It feels good to be back everyone!! 🫶 I hope you enjoyed this☺ What do you think causes us to stay in the comfort zone? Comment below: (what it is that you're afraid of) and write next to it "Do It Anyway" ✨
As a human, we are certainly affraid to take risk because it could disrupt our "work circuit' and we might be afraid of uncertainty. We are affraid that our emotions could be challenged Emotions are important cause they are driving our expections. Also, It depends on how our brains function, when some parts of our the brain are switched off, we are less likely to be aware of the risk we are taking. When we are in a default mode, we could then reflect on our life more and sometimes we are adding stress to the situation. People should learn how to forget bad things to enable the brain to create new pathway so that we could trust our skill to better deal with the unknown. We will gain serenity and we will trust the situation. No matter what will happen, we will trust our creativity to ajust to different enviromnent and we will normalize taking risk without having to be in a survival mode. We will b=be quiet in any situation while we could enjoy life with many different new approaches
@@lagomholly thanku so much Holly. And whilst living in India I have delved deep into the slow travel with slow living concept. Not only is the lifestyle better for health.... It's also the PERFECT opportunity to deeply connect with local families and learn about their lifestyles Inc their cooking methods on a deeper level. Also it's a great way to reduce my carbon footprint too. Hope u had a super time in BEAUTIFUL Canada ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Epic words, epic message! :) SUPER congrats Holly! You are a real life hero and will inspire so many! So don't stop and stay super out there. Just subscribed, cheers!
You are very inspiring and it is so nice how everything fell in place for you. You have the midas touch. I love the peace and gentle qualities about you and also your wisdom and contemplation.
My first ever trip abroad was when I was 22, and was solo, to meet pen pals in America (one Chicago n one Dallas). So not only was I doing my first ever flight on my own, I was going to meet people I had only ever written to or spoken with on the phone. That months trip changed me so much and to this day is something I am so proud of. Stepping out of my comfort zone opened me up to many more trips back to America and Europe, and to life long friendships 😊
Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed reading this! It resonates with me deeply🥹 I know it might not seem a big deal to some but I totally agree how much an experience like this makes you feel proud😊 It’s truly life changing in so many ways and something I’ll never forget! Thanks you for watching!🫶✨
Very nice video, Holly! I think you are right! It seems that my comfort zone is pretty big. I will need to buy a plane ticket to get out of it, though... lol. I mostly travel through RU-vid vlogs... lol. Hope you enjoyed your trip! Have a nice day! Greetings to the UK!
Thank you Harry! It’s a good way to see how others have documented their experiences and whether it’s somewhere you’d want to go for sure!😄 You never know where just a video can lead you! Greetings to you too☺️
Over the past few years I have found myself feeling consistently frustrated and I suppose somewhat lost in my life. I think I am coming to realise that it might be a sign of boredom and a change is needed in all areas (abode, employment, etc). It is something I plan to do sometime next year and your video resonated with me in terms of the message 'getting out of your comfort zone' so thanks for that. I have never been diagnosed with but think suffer from an element of social anxiety which doesn't make it easy but your video has inspired me to at least try. 👍❤
Thank you for sharing this!😊 I do relate with what you’ve said here, particularly the boredom element if I feel I’ve become “stagnant” in something or no longer growing. I think it’s a good sign though that we’re equipped to take on a new challenge and change direction! The hardest part is the courage to do so but rest assured after the first step the rest follows naturally and you never look back!😃 Wishing you luck and all the best, you won’t regret it☺️
Oh I’m so happy that you literally flew out your comfort zone and had an exhilarating time doing something you’ve long been wanting to 🥰 a very valuable message you give. A few years ago I did an east to west tour of Canada and saw some of the sights you show here, it really is a breathtaking country isn’t it and the people are so hospitable! I love seeing you beam as you talk about it 🥰
Thank you! I couldn’t agree more, a truly beautiful area of the earth I was constantly in awe🥹 Somewhere I will be back to as soon as I can! I’m so glad you resonated with this experience too! Thank you for watching🥰
Hollyyyy I’m here sorry it’s been a minute I got sick working in the heat and believe me Florida has been stupid hot 🥵 as always great video and you look even more wonderful than I remember
Thanks for these encouragements. We all have dreams and goals and we step out, but sometimes we're not good at it, so we feel like maybe slowing down or stopping. But, as you say in this video, do it anyway. Sometimes you want to accomplish something, but instead I find myself just dipping my toes into the pool, because I'm afraid. We all have to grow at our pace, but like you said, do it anyway. The way I think of it, is that we're constantly experimenting in life and as we get into the habit of our work, we tend to fall into a comfort zone. We realize our approach is not working, so we reach these moments where we have to take a leap and try something new. It's crazy how even when we've prepared for so long, we still have to push ourselves to new and unexpected things, like we're starting all over again. So, like I said, we want to stay where we are, but our future lie ahead of us and require us to move ahead. The comfort of today is an illusion, because things will change, but our goals will only be arrived at if we set out towards and go our there and, as you said, do it anyway. This video is a great message. Holly, it's been great watching you grow your channel over the last year.
