Honestly dark souls 3 is hard but dark souls 2 is literally the most painful game I’ve ever played in my life.

You gotta switch the blue potion (magic) for more of the orange (health). Go to the blacksmith in firelink shrine and allocate estus. Also, there’s an estus shard in firelink shrine.

Dark souls 3 was my first souls game, and watching you get sliced up by the Lothric knights brought back traumatic memories.

Pro tip: Get AT LEAST 27 vigor since it is the first softcap. You will have 1000 health and 1300 if you have embers. That is pretty much enough to beat the whole game pretty easily.

Man, the Curse Rotted Greatwood really sucks to fight the first time because you don't know about the cysts.. After you learn where they all are, the boss is too easy. I used to sit outside that boss fight and farm sunlight medals by helping people with him. You can actually beat that boss with nothing but destroying cysts and never needing to hit the hand at all.

To anyone having similar issues... GET A SHIELD!!! Use it to block until you can learn to parry. It makes this game so much easier.... The room at 3:30-ish you can pick them off with a bow, throw firebombs at the barrels all from the ledge above. He chose the worst way to do the part. 😂😂Also, you can throw a dagger at an enemy to lure them 1 at a time. This was so painful to watch😂😂 6:45 backstabs do work. Dont get to close Kick the shielded enemies. They will lower their shield....Easy critical hits. Also, put points into your health. You can't do damage when you're dead. Dont ignore stamina either. Boost those and then go for your primary stat(faith, dex, str, etc.) No shame in farming those knights, including that knight with the blue cape for souls, weapons, armor, and gems. And to practice blocking and parrying. This video is hilarious

so the purple invaded you because you were embered, or accessing coop/pvp with the extra health buff. now that you've killed the tree, idk if hodrick will come back, nor am i sure if you can complete his particular quest, but its really no big deal tbh. now that you've beaten one of the 2 gimmick bosses, most of the rest of the games fights will be more straightforward, minus one fight much later on.

All souls like the area in between felt harder then the bosses ds3 and bloodborne realy started with the harder boss fights. (Yeah i know manus in ds1 but he was still pretty easy in comparison to later games and ds2 bosses were just a joke tbh)

I guess this is funny but if you're serious your problem is you're trying to fight too much at once. If you learn to pull ads the game becomes easy as hell.

For the invation thingies you have to be in ember form (consume an ember). If you are not you don't get invaded and the invade are actually really useful. P.D. Good luck, in my opinion DS3 is the greatest Soul experience on par with DS1 when it came out. and it holds on really good to this day

I can't recall if you've played Demon Souls but that game has harder areas compared to boss fights, the run to the boss is harder than the boss itself 😂

Not sure if others have said this but if your ember is restored it will allow you to get invaded which is why hodrick attacked you and didn't reappear, also if you plan to go back to the begining area of lothric bring a bow and fire bombs, certain enemies are weak to fire and the dragon cannot be reached with melee

I don't know if someone else has told you this or not this is something you can't find out unless you search it up but in firelink shrine if you run up the stairs to the right when you enter and go through the Archway you'll come across a tower you can talk to the old woman and you can buy the key for 20000 Souls but there's another way to get extra equipment including another estus flask if you take off all your armour run into the tree with your back towards the tower then push your character towards the ledge and jump you can jump up and skip the 20,000

Tip for any red eyed mobs they are way more aggressive, much much stronger and sometimes they will aggro against other mobs if u lead the red eyed mobs to them

The dogs & thralls are the worst but all gangkers will wreck you. I advise to always scope places out first and if it looks like a trap, it is lol

Bro you made the cursed-rotted greatwood way harder than it is. Actually next to one other boss in the game he’s one of the easiest ones. In fact DS3 is probably the easiest of all the dark souls games. I’ve played almost every souls/borne game and all I can say is 1) explore everything and 2) take your time. You cannot rush through these games and certainly not run through mobs. These are games of patience.

If you think Dark souls mobs is difficult than the boss. Don't touch Demon Souls. That game real difficulty is the boss run. The boas itself are gimmick boss and easy.

