I was originally excited for Satya Nadella to replace Ballmer at Microsoft, and it’s become less reactionary and grounded in their old bullshit, but the mercenary gleefulness in mining user data and disorganization in matters like this is stomach-churning.
I literally have to completely erase my Windows installation once a year because of some weird ass bugs or blue screens that only get solved with a fresh install... Tells you a lot about Windows doesn't it? 💀
@commie.frankly Yeah I’d love the option for official non-Apple support. Gaming is a pain too, though I’m hoping the recent game porting toolkit changes that.
So......if you simply installed windows 11 21h1, or windows 10 with a normal media creation tool installer (not rufus, which you don't need on this computer), and used the VMD driver, it would have worked right? Seems like you are making this into a bigger deal than it is. Seems acer has some weird incompatability with their VMD setup with w11 22h2, a new driver or bios will probably fix it.
Tried with numerous programs to write the USB (win32diskinager, and the official one included) to no avail. 21h1 is not available for download from Microsoft. Agree it’s probably an acer thing, but couldn’t update the BIOS until I had a windows install, which could only have been an old build obtained from a dodgy source.
