IT'S OTIS TIME!!!!! Mini tour of Menger Hotel in San Antonio, TX. w/ vintage old Otis elevators

Filmed on July 2, 2016: This is going to be an HD take of everyone's favorite vintage Otis elevators here in this fine old historic hotel in San Antonio, TX. I have been waiting for 2 to 3 years needing a better take of these pieces of beauties. With that being said, hope you guys enjoy this! The first elevator was installed in 1966, and the other both elevators were installed in 1949 & modernized in the 60’s. A black button Otis & 2 Lexan Otis's!

JimLiElevators I been in the menger hotel before and I did film the Otis series 1 Elevator in the menger hotel and I did film 2 Otis lexan and the Otis black button in the menger hotel and I like the menger hotel a lot.

according to the records, theres two series 1s, a newer lexan, an older lexan, two black buttons and a black button freight elevator

Indeed, those are some very nice elevators, and I hope they don't get modernized AT ALL. By the way, there's a 4th elevator in this hotel, but it has Series-1 fixtures. Did you ever film that one?

CaptainElevator42189 I have an older video I took back in 2011, but I definitely will try to get 1080p take of it with either my TX30 or my 4K Handycam since I'll be going to San Antonio again this weekend.

Sadly, if you look at the newest reviews on tripadvisor and look for the keyword "'elevator" the general manager claims they are getting new elevators, which probably means there are plans to mod them. I may stop by there this summer to check up on them.

Oh no! :( Are you kidding me? The staff told me that they have no plans to modernize or rip them out. See if you’re able to save some parts there because I had a lot of memories there in that hotel.

@@JimLiElevators I have read a few other reviews for a few other hotels which are modernizing this year (Hyatt Regency and Riverwalk Marriott) and they just used the term "Modernizing" They might be adding more elevators to the Menger. Most guests have a fear of older elevators and the hotel might be adding a few just for those people. They did not use the word "modernization" once in the reply. It is still possible though as I feel a lot of stuff is going bye bye in 2019.

DoverElevatorFan1 Seems like San Antonio is about to start on modernization spree. I may be going to San Antonio in July as I’ll be attending a church retreat there.
