@@goldmanjace Last time I played SPGs was the last time I played. 32 straight losses (wait, it gets funnier). At no time was the team I was on ahead on kills. In at least 2 of those games we were down by 3 tanks before I even had a shell loaded.
G W Panther is an excellent tier 7 SPG..it was my favourite, also it does make credits(with careful play)..must have a a good crew..and dont waste shells. Recommend this SPG to anyone.
WG has not only completely screwed SPG's across the board, but then they gave every tank the ability to know ahead of time when a SPG shell is on the way. So now not only do most of the SPG shells miss, but if they do hit something you usually get 0 damage. An SPG 2 tiers above an enemy SPG can't even destroy the lower tier SPG with less than 2 direct hits. It's a joke. So now I get shit on in the game comments after every game because I suck at playing regular tanks. And this was all done to make the game "more realistic" because tank players were tired of having arty shit on them so the said SPG's are screwing up the game because it isn't realistic. Then they go and put clown cars in the game and heavy tanks with jet boosters. Oh, then they put screen doors on tanks which somehow stops all damage when you try and pen them in the side with gold. It's a joke.
Favorite SPGs are the FV304 and M44. They really made a lot of credits before the big nerf, now they make a few but are still fun. And, yes, the max range of the FV is about 500m, so, you basically have to be in spotting range of any light tank and many mediums.
Your cost can go up playing SPG's as well because the game has changed, and players are much more mobile, and fast moving in their tanks now. Have you ever tried hitting a bunch of fast moving enemies with an SPG? You will spend tons of credits on shells, and maybe not hit a single enemy. That's why I rarely play them now.
Crusader SP has Archer mobility - using the smaller 10s reload cannon paired with its low profile can be devastating for the enemy team as you can get hull down and sit with your Heavy buddies.
I love love love the FV304. The trick is (If you have a good team around you) to track the enemy so you get the added support damage. That said, that guy has 2 stripes to my one 🙂
Old SPGs did a lot of damage ocassionaly but were very inaccurate. One had to totally camp a position to even get hit. Even then the SPGs would more often than not miss. I never found them a problem. I tried old and new SPGs. The SPG whiners really made a huge mistake complaining.
Love SPG's, dislike wheeled vehicles. Yes, they have really nerfed artillery, unfairly I might add. Also I want to see tier 8 premium artillery sometime soon.
I like the SPG because the graphics in the game don't always work with my vision. I usually try to pulverize the heavies on the other team. < I'm a team player in a world of asshats.
That second game was PAINFUL to watch! My apologies to the SPG player of the Panther as clearly he was an elderly man whose mental faculties were impaired and I need to show respect. 😆
the part of SPG's now is death by 1000 cuts....more annoying than anything. it sometimes baffles and amazes me how WG have made so many changes to make the game better, and player base has dropped. When I started this game, grinding for credits and grinding to the next level was a real thing and antagonizing process. IMHO way more fun than todays World of tanks.... Except for the leaf blower most SPGs DPM is low. Even my T92 HMC with the biggest gun in the game only has a DPM of 1744 with consumables and 100% crew.
FWI the FV304 was running food so add 20,000 to that score and he'd be making credits. Running food is not for the credit making, F2P folks like myself.
Players that have been sucked in by WOT to buy a tank that they can’t play properly are lacking experience and it screws up the gameplay!As long as they spend WOT doesn’t care and that’s why Matchups suck so bad!
"SPG players, are people too..." Well, maybe. For the majority of players, SPGs are for those who simply cannot play regular tanks. SPGs, sit in the back, with the luggage, they wait for teammates to spot for them, and then, the damage they offer is usually minimal at best. But I do agree with you... This guy did well and should have been rewarded better by WG. Just another reason to remain SPG free. Even if you do great in one and kill lots of enemies, WG will still punish you for the effort... My own opinion is, SPGs ruin a good tank battle. How many times have I been knocked out by an arty, while going toe to toe with another tank? I hate arty over all and it should be banned from tanking. Let them have their own maps, where they can sit in the back and pound on eachother.
I only see Leaf blowers and one or two other arties being played. Arty can ruin a perfectly good game. They used to really ruin games before the HE nerf
The days of cheap Arty ammo are well done, my friend. Ie PzKpfw AP = 70, APCR = 2800 Grille HE = 505, HEAT = 595 We didn't just get Nerfed, we got the reach around too. Sad times....
I noticed about 2 weeks ago after an Update that The Game econmy had changed losing credits in tier 7 with a average result. # WoT money scams,.no pay, no fun and, no credits for U! Some will say,. then why play? My answer,. boredom is a strange thing.
