In this edition of It's Smithereens Saturday!, I discuss the band's seventh album of original songs, 2011, from the same year. This album would be their first album of original material in 12 years after releasing a string of covers albums. What do you think of this album? Please let me know in the comments!
Check out the Smithereens' music on their official RU-vid channel: / @officialsmithereens .
Please check out the playlists to see my appearances on my friends' channels here on RU-vid. They all offer great content and discussion and they are even better people. Do what you love and I will talk to you soon.

I went looking for this album on iTunes and it’s not there. Had to resort to the good ol RU-vid. This album is consistently solid. I really liked Rings on Her Fingers, As Long as You are Near Me, All the Same, and What Went Wrong. I thought they were stand outs. This album felt like they went back to their first two albums and captured that sound and style. It was very consistently solid all the way through, as a bass guy, I particularly found The Thrilla’s bass very fun and pleasing. Ernesto, great job with the logo!

This is my second favorite Smithereens album after 11. Must be something about their albums titled with numbers! I like their two Beatles covers albums. Really interesting to hear Pat’s vocals on those songs. Instrumentally they play it pretty close to the vest. I am enjoying this series!

Hi John...I totally missed this one back in the day. It seems to be out of print but I am on the lookout for it. Since the start of this series I have been playing the Smithereens albums I have pretty regularly . Thank you again for this series. Chez

That was a fun live chat! When it comes to this album, l recall liking it, but I haven’t heard it since it came out. With it being locked away in storage, I’ll have to find it on RU-vid, or steal your copy. Bwhahahahahahahaha! I’m digging this series and the Lizzy one as well. Keep up the great work, MusicNut. Your pal and mine, The Bassy, Racey, Spacey, Davey Cretin, from CRETIN CLASSICS.
