This is one great horseman. Of all the draft horse videos I’ve watched on RU-vid this guy is number one. After you watch a few of his videos, I’m sure you’ll agree.
You have an amazing horses, i wish i can have at list a couple, but watching your videos, makes me like im back in my young days,i was group up in Ukraine, and i was all ways love horses. You are great, just make more good videos.Thank you.
Ha ha, silly funny, the horses are so heavy, weigh as much as our moose in Alaska and Ken takes the Prize! Wow, almost 2k, almost a Ton..Wow! No wonder they can pull so much, and....thats muscle, not couch fat. So impressive. .. Looking forward to watching the pulls.. Thanks, and thanks for the laugh, and the beautiful mains picture from yrs past, now they got their military haircuts, ah ha. I am working my way through the videos, maybe I am a half way through, I should be caught up by the Easter Bunny. Lovin it.. I hate to even think of getting a foot under those steel horse shoes, that would be a bad day. Very cool video.. Thanks..
I must say for someone that lives in a large urban area I am jealous of your simple life on the land. I retire in 3 years and I hope to take up a simpler lifestyle such as yours.
Your horses are really well mattered. Brenda its nice to see you in front of the camera like that. Good to see who in charge. Lol and your little showing off camera time..
I trim my draft horse's mane but not her forelock because she uses it to keep the flies out of her eyes. I'm just wondering how you do that in the summer. Beautiful, beautiful horses you have.
Just watched this! HA HA, my Dad cut the neighbor boys hair with the cow clippers- My Mom use to cut his hair for .50 cents, and his Mother always complained about it, so he came down for a hair cut and my Mom wouldn't do it, so Dad says to me- go to the barn and get the cow clippers, so I did- Dad ask him what kind did he want, and he said a buzz! Off it came, he was as happy as can be and gave my Dad the .50 cents, and my Dad gave it back to him and sent him home- His mother never sent him down again!! Brenda, you crack me up!
If you hadn't clipped the manes and brushed the dirt out, the horses would have been heavier.(: Mine are much heavier, but then they do not even do a tenth of the work yours do, and they are bigger. It's great to see that everybody is in fantastic shape, especially Brenda (did I get the name right?)
Jim, the horse pulls I've seen at the country fairs, I don't know that much about it, but it seems like the horses are a little anxious to go and as soon as they hear that clink noise of them being hitched to the sledge, they really dig in and take off, a couple of times the guy misses getting them hitched to the sledge and they have to line them back up at the sledge again, I'm not sure if that's a little like animal abuse because of what they are expected to pull, but I could be wrong. Like I said, i do love horses.
Good day for you my englich it not perfect me living in Canada province de Québec .me i like your worke with the horses you have not cow for a milk.me watch you with a verry in téresting tanck you
@@WorkingHorsesWithJim I think you mean 1,670 and 1,450 POUNDS. In kg's that would be well over 3600lbs xD The heaviest horse ever recorded was 21.2hh and 3,360lbs!
Why do you clip the mane? I can understand the feathers as they would pick up mud . What kind of horses are they? In Scotland our heavy draught horses are Clydesdales and we don't take mane off we pluck the tail to keep it short and tidy the feathers but we don't clip them either.
