaming industry. The difference is that DI is now trying to bring these scams (let's call it what they are) to the western audience and set a dangerous precedent that Genshin Impact opened the door to. It's much harder to fight this once we're used to being exploited (much like how eastern gaming has become) then it is right now at the cusp of being exploited. F2p games have many ways to be fair with their monetisation, and we see a lot of good examples in both eastern and western gaming. These games don't need to employ these tactics to make money. They just want to because it makes them more money. And we'll suffer for it.
Yeah, in my mind, League has always done it perfectly. I've always been F2P, and while I never was competitive, I never felt like I lacked for anything other than skins. But with the "loot box" system now, I went from a total of 7 skins in the first 7 years (3 gifted, 4 freebies) to 63 in the last 5 years (70 total) and 58 of those in the last 3 years. So this is one of the few cases that loot boxes actually improved the game experience, oddly.
@@andreytsybiskin6831 I've noticed. I've played a lot of Gacha games, and other similarly styled games. But there's a difference between a game being on the western market and made for western audiences. The games you see on the mobile market are made for eastern audiences, and expanded to the western market. Even RAID is the same. DI is an IP that has firm roots in the western audience and was built and marketed for them. This is wildly different from transporting an IP from say China to the western marketplace. It sets up a precedent to turn other IPs into the same cash grabs and degrade the gaming market we're used to. If this is normalised you could see this in Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls, Pokemon, GTA and so on. We have already started to be encroached by malicious monetisation tactics in other games, sure. But they face repercussions for their actions. It's completely different from the eastern audience where it's already normalised, who no longer even recognise they're being exploited.

After finishing the video I just can't believe how conditioned this person is to believe the game "is good", he believes getting completely and utterly destroyed by whales is ok because eventually you will fall down again and play with people of your level. It's unreal to see something like this.
I followed this person when i picked up raids shadow legends 3 yrs ago. This guy used to enjoy the abomination that is raid shadow legends. So yea, no wonder why he seems to have no complaints against this cashgrab that is immortal.
Stew Gaming is a long time official Raid shadow legends content creator who was kicked out of the program for cheating with cheat engine about 1 year or so ago
I did a little bit of research into it, and couldn't find any videos to support your claim. I found videos of his covering cheaters, but nothing about him cheating. On top of that, he is taking the company who made raid to court over a copywrite strike they gave him. This option is available to all content creators, but most of them just end of complaining for content. It's nice to see people actually fight abusive claims. Tldr I went in looking for more negativity, but my respect went up 1% for him
Context matters so your comment is kind of disingenuous. Engineowning was being used in raid for years for people to change the speed of the game and cheat in arena. People using this speed hack had an advantage at the end of every arena reset to complete arena fights faster and therefore win platinum arena. This was an issue for a long time and Plarium was doing nothing to address it. Stew made a video showing people how to do it and encouraging it to force Plariums hand and actually do something to fix it. They didn't like that Stew did this and in turn kicked him out of the content creator program. Some may not agree with how he went about it, but not so long after Plarium actually started handing out bans for using it and implemented a way to detect people using it. That's a lot different than just saying "Stew was cheating using this so he got kicked out of the program".
@@Mike_Dubayou I have been on off watching Stew for a few years now but have no interest in diablo so am not watching now. The raid devs always hated Stew (And anyone else who did this also) because he would call them out on shit all the time. The speed hack and arena exploiters were the two main ones i remember plus the general lack of new content and QoL like hero space. This resulted in getting excluded and ignored a lot as the raid devs wanted pure yes people and of course a legion of people who have made raid their life (seemingly much like Stew now has with diablo) looking for anything and everything to take them down for daring to speak bad about their game. Which results in posts like this one.
Can "Stew" be the new term for someone shilling for something they don't even directly benefit from, just because they're delusional or don't want to admit they were wrong to begin with?

He's literally a sales pitch planted by the company off record to save face in the public eye. Dude speaks like a master politician and public speaker. The "stupid look on his face" comment comes from a guy who works psychological angles on people mentally. Like a car insurance adjustor.
Okay I’m actually curious what you mean by, “like a car insurance adjuster.” That comment had no supporting evidence to elaborate on it, and I’m curious how it ties in to this dude’s delusions of mobile gaming being fine.
Yup, f2p players can do whatever whales can do. Except a few simple things such as: -getting 3+ star gems more than twice a month. -sell gems -do dmg -win
Yes because someone who plays 13 hours a day and is in the middle of the pack progress wise is definitely good representation of the average player. When D3 came out the people who played 13 hours a day were the ones who were doing world first events, getting to lvl 60 first, getting to nightmare hell inferno first. Imagine how far along someone is who plays a conservative 6 hours a day(generous af). Now imaging how far someone is who plays 2-3 hours a week. The sheer fact that you are a 13hour/day player and still middle of the pack just shows how much of a boost people get when they pay
He has a huge financial incentive to promote the idea that F2P is a great thing and that you totally can get to where the whales are. Just watch his vids and follow the top 10 tricks whales don't want you to know and you'll be stomping them in pvp in no time. Just so everyone knows. StewGaming has spent 1000's of dollars on Raid: Shadow Legends. Hes also 100% wrong about diablo immortal. the only way diablo immortal will be "Updated" is when blizzard starts losing money on the game. Hes also now saying P2W is destroying diablo immortal... but at the same time hes not... hes acknowledging that there is 100% a pay to win mechanic but at the same time hes trying to cover it up and make it look like he is on equal footing with a whale? Honestly, I've played Diablo Immortal every day since release, spending less than I did on the initial purchase of D3. Game is a lot of fun, but it does slow down, you could call the legendary gems soft capped due to scarcity, and there is a hard pay wall when you get to gear awakening. Idk how much longer I'll keep going with everything slowing down, but until then I've had a lot of fun playing this game. Just sad I won't be able to play this for years like I did D3
I think he's 100% right. Legendary crests will be unlocked for F2P players. As soon as Legendary+ Crests are available on store. And then those will be available to free users once Godlike Crests are available. And so the cycle will happen, F2P will forever be behind whales because they want new shit for whales to compete with every season.
i mean, he's not wrong when he sais that he's there, doing the same stuff that the whales are doing. you're all running the same fucking rifts because that's all there is to the game.
The claim he spends more time on the game than whales do is probably pretty accurate. He's spending 13 hours a day on this thing outright streaming. Most people who are spending money on this game? They have jobs. They go out and work to earn a living and to make enough money to spend on the thing. If you're looking at the big spenders, you're probably looking at a proportionally high income. Many of these people have friends, functioning social lives and actually haven't got 13 hours of time to spend on the game without eating into their sleep. Does that mean he'll be better than those who spent money on this game? Hah, no. But it's probably a fair assumption that most people spending large amounts of money on the game don't have 13 hours each day, every day to burn on it.
Stew is originally a raid shadow legend Content Creator, which explains why he doesn't care. Which makes it even worse, because RSL can take years to put an update wanted by the players. HE knows that Diablo Immortal is pay to win but he doesn't care. And yes, the situation is going to get better because they'll have to allow F2P to get ressources, but it's still going to be P2W. And he forgets people don't want to play a game hoping the situation will get better 2 months later. And he is forgetting once of the most basic things, which is people didn't want an app game to begin with.
