Nice peacock at the end. But be careful, cause at that spot, you can't see 'them' coming and the 'eye' is just behind.

Are you using a leader line? If so what lb and length. Thanks in advanced

The lbs depends on the setup I'm using, usually I use 10-12lbs fc leader. I tend to go a little on the long side, usually at least 5-6ft of leader, so about 1 full rod length.

Will micro Zerek shrimp work over there?
@BCSGFishing
@BCSGFishing 6 лет назад
If I had to guess I would say no cos shrimp isn't a super abundant food source in our waters, but honestly I could be wrong and you'd never know til you try, anything is worth trying at least once. Let me know how it goes!

I use Duel Armored F+ PE0.8 on this reel, but my other UL reels have 8lbs powerpro, 8lbs spiderwire and YGK Gsoul upgrade PE0.8. All work well but I wouldnt use the Armored F+ on spinning reels, works better on BC.

You can find the cultiva twin tail grubs at sabre tackle.

what size/weight are your jigheads?
@BCSGFishing
@BCSGFishing 6 лет назад
I make my own jigheads so it depends on the plastic I'm throwing. I use 2g size 6 hook for the micro twin tail grubs, all the way up to 10g size 2/0 hook for my larger flukes and stuff. The other sizes I use are 3g size 4 hook and 7g size 1 hook.

But the tmlrb doesn’t support lure below 5g right? Cause that’s what the spec sheet state. I am actually looking into buying it. But I’m contemplating between this and abu’s troutin marquis :(

MVS I wouldn't say it flat out doesn't support lures below 5g, generally the lure weights stated on most rods are there as guidelines only. Ultimately, the ability to cast light lures comes down to how the entire setup works with the angler's casting style. As you can see in this video, I'm casting micro grubs and other plastics on 2-3g jigheads just fine with the tmlrb. Check out my video on Ultralight BC Tips and Tackle Information, I talk about how the reel is generally more important than the rod when it comes to casting light lures. There are ways you can alter your casting style to be able to cast light lures on a heavier rod, but if your reel cannot handle light lures there is not much you can do about it. Honestly, in my opinion the Jackson Bastard btc 655mlt is the best telescopic option for lures between 2-7g. The troutin marquis is a trout rod, it is wayyyy too soft, and while I can cast light lures on my tmlrb, 6-14lbs is a little heavy so fights can be a little dull. Just note that the jackson is a very light rod and light + telescopic = must take very good care of it.