Thank you for sharing this, I think you’ve summarised the whole concept perfectly! 😊 It’s a battle for sure between being comfortable which is nice and satisfying but then realising we need to move forward to grow and develop - something that’s inevitable at some point or another anyway! For me that’s why whenever the urge to move arises no matter how unfamiliar or uncomfortable just the act of doing it anyway has given me the confidence and realisation it’s not as scary or uncomfortable as initially perceived! It’s liberating to grow and learn and part of life’s greatest experiences😄 So glad you enjoyed this and thank you for your support the last year, it means a lot!☺️✨
Great message Holly :-) you look so beautiful, positive, and glowing, it makes me happy to see you happy. That's amazing you were able to overcome your fear of flying to get to a place you always wanted to visit. Fear of the unknown is a big one, I used to be afraid of cooking and driving growing up believe it or not, but I "did it anyway" and now I do both those things all the time. The bible says "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding" so if I have any fear it usually just means there's an area of my life I don't trust God with. The bible also says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight" anyone who has ever accomplished a dream first had a vision of it coming to pass before they saw it happen in the natural. That's why it's important to believe beyond what we see. My own battle has always been my own self-doubts, but I do it anyway :-)
Thank you Stephen, really appreciate your kind words!😊 I love that! You never know it can even lead to you enjoying that thing you once feared - that’s been somewhat the case for myself now with flying!😄 What wonderful quotes too that just go to show trust and belief are all we need to get us through☺️ Thank you for watching and wishing you the best!✨
@lagomholly All good beautiful Holly :-) thank you for your kind words also! Yes, you're right, often on the other side of fear is something greater. A long time ago I had a vision of me travelling the world and playing at music festivals everywhere. I still believe that, and as I pursue my dream it's like puzzle pieces slowly coming together and forming something that's starting to make more sense, wishing you the best also :-)
You are such an inspiration to me and spot on with your advice to do it anyway. I am at a crossroads and taking the first steps out of my own comfort zone and needed to hear your message. Thank you, thank you!! ❤
Wonderful narration Holly, especially the poem. Pain of regret is far worse than the fear of taking a risk. I loved the Quick sand analogy of the comfort zone. I too went on a solo trip for the first time. I could feel initial anxiety as I was leaving my home after a long gap. Now I feel so happy. Made friends. I could experience the positivity and kindness that exists around. World is far more beautiful than what we think!! I feel there is risk in everything that we do in life. Walking on road, driving a car, almost everything. But if we start to worry too much about risk, it would only deter us from living a meaningful life. Life begins at the end of comfort zone. DO IT ANYWAY!! ❤
Thank you, I'm so pleased you enjoyed this and it resonated with you too ☺ Honestly I couldn't agree more and I feel so lucky to have experienced solo travel for the unique lessons, growth and connections it has brought. Fear is nothing more than an illusion we can't allow to block the reality that lies beyond the comfort zone! Life's best lessons, growth and experiences certainly begin at the end of the comfort zone ✨ Thank you for sharing this! 🫶
Absolutely love love loved this video Holly. So simple but such important things we need to be reminded of! Feels like a sign this video, as it probably sounds a bit daft, but with your wisdom, simplistic and wholesome approach to life, you’re an inspiration to me and I’m sure many others too! Want to add to the nautical themed quotes on comfort zones “a ship is safe at shore but that is not what ships are made for” 😉 your travel clips looked amazing and I’m so pleased to hear you had what sounds an incredible time! You deserve it, use this as a springboard to keep going for life and not regretting! 🧡
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed this! 🫶 I really appreciate your words and support! What a wonderful and very apt quote on the theme of boats too, love it! ⛵ ✨ And absolutely, the only way is up from here! Can't wait for whats to come! Wishing you the best ☺
I always found that the absolutely worst part is stepping out the door. Once that's done, I'm far less likely to turn back. "It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."