What the matchmaker should do reg. SPGs is simple: small maps 1, mid-sized maps 2, big maps MAX(!) 3 if necessary. Bot nono, "Lets put two on Ensk but only one on El Halluf!" Good games :)
All the SPG failed to move up to reduce their dispersion later in the game -- always do that when you're so far ahead... shortens the flight time for shell and improves the changes of direct hit
Indeed, I wondered why they didn't do that especially in the end of the last match. Also, regarding counter-battery: Start moving right after shooting and don't wait until your shell lands and move far enough to take the dispersion of the enemy artys into account. When I see the SPG videos here, the featured SPG players oftern only move a little bit (if at all), which still leaves you vulnerable to enemy SPG shells. These are pretty basic things and I wonder why SPG players often don't do that.
F9 is a good place for an SPG like that. Park right at the tip of that mountain at the south end. You could bug out behind the cap or up the hill, if it get ugly. Plus, you have clear shots at the heavy line from there.
This is a repeated comment towards WG but i dont mind pumping the engagement of you channel! "The monetization in the game and the game economy is shit af. I loved WoT but the fact that you have to spend hundreds of dollars, euros or w.e to get garage slots, premium time and tanks and even then you struggle to get some in game credits to actually progress in the tech trees is disgusting. I am not saying to get millions per game, but at least earn a couple of thousands per AVERAGE game. At the moment you barely make credits in top notch games. I agree. Back in the day, it was harder to get exp rather than credits. Now it is the opposite. Or it might have been that I was so bad that I couldn't have a good game to get good exp XD. Well whatever the reason we had enough credits to buy the next tank
Hey Claus.....I play quite a bit of arty and what has happened since all the nerfs is that the old gun damage stats are still displayed ie M44 ave Dmg 500.......M53/55.....dmg 900.......gw panther....ave dmg 600.......my point is that now those damage values are unachievable and you are lucky to get a roll of 30% -50% of the advertised. Maybe you could do a vid to highlight yet another WG con/ Fuk up. And do it in your infamous English accent to highlight 1 of the truly worst things to come out of WOT. Thanks for all your hard work and laughs !
There will be nobody playing SPG's, if WG keeps nerfing them, plus people lose credits playing them. Why would anyone want to lose credits, playing a tank that is nerfed to shit? Everyone can see the tracers so easy now, people can get the crew skill to warn of incoming SPG shells, HE is nerfed, the shells don't go where you aim them, AND you lose credits. Does that sound fun WG?
Love SPG's . They are the tanks I play the most. I unlike most WOT players , am 64 years old , and SPG's are the tanks I play the most because I cant drive worth a s**t, lol. I ahve many tanks other than SPG's that I play occassionally as well, but I always fall back to SPG's.
SPG's make money? Are you on glue man? It is by far the worst paying class. I can make top of the team and make out like a bandit (sarcasm), like 40-50K on a victory if I am lucky. After reloads it is usually 20-30K profit. I play arty because my hands are shit.
Only thing with SPGs like the Bert now, is there is little to no stun with those shells. So you rely only on damage for credits and XP, and with the nerf to HE, your damage potential in those went down drastically. Thus that player would have lost credits in a free account in a tier 6 SPG. Tier 6 you should always be making credits!
Until it was nerfed the M44 was the best credit earner on the tech tree. Bert would have made credits but paid full price for 20k consumable. As for SPGs in general, WG messing with them means people that play them have to adapt and evolve their gameplay more than other classes. MM was set to a 2 SPG per side soft cap years ago bit could be 3 based on wait times.
You can definitely make credits with SPGs. The ammo is dirt cheap and with the speed of games, especially at high tiers WG has made it that you can sometime only take 2 or 3 shots before the game ends, very helpful to save cash. If you really want to play arty get a leafblower, great view range, great rate of fire and still competitive even though you hot less with the RNG these days.
on a realism level, around 75% of battlefield casualties in WW2 were caused by artillery so it's fair to have them in the game and if anything the role or artillery is underpowered (in order to let the tankers go and play I assume) The term "fun police is therefore well founded" the only ones who should be having fun are the SPG players 🙂 Too controversial? 🙂
Artillery players ARE people too…. Yes wargaming made a mistake when they Nerf artillery, they should have made the reload time for all artillery shorter since they took away the hip percentage and lowered the HE shells were Nerf too much.
