"It's cool to be black until you are black." One of the most true things. It's not just in America tho, it's true in so many parts of the world that it's scary.

When I was in the 3rd grade we had two teachers in two different rooms so they split us up it was all black school but one of the teachers was White and the other was black they were both women. I was in the black teacher's class but the white teacher asked the black teacher to bring her class to her room so she could read us a slave book I forgot why I think it was Black History month I'm not for sure but as she was reading the book she put the book down and ran out the classroom crying so the black teacher had to pick up the book and read it to us because the other teacher got so emotional she just couldn't read it that day I realized that all white people isn't racist.

@@smellypickles you can Shoot in the leg if you really need to but he didn't even say anything he just shot and when he realized it wasn't a gun and the girl was trying to help her friend who was bleeding out instead of trying to help the person who had been shot he handcuffed the girl and kept his gun pointed at them instead of calling for an ambulance it's common sense to call for an ambulance when someone is hurt doesn't matter if the person can still move or not they're hurt they could die

@@gracemount3710 yes I am thank you. From what I understand, I think the story is Breonna's boyfriend was a drug dealer and her previous boyfriend was also a drug dealer so they had their drugs dropped off at her house. Someone had caught onto that . The police went to her house to do a drug raid and yhr police identified themselves. Breonna's boyfriend put her in the hallway between him and thr cops. Her boyfriend had a gun and either fired at the police or drew his weapon at the police either way causing them to fire their service weapons. And because Breonna was put between him and the cops she was shot by the police. Personally the situation probably could've went another way and Breonna still be alive and the police wait to shoot or her boyfriend could've surrendered without any harm. I also think her boyfriend had a warrent aswell though I dont know what it was for.

This story like this whole movie had me crying because the hate all white people give black people because the color of their skin is crazy because blackness is no other is the same story just every single time different name the fear of the blackness I had a lot of black friends and they were so nice and they were loving and they were caring don’t ever judge anyone by the color of their skin
the part of this book that stuck to me the most is when starr questioned her uncle, a cop, on what he’d do if a white man reached for a gun and if a black man reached for a gun. uncle carlos is a black man but said that he’d tell the white man to put his arms up but he would’ve shot the black man. its so messed up that our system makes some black people find their own skin color a threat
this whole movie had me in tears because this story isnt made up. Like she said same story different name. this happens everyday this is our reality and its absolutely terrible that we are seen as less than.
People say they were in tears. My blood was boiling. Some may feel sadness. I felt sympathy. Some people say they want to help but then they watch as it happens. I want to help and I would have tried my damned hardest to stop it.
Yes I agree but because of the racism in out world I am glad this movie was made to show people how many times black lives must be lost and still the rascist people continue to harm us

My ex girlfriend was black, I remember being on a video call with her while she was shopping. Anyway she was walking around the store showing me what she wanted to buy and I saw as she was walking to the clothing table close to the exit a security guard stands there and eyes her. So I'm like "babe, move away from the door and pay with what you got. Security guard is watching," she turns around and I saw my best friend panic because she was afraid of what was gonna happen. She was only 17. Kinda fucked up that my 17 partner at the time was watched accused and panicked. So I didn't leave call until she paid and showed me the receipt so I could ss.
I usually dont get scared by jumpscares but when that gunshot came, i flinched so bad, i didn’t even think i could flinch that bad...i KNOW it can get this bad, i KNOW i can...but i don’t want to

