I think something people keep forgetting is even before D became Sakurama Sakurama has been known in the rangers to be the only person that wants to talk it out with Monsters, so its not actual strange for him to fight to protect one
12:40 Been a while but from what I recall reading, Peltrola was in the room the cadets could open once they obtained all the Ranger keys. I could be mistaken but the reason he hadn’t been found was that there hadn’t been any graduates for some time and thus that “end room” hadn’t been opened in a min.
The ranger most likely did not know petrola been there because that room is specifically for the cadet exam and probably never been check on a regular basis. Also I don't think it is the animator's fault when it comes to constant switching between fights because I know for bigger scale fights such as this, the manga will constantly switch between different scenes. When we get to smaller scale fights, it won't be like this.

The Rangers never checked, because there was no reason to assume that a boss monster would be hiding in there. Peltrola only became that tree to heal himself, I think, but yeah. The Boss Monsters could be anywhere, so not checking one of the cadet's bases was an error on their part.
Yeah, I think only the higher ranger ranks (Jr First Rank and above maybe?) know that Boss Monsters still exist. This is based on: - the brief conversation between Green Jr First Rank and Petrola that confirms if Green was part of the squad hunting down Boss Monsters. - the previous meetings make it seem like Dragon Keepers regularly include Jr. First Ranks in their meetings.
I'm pretty sure in the manga peltrola told xx he needed to heal and went off on his own so the big tree was just him healing but the blue keeper got involved

Peltrola is trolling when he ask to talk things out. That's how he is lol. He is the type to tell everyone to clam down & let's not resort to violence before blowing everyone up.
I dont think Petrola was hiding for that long, he's a monster, maybe he grew into the whole tree in just a couple days, or maybe even in just the same day. He did say he had to retreat to recover once he was damaged when he was with XX. Plus, that room was for the cadet exam and the point was that they could only open it once they gathered the keys, so it was a perfect place to hide. (He might have gotten inside with XX since dusters can mimick keys, she confirmed she was trying to get the other keys so they did not find Petrola while he recovered.) That might be why they didnt know he was there.
peltora was in hiding somewhere in the pipes i think when xx gave a distress signal . After he got injured he went to that room behind the exam door to heal himself and turned into the tree. XX was collecting keys from the ranger cadets so they wouldnt enter that room/pass the test.
So to provide context: the boss monsters have been in hiding in order to regain their power from the battle from 13 years ago. On top of that, Petrola mentioned that experiments were being conducted which mean to some degree, the dragon keepers know about the boss monsters to some extent but not necessarily that they've been chilling at the ranger base this whole time.
Peltrola was only in that room because he had to recover after his fight with Blue Junior First Rank. He evolved into that form while recovering. There is a reason why he went to those training grounds but that's much later down the road.
The reason why I’m pretty sure they didn’t was either because they usually don’t check that room since normally it’s almost impossible for new Ranger cadets to pass because of the Replicas and powerful juniors, there’s also the fact that Petrola only started becoming the tree after he got injured, and he was healing in that room by becoming the tree. Since the rooster form was his true form.
I was watching the english dub today and it makes more sense to why Peltrola was in there rather than reading it for me. when the junior first rank blue ranger shot him with her divine artifact replica he said it actually hurt him a lot, so he wanted to find a place to rest, then likely very quickly made the tree form to absorb energy from somewhere.
How can you get lost with the fight? Boss dude multiplied himself and ended up getting smoke from everyone in many places at once. The boss transformed into a tree after small ranger injured him. Nobody in the anime has never said anything about rangers and boss monsters having a deal.
The 'implication' was that the rangers and boss monsters must have a deal, based on one being able to hide _in their base_ neither learning of the surface nor being learned of. Like, that's some clown tactics if it happened 'naturally,' two Dusters _and_ a boss monster all winding up infiltrating one base with no coordination and one common thread (Hibiki), is ludicrous odds.
I don't think it was ever confirmed in the manga if they knew Peltrola was in there, but they most likely didn't. Blue Keeper at least seems surprised. But just know that any sort of explanation for why they *might* know he's in there is INCREDIBLY MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS. I cannot stress how important it is to not have that kind of stuff spoiled.
D kept using smoke and mirrors. Every time he attacked Blue, he made it like he didn't see who he was attacking. Or that he was trying to rescue short dude (XX). When they was in that room, he basically stood on the sidelines until he attacked the boss. And Blue was busy fighting the boss clones to see him with XX and the boss.

Its been awhile since I've read this part in the manga, but Peltrola went to that room to heal after fighting JFC Loli, allowing him to evolve. - The pacing is weird sometimes, the manga is like that too, but the anime is pretty good at backfilling info as each episode comes out. *Not a spoiler, but just in case you can ignore this last one* When it comes to the invaders and Execs they hid in plain sight, as Hisui (Hollow mask girl) said to Peltrola that her battalion hunts them down since they are all hiding
When d got that vision of the future of his world domination it made me think of Professor x and Magneto. Where D was striving for revenge cause for 13 years all he's known is subjugation at the hands of the keepers. His past was too violent to really even consider a coexistence just like magneto. Co existence may seem like a naive goal in a bloodsoaked fake ass controlled world like this one but if you just continue to use violence it's not really going to resolve anything. It seems sakumura was preaching coexistence with monsters before he switched places with d and maybe that's cause he's friends with xx. The main theme is not to bend to any authority because that having that kind of power is corruptive. Lot of good twists in this series and there is so much more that still could be revealed. Origins of the keepers, origins of the dragon God, the flying fortress and boss monsters we saw the fighters just sort of appear but how did everyone else get there? Suzuki is obviously plotting something. They managed to keep an assault on the blue base quiet and even when shion was a witness to a boss monster it never got revealed. What else has been swept under the rug?
Roshi is right that the anime is kind of rushing through things and that they aren’t really showing much stuff from the manga that would help them understand what the heck is going on. That said the Monster Boss did say to XX that he had to hide to basically heal and “level up” which is why he was in that room looking like he did.
You gotta remember the show is SUPER condensed. The first three episodes were great but from then on they had to cut out a lot of content. Not really a good excuse though. The content from when D first arrived in the ranger training place to now could be an entire season, but they had to make room for a few extra episodes at the start.

I 100% agree with Roshi on the pacing being wrong. Stuff happens and it just feels like it's all over the place. For example, when the pink-haired girl saw Peltrola and left without saying a word, I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be an "Oh shiii" comedic moment, but the music and scene composition doesn't reflect that. Between that and the episode that butchered the fight with one of the guys from Blue Squadron, the team handling this adaptation is doing a poor job.
cause they're trying to adapt the entire exam arc into one cour of 12 episodes shit gets crazy lmao. some new decisions they made are pretty welcome cause the arc dragged on real bad when reading it as each chapter dropped due to hiatus and breaks n shit but it is about 50 chapters worth of content crammed into a 12 ep season
The anime is rushing through chapters and cutting out ALOT of context and character moments. I always tell people to simply read the manga if they're confused because it's the better option right now.

The thing that doesn't makes sense is suzukiris power like im a manga reader but wtf is that power she's arguably the strongest even stronger than any ranger She can stop and manipulate time meanwhile her leader the yellow ranger just got a bow like what ?
