Dan has been lead singer in Orions Reign and of course his own band Fearless... this Tribute was special Andre Matos of Angra passed away suddenly from a heart attack at just 47 years of age on 8th June 2019.. Dan was devastated by the sudden loss of a friend and hero of his... Angra really were quite brilliant.. great reaction as per usual

This is such a beautiful tribute to Andres. He held a special place in Dan's heart which he expressed with so much sadness at the end of this song. We at VascNation would all have loved to comfort him when Andres passed. Losing someone when you know it's coming and won't be long is hard enough. But when it's sudden and unexpected, it knocks the wind out of you. Thank you for your respectful reaction. ❤
Thank you for watching! You are right. My father passed suddenly at the age of 56 of a major heart attack. He had been otherwise healthy, and even worked in a hospital. It was completely unexpected. That was nearly 19 years ago, and I still have a hard time with it.
Definitely not easy when you're only 25 when you lose one. As much as it hurts me, it breaks my heart more that my kids didn't get to know him. He only got to be a grandfather for one year before he passed (to my oldest), and he was amazing at it. It saddens me that he didn't get more time, and my kids are missing that. 😔
@@Savage-Reactions It was so not fair to lose your dad when you were so young and so was he. No matter our age we all feel like orphans when it happens. All we can do is adjust and go on. Eventually some measure of peace comes. ❤️
There is a video on the tuberverse of Dan performing this song live onstage with Edu Falaschi, I believe the beginning of the video is Edu talking about Andre, and introducing the other musos, including Luis Mariutti, but not entirely sure as it's in Portuguese, which I don't speak. The video quality is about 90% but still very watchable. Dan more than equips himself and the crowd seems to be very supportive of him being there. As Dan said, Andre was a very important part of his musical development, and from what I've been able to find, a truly gifted and skilled muso. It's always sad to lose someone who means so much to so many people ... That astral choir certainly has some incredibly brilliant members in the line-up ☺️ 🙃🐨🇦🇺
You can watch Dan doing this song in live concerts by Luis Mariutti. Dan seems to love being on stage singing this song. It is a treat. There is also a recording of Luis and his band practicing this song with Dan singing.

First, excellent reaction, even with the flies! I guess even they like Dan's music! I second all the requests for a Wuthering Heights and a Fairy Tale reaction. They're both brilliant songs! Third, to really experience the brilliance of Andre Matos, I highly recommend reactions to Fairy Tale: Ritualive version, I Will Return on the Andre Matos channel, and The Spreading Soul Forever by Viper on Viper's channel. Andre was absolutely amazing, from what I've seen and heard about him. Sadly, I never heard of him until I started listening to Dan, and since that wasn't until 9/15/20, Andre was already gone by then. Keep the great reactions coming! I watch way more than I comment on! If you want to hear Dan do a whole song in high falsetto check out his Wuthering Heights cover. You might think it’s whiny though. Not Dan’s usual sound. Not my personal fave. But interesting.
Wuthering Heights is definately on Dan's high end, but a very good cover! I'd second it as new react. I think it might skew your Vasc meter severely to the high end, however, so I recommend you do a double and also react to his Rains of Castamere, a shorter song,, which is heavy on the lows to balance out your Dan meter again! 😂
I actually had only heard the old Kate Bush version (which I dislike) besides Dan’s cover but today I came across a video of Dan and another Brazilian man sing this same song and it dawned on me that it’s likely Dan wasn’t covering the Kate Bush version. He was covering the other guy…and I think he did a great job! I hear now what he was trying to accomplish vocally and I can appreciate it although I can’t say I’ll put that one on my playlist.
Vasc Nation is used to dogs in videos as Dan's pups (Zelda and Accura) have been in several of his videos. Truly sad to hear of someone dying so young and especially when he sounds like he was an amazing influence not just with music but with being a kind human being. I too loved the lyrics and the music was incredible. Geez how can you not love a dog crawling into someone's arms. So adorable.