It's kind of funny. I personally find Dark Souls 3 to be the easiest of the trilogy. Maybe it's the speed of the rolling or something I don't know. I honestly find DS2 to be the hardest game. Between your i-frames being influenced by their own stat and it bolstering some of the most frustrating areas in the series (I'm looking at you reindeer hell) It's not a good time. While I do agree DS3 has more difficult enemies then DS2, it's hardly a difference when DS2 makes you fight an army everywhere you go.

This was my first souls game, the first time I played it I got to the tree boss and quit for about a year I think. When I got back to it I finally beat it with a couple friends. Good luck because the whole game was an absolute pain for me. Also, enjoy the swamp 😈

Also every weapon has there own skill much like the ash’s of war from Elden ring the main different’s being that u can’t put one weapon skill on another weapon

tbh the best way to deal with enemies is to aggro one enemy at a time. there is always a certain distance that they'll detect you or wont detect you, also if you are fighting a fast enemy and a slow one its best to separate them with distance from one another. if its dogs then its best to take care of them behind a wall or structure so you dont get hit by an enemy throwing things at you while you fight them. if you have throwables its best to use them to kill small health enemies first from a distance. alot of souls-like games is all about being tactical and positioning about you and the enemies.

I did kinda same thing like you, just breeze through whole game without actually exploring. Now doing 2nd playthrough and bought DLCs and exploring everything. 🔥

Dark souls is meant to be played more defensively get and use a shield. BB an LoP are more offensive games. Don't get me wrong there are people who have the skill to play DS3 offensively with no death/no hit runs, but you still have a little ways to go before you reach those lofty heights. Gotta crawl before you walk.

Also just a tip for you - that katana has a great parry for the knights - practice now and it will help greatly on tougher future knights

oof.. yeah not gunna lie going Bloodborne then DS 1-3 was helpful as i didnt use a sheild AT ALL, just had the grass crest on back for extra Stamina regen. biggest thing Bloodborne taught me was dodge THROUGH attacks and stick on big enemies butt's. Good Luck my guy. It does get easier, also sellsword blades top tier.

You think this is hard because you're playing it as if you're playing bloodborne or elden ring. This is dark souls and when you play DS for the first time you need to use a shield. Bloodborne was about taking the initiative and geting up close and personal, Sekiro is about counters, Souls series is about patience, blocking and dodge rolls. And Elden Ring, well, that's just about Malenia doing Malenia things xD

When I first played this game I have same struggle as you in High Wall of Lothric. Can't remember how many times I Alt F4 the game after getting killed by random mobs 😂. I really wanted to play the game but got so mad by that. Once I passed that, things went smooth and I could play till the end without rage quitting. Guess patience in this game must be built from time to time

I like playing as a sorcerer with no armour or clothing. i sing silly songs and laugh a lot while taunting the AI by dodging around them without hitting them for a while. My other favourite build is Barbarian wearing nothing but some cloth covering my genitals and use a greatword. The key to DS3 is dodging. Get that right and you don't need to wear any armour and the game becomes a walk in the park.

A side tangent: why are blood borne fans the easiest souls fans to piss off? Like i enjoyed my time with blood borne a lot, but I had some grievances and when I went to discord to heirout said grievances I got the mods so but hurt, I got banned. Fun times :).

probably gonna be easier if you just go with the long sword and vigor instead of dex for the katana, katana not that good in pve and more like for pvp in this game, 2 handed the claymore also a decent choice if you dont use the shield

Ya, i realized firebombs=friend in this game theres a decent amount of explosive barrels around and damn does blowing them up with a group of enemies make the traversal not pain

You'd think Lies of P would've taught you not to panic. Curse Rotted Greywood is genuinely the easiest boss in DS3, you just made it really hard on yourself with how often you spammed dodge :P Deliberate gameplay will help, trust in the system of recognizing an attack and using s in this case, same as Lies of P's deflect, to get around the problem

This game was great but some of those boss battles were brutal.

Again you say you're gonna explore but you find none of the items that are supposed to help ya like extra weapons, bonfires ect
