Do you have a used jigsaw blade?
The blade is only partially worn, and there are still some parts that are not worn.
This is the idea of reusing a worn jigsaw blade.

The position of the blade is very important when trying this jig. If doesn't work, try shifting the blade position slightly.

Would it be easier to be precise if you put in the blades first, then positioned the holes tangent?

@@alans1816 No because the holes determine the width of the dowels you are trying to make. Drilling the holes first ensures that the blade slots will be lined up correctly to the dowel holes. If you put the blades in first one side would always be off a little and you would produce wonky dowels.

I was luckily enough to have a wonderful grandpa who was happy to teach his granddaughter many things. One was putting grooves up dowels allows the glue to travel the whole length, making a better fix. He also taught mr French polishing but we never got round to his other hobby which was book binding. Unfortunately we lived in different countries and I didn’t get to see him as often as I now wish I had. Miss that man.

I grew up in the same state as my Grandfather, and i still feel like i didnt get enough time with him. He taught me many things, from how to hunt and fish, to how to control my temper (never finished those lessons, i still have my moments). No doubt if not for him, i wouldnt be the person i am today.

I have always regretted not realizing the wealth of information my grandfather had until very late. I still had him for a number of years after that but to think what I could have learned from him had I been able to see it much earlier. He wasn’t a nice man but he wasn’t a mean one either (taciturn is the term I typically use). He definitely was a great man who was capable of absolutely anything he set his mind to.

@@jerseyj2 my grandfather was a head master so could easily teach. He had fought in WW1 and when being treated for a minor injury off the front line his fellow soldiers were all gassed. Seriously, do you think he actually uses that as a production shop? That saw on the wall is completely impractical for a serious project. None of the wood surfaces have seen any wear. He pulled up and RETAPED the block so he could cut the other side instead of just moving around the piece. This guy probably spends 90% of his time watching other YT videos then reproducing what he finds as "original content". This man is really demonstrated the details, precision, and long lasting in Japanese products. Their culture taught them hard work, humble, details, and precision. These are the keys to superior, long lasting products. Not like all the junk, disposable....Chinese made products nowadays....CREATE tons of garbage/environmental hazards for planet earth, and also set a trend of "one time use" culture around the globe. I rather pay premium price for a precise, long lasting products cause in a long run I will save more, less garbage, less headache, less time wasted for maintenance, and less junks to maintain.