Let’s just say your friend broke their finger and you take your other friends to the hospital, like what their finger is perfectly fine. No one is saying white lives don’t matter, no one is saying anything about white people at all, white people that say all lives matter should just think about themselves and don’t know what black people are going through. I hope that educated u. But it would have been better if u already knew that.
im hispanic. i can’t imagine the TERRIBLE and HORRIFYING things that others go through. i am terribly sorry to those who have lost many due to this disgusting action by these police or by people in general. you guys are important. you guys matter. no one ever deserves to go through something like that. some people out there are horrible. i love you all so much and again i am terribly sorry. Black Lives Matter and they always will.
I'm crying so hard right now because this has been happening for a long ass time and keeps happening no matter how many campaigns and hashtags are there I feel scared for my friends all the time about how just the next second my friend is going to be killed just because they were black , just because of their existence
Are you kidding me? Justice would be him having his life. He's dead now, what justice is there to be had in death? Justice would be racism not existing. Justice would be actual equality and equity. Justice would be black people not being persecuted at every stage in life till death. That's justice. Until those things happen, keep your "justice". It's hollow. It's disgusting.
My children are mixed and my son came home last night with what I thought was a gun sticking out of his pocket. It was but a BB gun... needless to say I had to give him the “speech” . Which at first he kinda laughed at me bc he said your not black. And I said no but my you (my children) are and I will do what it takes to keep you safe. It’s sad that’s how the world is but I think I opened his eyes about his surroundings.
@@kadencehutchings4208 I don't think parks are dangerous my dude, or school, or any place kids go to. You don't need to be in a non dangerous place to get shot. I'm Chinese and our elders get shot just for walking home in a non dangerous area, how do you justify that ??
One time my friend was driving the car let me remind you that I’m a white girl and she’s not, anyways this cop pulls us over and talks to her like she doesn’t mean nothing, so I start to record. The cop then acknowledges me and says sorry for the trouble and tells me to put down the phone. I get mad and remind him of my right to film and he drags my friend out of the car and puts handcuffs on her, and smashes my phone. This was my moms story she said she had never seen anything like it and raised me to know the difference between the law and as the police call it justice. There is nothing that justifies killing someone based on race or nationality. We need to stop normalizing this. BLM
Since when has killing somebody been normalized? I can't believe you think this. The cops kill twice as many unarmed white people as they do black people, yet it is rare to see that in the news. Additionally, black people shoot police 18.5 times more than police shoot unarmed black people.

Everyday this happens to African Americans this is legit sad this is the most depressing thing everyone deserves rights as a human being also I’ve seen this movie there acting was on point and it’s a very important message for people to know
Um no lady this doesn't happen everyday are you dumb? Ur saying everyday just black people die from cops smh white people died more from cops than black people still not a good thing but where's us rioting?
@Jasmine Bankston that's complete horse shit stop playing the victim card dude more white people have died from the cops but we ain't rioting also y'all aren't oppressed seriously I don't have to like blm it's a terrorist movement
Stop saying African American please say black it happened to all black people from different backgrounds not just African American for example I’m black but I’m Bahamian
@@BeefyZawg idk how dense you must be to think that the BLM movement is related to terrorism and I don't even know how you managed to draw that conclusion, but it's not, and it's not about black people getting shot by cops daily and such but it's about the oppression black people face. How can you say that "yall aren't oppressed" when you acknowledge the whole police shooting topics? How can you say "yall aren't oppressed" if you've never experienced any form of racism in your life? Furthermore "I don't have to like it" the BLM movement isn't something to be liked??? It's not supposed to be trendy and cool and likeable, it's there to raise awareness and change the constant pressure black people are under.
@@BeefyZawg and yes it is bad that white people die from cops also but how many times has it ever gotten to the extreme where a white man who was unarmed couldn't breathe because his neck was under a cops knee? Racism has gone in for centuries dude and it's still present today, you have white privilege, it's not about how many black people are killed it's about the reasons they are killed; because they're black. White people don't get killed because they're white. Simple as that.
This made me cry so hard… but sometimes it takes making the comfortable uncomfortable so that they can see what’s happening in the world I really don’t understand why people are so easiest and could probably make a whole speech about it🙏🙏🙏
I never quite understood BLM until recently, I a 14 year old white girl promise to keep the black people around me safe, no matter the cost whether it is my rights, my speech, or even my life. Our race shouldn't divide us, give some privilege, and make us feel any less safer than each other. All lives matter when black lives matter. If you disagree you are the problem, and try being in the situation of George Floyd or any black person who have gone through this or are going through this currently, you will have a different view on not just racism but life itself.
“No matter what we say, no matter how loud we shout, they refuse to hear us” that’s the hardest line I ever heard watching this movie for the first time a few hours ago I’ve never heard a line in a movie that goes harder than that

Super long but I get the message, being black is a privilege...but it’s also a curse from the day you come from the womb. And to be living as a black male at the age of 13 and seeing this...knowing that I may not be able to get married, get my degree, or even make it to high school....says a lot about the way I gotta live. I am from a Middle Eastern county, in our country race does not matter to anyone but we still have classes teaching us that All Lives Matter and are Equal. Our teacher once said, "If you're wrong you're wrong. If you're right you're right. Don't let anything change that, not your race, not your religion, not your clothing. Being a Human is first and I can confirm that every person of every race is a Human being."
That had me in tears from how that resonated with me. When she mentioned the talk I cried because I've had it too. They started giving me small advice and tips when I was two. Don't fight back. Always comply. Don't move. So yes, this is what we go through.