I loved my SPGs, it was my main tank I played, though I did try out the others and have an T29 (or whatever that American tank is called) which I liked. I much preferred SPG game play. Imagine how I felt after grinding up the American SPG line to... I think it was tier 8? And then having them nerf them so bad that ALL my work was wasted and they are no longer fun to play. I stopped playing the game entirely, though I did pop back in for old time sake and was reminded why I stopped. They tried to FORCE me to play something I don't enjoy as much due to the whining, bitching and complaining from all the women out there. And seeing what they have done to regular tanks other players have spent a lot of time working on and nerfing them... forget it. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I won't be fooled into playing the game again. All I like about it now is watching your videos. I miss BETA, now THAT was a blast. They need a CLASSIC version of the game which is like BETA, but they would probably lose A LOT of players to it if they did.
Ordinary promotion from WOT tips !! (Haha 3-6-8000 Damage) you don't get 1/4th of what you see here in real game!!! These bastards have a modified mod for promotions to see they are still in the top ranks, what he shoots is a hit!! if a tank hits him.. then a rebound... I guarantee that you won't have it that way!! and it will be the opposite on mil. % and besides... don't buy premium or premium tanks!!! it's useless anyway, the server determines the damage,,..determines victory and defeat .. If you upload min Damage to the opponent, the server will automatically flip and give Victory/ if High damage to the opponent - it is automatically Defeat.. You have a tank of 8 levels and you are approximately at the bottom of the team or on the bottom team composition, stacked from level 10 = It's automatically a win because you have no chance to shoot down Level 10 that is: min. damage = victory.!!! If you are on the highest rungs in the lineup, e.g. team level 8 to level 6 , Automatically = high damage to the opponent and you automatically = Defeat!! Server. BLOCKS....visibility, enemy detections, opponent damage, you can just do whatever you want :D !! it's wasted money!! You actually have more losses than wins in the game!! Ask yourself another question.. how many times have you recorded what you see here? (it's easy to play if you're an admin with a good game mode!), and this thieving company gives replays like this every day ... they're just lying to you and fooling you it's a great game, waiting for you to adjust the game mode to the minimum so that you can put real money into it!! Also note that they offer only premium or 10 level tanks, where you have huge losses in the game even during premium, especially if you use gold-i (premium cartridges)!!! , for 1 battle minus up to 8-20,000 cash... if not more... wt.
A 3 arty game, you have to be more counter battery aware. I know it's anecdotal but pre-arty nerf the queue would be around 15-20% arty, nowerdays it feels like 10-15%, so I think the nerf did work. And I would ban 3 arty games, If I have to be longer in the queue, I'm happy for that, if it improves the other players experience. I understand the leafblower can mess with the no 3 arty rule as well.
On Camp in a Bushka, I've used an E25 with binocs and camped in the bush around A5 and scored huge spotting numbers. I's high ground and yoou can see way out, combined with the high concealment numbers. Doesn't happen often, as you need to get the south spawn in an E-25 with decent SPG's on this map, but when it does, big numbers...UNLESS you get some good opponents who realize WTF is going on. Then they just blast thoe bushes until you get the hint and move.
I've been playing Cold War for the past few weeks. I don't miss artillery, or BS wheeled vehicles. I see NO reason to play WWII anymore, except to boost commander XP with the PZ 38H. I'll still watch your videos all the time though, because they are very entertaining.
I remember a game from the good old days, my freind and I teamed up to play some low lvl tiers , choose my totally OP su-26 tier 3 arty, but he trickt me and choosed a E100 and presst start, we ended up in a tier X game what else, the chat from both sides plamed us for beeing idiots and wanted to bann us! I accepted my sitioation and started firing at the enemy tanks! I ended up killing 4 tier X tanks 3 Maus and a E100 by setting them on fire multiple times and at the end of the game I Did the most DMG and no one was blaming me :)
Tier V SPG´s are ruined due to the OP french premium SPG Lef-something-or-other, not a lol tractor but a permatracker. When you roll out in your grille or other nation tier 5 SPG, you handicap your team when the other side has a Lef.
you know people dont understund that even with discount food cost 10k so that fv should have made credits even with no premium account i have bought lots of food on discount i have 40millions but im a cheap bast...d so i rarerly almost never use food on tanks the funny think is that i have tons of large repairs and medkits only from wg streams, drops but i never use them gues its the strugles of real life that makes me that cheap
WG needs to rethink the economy of this game. We are not used to the 3rd world rules that WG uses for the game's model. We should not have to pay for regular ammo, or repairs. As an example.
