If you ever have trouble with a carbie and it appears very clean and you can't see anything, it could be a droplet of water. You will often find water in petrol and this can cause a lot of problems for carbies. There are lots of products on the market to deal with this, even for two stroke engines, but if you don't have anything, but you have some Metholated Spirits, then use that. Metho will mix with water and with petrol, thus taking it through the combustion process and out the exhaust. So, if you are just using the small tank on the motor, then try mixing a half shot glass of metho or a bit more in that tank. If you have a 5 to 10 litre fuel tank in the boat, you can put say a quarter cup of metho in it and mix it around to help attract all the water. I would only use the metho if you have nothing else. Best to have some proper water/fuel treatment options available in your spares, because often times it can be a droplet of water near your main jet that is blocking it.
