You say that as if somebody else would want to buy it. At this point, any Star Wars project that's even announced immediately has to defend itself from the backlash brewing from all the garbage that's preceded it over the last 10 years. I can't imagine any filmmaker with a worthwhile career wanting the stress of trying to save this sinking ship while risking their own reputation in the process. It falls into the "life's too short for that kind of stress" column for anybody who would be capable of fixing it.

As a female Star Wars fan, I hate it when they say we want strong female characters. We HAD that with Princess Leia. I don't want only strong female leads. I want strong male characters as well. But most important, I don't want sloppy writing, which is what we got in The Acolyte. I don't want a lightsaber whip. Come on! They need to take accountability for their own $h!+show.

I myself scrounged up every piece of Legends media I could get my hands on. Novels, comics, audio dramas, video games, TV, and I’m happier for it. I’m even thinking of writing my own continuations for unfinished Expanded Universe storylines.

I believe that this move was inevitable and that it was never Eiger's decision to make. The shareholders and stockholders call all of the shots at Disney and tell the Disney Board of Directors what to do and how and when to do it. They, in turn, listen to the fans as it is the fans that pay the money to see the shows which then translates to the cash transactions that increase the value of shares and stocks of Disney. There it is, the truth. It is business, nothing personal.

In Tolkien's legendarium, Morgoth (KK), the original dark lord, couldn't stand it that only Eru Ilúvatar (George Lucas) had the power to create. So, he decided that if he couldn't create a universe, he'd corrupt it and bend it to his will, remake it. If she spent 40 years, KK could never create anything like Star Wars so she has to corrupt it, but she needed a pretext. Horrible show, no... But it didn't delivered what was proposed. "The Acolyte", means a show about Siths, right? It started well with a girl going to kill a Jedi to prove her master, but the show follows the ex padawan, why??????? Then they build up characters, the master who did something, the newbie jedi, the padawan (that they hint there is romance with the prota)... where is the acolyte????? At the end all this characters they build up they just die, the good sister is now the Acolyte??????? and now the prota is in love with the guy who killed her friend?????
Fans aren't 'Toxic' but even if they were, they're THE FANS, so they're THE AUDIENCE. Either show them what they want (Good storylines, scripts and actors) or find a new audience big enough to justify losing those fans. The Acolyte didn't do either....
The production budget alone was 180 million! The way they promoted this show, I'm guessing the marketing budget was around them same. Not to mention all the merch that no one bought. Epic fail. Romulus very well reviewed ? you're kidding lol.. It's Rogue-One level of cheap fan service, constant, ad-nauseam member-berries for no reason. The first 30 minutes are quite refreshing then it fell from the cliff really hard. All is not bad, like the DA, the practical effects, the acting is ok. But the script is an awful mess
I was a pretty big Star Wars fan, i rewatched the original movies every few years, read expanded universe books and comics... I was done by the time of Obi Wan,I think episode 2 or 3 was the last straw. I didnt even try the Acolyte, im so done. My friend, arguably even a bigger fan then me, gave up after 2 episodes of the Acolyte. With all respect to youtube channels like yours or Cirical Drinker, Disney is so full of themselves i dont think they would ever listen to you, my guess the only thing that mattered was the viewership, and thank god everybody seems done with this crap. Damage to facts/ history of Star Wars is one thing, that can be retconned, but the biggest dmg imho poeple ,like me, just loose heart, until there is nothing left and you just dont care. I dont know how easy you can repair that.
I don't think this destroyed anything. I think it was just the continuing of the destruction. I like the sequel movies even though there is a lot wrong with them. I like the Solo movie. I love Rogue One. Other than that one movie though, nothing Disney has done has done anything to keep Star Wars alive. Every one of these tv shows has been with the aim of blowing everything up. Why Kennedy HATES Lucas so much, i don't know. But it's painfully clear she does.
Tbh I'm not really even happy it's done and cancelled. I'm just relieved that it's over. I'm relieved that it's over but awaiting the next flop really. Disney can't make anything original anymore. They did make the right choice with the second season cancellation ... Unfortunately they still made the first season.. now they just need to retcon and remove it entirely from the D+ ... then the healing process can hopefully begin ?? Maybe ? .... I'm always hopeful lol

It's clear that KK has dirt on lots of folks in the entertainment industry (probably on Iger himself) and that's why she doesn´t get kicked out into the stratosphere for her awful professional performance and results. If she opens her mouth, heads are sure to roll together with hers. To me, this is the reason she still survives.

I tried to give this show a chance but it was just too much of a train wreck as a fan of Star Wars for over 47 years I just can’t get into these new shows that they keep forcing these 💩 shows
