It's not even a criminal conspiracy though, Trump was asking for legal advice on how to have the ballots recounted after the VP refused to authorize it himself. Asking for legal advice isn't an admission of guilt or a conspiracy. Yet the Democrats want to paint it as that because they've been trying to pin anything on Trump to get him out of the election race. They want to remove him so they can continue the narrative of them winning the election fairly, by removing the most popular competition. Now does that seem legal or right? If it doesn't, then you should start looking a little bit further into this court case and see exactly how messed up this kangaroo court case really is going.

Discovery of evidence took this past several years because there was a gargantuan amount of material to sift through. It was easier to prosecute the so-called Q Anon "shaman" with the ridiculous, tasteless, and truly insulting fur headdress. There was blatant, visible evidence of his crimes that he couldn't deny if he had the slightest chance. Donald Trump is slipperier. He used many wiggle words and implications so that no one could pin him down because of First Amendment Speech rights. And he's good at it. That's one reason why impeachment didn't work. Definitely did some damage to both of them by association but they were never directly accused of RICO crimes themselves - nor, as far I could see, were they even accused of anything beyond extremely poor judgement in who they employed and probably some willful ignorance about what was going on around them. Koch in particular had trouble with rampant corruption in his administration during his third term. Note that it's hard to find a truly clean city administration anywhere in history - including Giuliani's. The OP is probably referring to Dinkins, who faced off against Giuliani twice in extremely close elections, beating him the first time then losing the rematch. For all that Giuliani is a seditionist and a racketeer now, RICO was originally used mostly to crush NYC's mafia families, something that worked out reasonably well for the general public. Whatever has gone wrong in Giuliani's decaying brain since his time as mayor, there was a time years ago where he was at least somewhat on the side of law and order - at least when it advanced his own career.

Having heard that "perfect phonecall" so many times by now, I can never quite get past that bit where he has "which is one more [vote] than we have". It just seems so perfectly emblematic of the whole thing for me. Trump is so thick and has such little capacity to actually plan that, by the letter of what he said, he was still asking to have one vote defrauded. Assuming he said exactly what he meant, he just admitted he lost by one vote and he wanted that flipped. But his behaviour is so erratic and foolish that we all know innately that he was just talking cleanly out of his ass and made a mistake and should have said one less than we had. But then at that stage, if he's straight up lying about having even won, why have it by such a narrow margin? Why win by one vote when you can take 100%? Even assuming this was a mistake, and not him outright admitting that he's trying to fake the votes, why lie about having such a narrow margin? How would you even know such a thing? It's just such a completely bizarre line for him to have even added. It's the purest distillation of Trump's complete lack of impulse control and forethought, the complete embodiment of his blind thirst for power at the expense of all else.
