It’s embarrassing how many loc journeys I’ve started over the years trying to mimic someone else’s 😢I’m a year in this set come December and I’ve finally accepted THIS advice… when I was a loose natural it was easier advice for me to follow because I’d follow influencers for inspiration not imitation. I think it was harder for me with locs bc I was following people 10+ years locs and trying to do what they said to a T when in reality they were just leaving their hair alone and living their lives 😅
Yes, I’m glad you’re learning to embrace YOUR journey this time around 🫶🏾✨ I also think it’s important to find inspiration/ search content from people in ALL stages of their loc journey not just people who are 10+ years in. If you’re only seeing people with super long locs while you’re just starting out, it’ll def make you frustrated 🤣
omg yes!! My favorite loc influencer uses a mix of 10 different oils twice a day, and I always used a lot of oils when natural so I thought this was great advice. When I tell you my locs said noooooo, I had sooo much dandruff and buildup and now I can only use 2 oils! Thank you for posting this! Subscribed
I constantly tried using and getting into coconut oil as a loose natural while in high school. One time I used it before I went to go stand at the bus stop during the winter. I randomly touched my hair while I was waiting and my strands were frozen 💀 I said never again.
