Man if bf4 was refreshed slightly with some better textures and player model movement it would look like a game that just released. And it plays out better than any other fps ive ever played. Truly amazing game
The beta was so unplayable a lot and had a terrible launch, but the game was so fun that people still played it even with its issues. It had the fun factor and replayability
I try to hop in a BF4 match at least once a week with my platoon. This game is just so good even today. We really need another BF like this; no bs just simple mechanics
I really think DICE needs to go back and look at BF4 and BF3 and look what exactly made these games so fun. The gunplay in these games were excellent, as well as the vehicular gameplay, maps, everything.....To me personally was because to an extent there was a slight arcade like feel to it all, it wasn't too complex and hyper realistic. Just because the technology is there nowadays, and its impressive to represent realistic combat in video games, doesn't mean it equals fun. Sometimes keeping it simpler can be better. Another reason is the chilling all-out sound design and how raw everything sounds. I think BF4 does this part of atmosphere the best in the franchise along with BF3.

TRUTH: Playing BF3 and BF4 makes me hate BF2042 even more. Imagine if BF2042 had the maps/modes/menus of BF3, the mechanics of BF4 and the graphics of BF1. That would have been a fantastic game. Instead, we got stuck with "specialists" that no one asked for and most did not want.
imo bf2042 is better than both those games, i didnt play at the start cause of the reviews but i recently gave it a try and its way more fun that getting blown up by someone sitting at the back of the map with a tank
bf3 and bf4 are one of the best memories of my 20's going to college playing with my friends till 3am hahaha and getting kills on the helo for the regional scoreboard.
Great video, Jack! BF4 is the one game I wish I would played more when it came out, maybe worth doing now while there are servers to join. Love the widescreen too, makes every game very cinematic.
I just love everthing about this game, from the movement, menus, maps to the guns, attachments and overall gameplay. it literally makes me so happy seeing full servers everyday, its amazing
One of the things that BF2042 misses, is the "camera shaky-ness" whenever you're walking/sprinting. It feels more immersive this way. Also the fact that, whenever you're sprinting, the characters (and the first person camera) don't look like they're The Flash/Sonic the Hedgehog (which is what I love about BF4).
I miss that game so much, it brings back memories of playing until 4:00 am and having to go to work the next at 8:00 am...lol. Good times! Thanks for posting this Jack, love your BF content.
The next Battlefield should just be a modern setting based on the possible conflicts today, but should take BF1's approach on factions of playing as many countries (UK, Germany, South Korea, Iran, India, etc) and not just the big 3. I'd love to see maps taking place all over the world (Washington DC, Taiwan, Berlin, Tehran). I'd also love to see both 4th gen and 5th gen fighters, and more vehicle diversity in general.
although this makes sense to do, we're talking about a billion dollar company implementing these things - so resources & man power is gonna be very limited in trying to accomplish this, not sure if they can make this happen... /s
BF4 was my first multiplayer BF and I got it for sale on PS4 the summer before BF1 came out. I’ve been a BF over COD guy since then. Love the vids Jack

I recently jumped back on BF4 PC after playing on PS4 and Xbox for a while, and I totally forgot how incredibly fast paced and so much more difficult the PC version is. It feels way more fluid and like a different game on a computer compared to the consoles. Incredible game, and incredible content, thanks Jack, much appreciated.
this is what im missing the most right now in BF2042, more city maps, that makes infantry cqc waaaayyy more fun compared to those huge vehicle fuck fests that it is right now. but i guess that is just what we are hoping for with the remakes of the maps for more cover and such
Yeah, there isn't a single map where I actually have fun as infantry. Kill one enemy and you're being shot at from all sides because there's little to no cover. Successfully get away and you're getting obliterated by a helicopter, a tank or some other vehicle.
i've only played bf4 on game pass with all the other 2042 refugees, didnt play when it was new - i feel like the office area of exposure is the only area that sort of taps into the vibe of bf4 maps...hopefully they can continue that trend when the next map releases in actual 2042
I still remember the events for this, Final Stand, and when the AN-94 and what not came out in the CTE. Those were the Primo days of Battlefield, and the days of watching Squad-up. Memories man.
Just also started to play it again a few weeks ago. Playing it regularly a few day a week. This game is so good. By far the best BF game. BF3 was also good and many say BF4 is the same. But it isn't.
I like BF3 much much more than BF4. There are things that BF4 does objectively better, including scale, vehicle combat and general polish. But maps, gunplay and atmosphere - BF3 takes the cake for me.
@@C0T0HA Both were the era of peak BF :) Maybe they should do a refined BF3/B4 adding some movement mechanics from BF5 (without sliding). And, I mean, the best BF3 maps have been added to BF4 DLC.
This and MW are still the only multiplayer games I play to this day, a testament to how well they were made. BF4 remastered is really all we need with some new maps and refreshed animations
@@nilealhamadany490 I enjoy the realistic look paired with fast paced combat on smaller maps, something that was taken away in MWII so I’ll probably stick to it and BF4 again

Battlefield 4 is the Fallout: New Vegas of the Battlefield games. Broken at first but eventually it got fixed and now it has become such a beloved video game and has everything you want from a Battlefield game.
Love the ultra wide gameplay. I watch on my phone and its nice to watch a vid that fills the whole screen properly. Wide-screen phones and monitors are the norm these days so you'd think more youtubers would be doing their vids for that aspect ratio.
I always love it when two players have their moment in chat. It's rare, but when it happens, it's always wholesome. BF4 is still the greatest shooter for me. It had a pretty rough start but it turned out amazing in the end. Love to jump on it from time to time. Already a classic.

This is one of my favourite maps of all time. Probably because of the limited vehicles which are usually around the outskirts because of limited space.
I watched the first wide screen video on my phone. Awesome highly rated it 👍 I watched this one on my TV and I did not hate it. It was actually very "" cinematic "" which fit the TV format well