Absolutely! The first step will always be the hardest with the most hesitation to take but once you do you never look back! Thank you for sharing this✨
I missed your videos. Really, getting out of your comfort zone is necessary and your video gave me the push I needed to take certain actions, merci :) And I'm glad you've lost your fear of flying :)
OMG She's back lol. Seemed like you were away for months Holly, but lovely to see you clearly had a great time in Canada and back feeling refreshed after your holiday. You have been missed and it's great to have you back and creating your great content again. Keep smiling and hope you've had a great weekend. 😘😘❤❤🌟🌟🌟
Thank you Andy!😄 It sure felt like I’d been away a while too so it feels good to be back 😆 It truly was amazing and I can’t wait to share more from this experience with you soon too! I hope you have a great week☺️
How great that you had such a wonderful experience! I would love to see you do a video talking about the highlights of what you did and how you experienced some of the adventures!
Getting out of the confort zone is accepting to deal with uncertainty. We need to be prepared mentally to trust the process and trust our skills/emotions when we are facing something new. Creativity is a great way to prepare ourself as we are not expecting any outcomes, we are going through divergent thinking and at the end of the day, we will end up learning new things on the road
I agree with you entirely! I was thinking of making a video about how to trust yourself (and intuition) as that is fundamental to making the right decisions 😊 From my experience there is always something to learn whether my plans work out or not so I never leave empty handed ✨ Thank you for watching and sharing! ☺
@@lagomhollyI would not miss it and I will give you all my support ;) Interesting point! Sometimes it's more important to focus on how our mind navigate to learn a specific lesson rather than what we learn. I agree that failure could be in harmony with our knowledge to lead us to specific state of emotion. That particular emotional state could teach us unique lessons.:D
Holly, I totally resonate! No Fear was a skateboard slogan that was popular a decade ago. I experienced the same thing you did on your solo trip. My fear was just about any ride that tickles your stomach. I was deathly afraid of Ferris wheels. But going to Disneyland broke my fear. It was a ride called California Screamin’. It did an upside down loop on the Mickey ears and it was a roller coaster that hauled. After 20 rides on that thing, I was ready for any ride! And I think it changed chemical processes in my mind that helped me to become bolder and braver and more daring as a person. No risk, no reward!
I loved reading this, thank you for sharing!🥹 It truly goes to show we can beat any fear we set our minds to and no obstacle is ever impossible to overcome! The confidence and belief it brings only leads to overcoming more!✨
You’re so right! Great video! 😀 We all go through seasons of life that may require change that may seem risky or scary as well. I flew for the first time by myself last spring across country & was nervous & scared & it ended up being the best flight I’ve ever experienced! Truly! 😀 I would love to hear about your trip & about safety in solo traveling especially as a woman & traveling in a different country 😊 Would love to hear what you did to stay safe & your travel tips & tricks 😊
You couldn’t have summarised it any better!😄 I’m so pleased you relate to this and have been able to overcome your fear too!💪 I’ll defo make a video summarising my experiences soon and answering any questions as it’s truly been an amazing experience I couldn’t recommend it more☺️✨
Honestly, taking that first step is so hard! What motivated you into action? Was it on a whim or had you been planning this challenge? P.s. this vlog was inspiring
For sure, but once taken you’ll never look back! I think it’s a multitude of factors - intuition, desire to learn and the urge for a challenge! But it’s something I’ve always longed to do too and everything just fell into place at the right time!😃 Thank you for watching!☺️
Holly, you are back! Brilliant video. Travelling definitely changes a person a lot marking personal growth. I yearn to travel a lot in the future. Often, people find themselves in their comfort zone due to the monotony of their lives. Though people genuinely feel uncomfortable with uncertainty, I find the 'fear of the unknown' strange. Why would you be afraid of something that hasn't occurred yet? I would focus on what I can do at the moment. As you mentioned, "Do it anyway.'" By the way, lovely poem. It was just 'Holly-istic.' 🫶
Thank you! I couldn’t agree more! It’s one of the greatest wonders of life being able to connect with people from entirely different backgrounds and experience places so far from home! The learning and growth it brings is unmatched and overshadows any worries or uncertainty☺️ Really glad you enjoyed this and thank you for watching!🫶✨
