How did you manage to still have money? My city keeps going bankrupt with full specialized Industry, all my services at 50 percent and my taxes all the way up. I’ve been trying to learn how to play the game and see the difference (other than the usage of dirt roads) but I keep going broke and destitute. The craziest thing is your building a larger area than I can afford. I played the original Cities Skylines but It seems the current economy is broke to start with
build services slower at the beginning. You might even skip some of them. If you put up taxes too high, no one will want to live or set up businesses in your city, so you won't recieve any income. Keep a large cash buffer at the beginning, as you'll lose money while the city finds it's feet, spending all your money straight away is the number one city killer.
Yeah I’m still struggling with it right now, something I should have done right away is building the wind turbines instead of import electricity. I lost so much cash because of that. All of my services are at 50% budget. Also the new building they are smaller and cheaper to build and maintain so that helps for sure. My taxes are a bit high, I had to decrease them a bit so demand came back. I still haven’t found equilibrium yet…it’s much harder than when CSii was just released for sure, but it gives you a challenge if you’re up for it. (Ps I’m about to go bankrupt hahah)
@@MackPlaysOnMac well then, make more videos of you struggling to make a city and post it to the Paradox Forums, if this is true than the game is broken in the current state. I feel like the only players that are doing well atm are those that already have established cities. I’m at a point personally that I’m going to have to make cities with an endless budget.
@@justinnewcomb2279 that's totally true, I was very fine with my already established city, balancing the budget was fairly easy, but starting from scratch, not that easy, I kinda wish they kept the subsidies just like for the first year maybe...
@@MackPlaysOnMac one of the main problems now is that the services cost so much, and if you reduce the budgets you just get bad services. I like to make sure I build enough road infrastructure to get enough people quickly enough to take advantage of my services. I find the base level of services needs a population of 3-5k or so to really balance out, so make sure you build enough houses etc to support that. Other than that, skip building fire services, high schools, etc, til you really need them. For power, I used to do the coal plant, now I tend to do a few turbines, til I have enough money to get the waste incinerator.
