SUperidot8 that slip up may have been funny but you can also see now why she sings it so well, because the emotion she puts into it is so genuine, thinking about her husband and that’s beautiful
The fact that she's singing this with a normal-quality microphone but still has that high-freaking-dang-quality voice proves just how talented Deedee is. 💖
What a trash comment section. I was really impressed with how great her live performance sounded. She really showcased how strong if a voice she has with no studio editing and yet here are hundreds of people spamming about a slip up on half a word. She didn't even lose the beat off of it. You guys are unimaginative and petty. Picturing her reading through the comments makes me wonder how hurt she may be seeing how people will overlook her performance for something so insignificant.
I knew she was Filipino the first time I saw her and hear her sing. I'm Filipino myself and a lot of Filipino's are very talented singers, and they all tend to sing quite alike.
Same, I think that's because I have this weird habit of sensing a filipino by hearing their voice or seeing their face for the first time. (I sometimes joke about it being my sixth sense lol)
What makes this so beautiful for me (apart from Deedee Hall's gorgeous singing voice) is at 2:03, the line "and she loved you and she's gone..." In most musical performances, this would be the "sing to the rafters moment," where she gets to show off her pipes by really belting it out. Instead, she does that for just a moment - then immediately reins it in. She only lets herself lose control for an instant. That's wonderfully in-character for Pearl, and a testament to Hall's ability.
Wow, she has such a beautiful voice. That "Gone~" though! Also, does anyone else notice the pianist's hair? Sorry, just wanted to point out how cool it looks :D
Xx JASPER xX Nope. What I'm saying is since she has a husband, it's normal for her to say "him". Also, Pearl gave her whole life to be with Rose Quartz. There is really no love there except for savior, due to the fact the gems are genderless and mostly look feminine.
A little fun fact for all you people who adore Deedee (such as myself) she does need to change here voice for pearl do that is her REAL voice so awesome job on rebacca's part for choosing such a wonderful voice after for a elegant character
Her natural voice and her pearl voice sound similar, but yes, Pearls voice is the slightest bit deeper, not like “low” because Pearl is clearly a pretty high voice, but in a more mature tone of voice, a bit more serious and elegant. But their voices sre similar. Deedee not doing a Pearl voice sounds more like Idina Menzel
The fact that she immersed in her performance so much to the point of thinking about her beloved says a lot of her as an artist. Who cares if she had a little slip of the tongue! What an amazing and beautiful performance, wish I could've been there, wow
What does you being a proud Filipino have to do with anything? Sure Deedee is a filipino but it's her choices and background in Broadway that she can sing that beautifully.
+Edward Elrich keep in mind I am not bragging. there are a lot of Filipinos who chose to be Broadway singers and still are proud of being Filipino. its just supporting her in a way that we are just proud of her doing what she wants and still being a part of Filipinos. is that bad? (it's my comment BTW so just shut up, 'kay?😝)
+mayhem the psychopath Voice actors often sound at least a little noticeably different than their characters, especially when singing is involved. People are surprised when that is not the case.
TheHarlequinHatter hahaha i mean shes straight irl so like people need to let it go. Pearl is our gay bird mom but Deedee is our straight bird mom and thats okay👌
I honestly loved the emotion in this. I always felt that in the official song, the last "gone" was cut too short and needed a longer pause afterward for more display of grief and thats exactly what she did here which makes me love this even more
ahh I love her voice..barely noticed the little slip up until someone mentioned it and watched it again. The hell, guys? she can sing without studio gear altering her voice and it's still Pearl I'm hearing
