I said this was going to be a short video on how long each product lasted + a mini review… In typical Kez fashion i rambled on for a bit! My apologies in advance 🫠 hopefully you still find useful information in this video.
I find so many influencers say “this product is not that expensive because it lasts forever! It is good value for money!”. However, I have not found that to be the case. Most people dont have hundreds of articles of makeup, like these influencers, so with daily use products get up a lot faster than these influencers imply. I hope this video helps show you how long products really last so that you can make informed decisions about how you spend your money.

Your intro so reminds me of the Hourglass palettes 😅everyone says how they will last you for eternity despite them containing small size pans and much less than their standard size singles. I'm close to emptying both powders and I've been using it for only 6 months and only 2 times a week. Clearly all the beauty gurus never touch theirs! 😂I'm even having side pan on the highlighter

OMG! Hourglass palettes are so expensive & to use them that quickly.... It's a rip off! Yes! That's my point, I was shocked when I got into makeup how quickly things get used up. It did not reflect what influencers were reporting about their makeup usage. Which makes you wonder if their reviews can be trusted. It is really upsetting sometimes when a product is very expensive & you thought it would last longer but you go through it like water 😭

I had just been thinking about this recently, especially for powder blush/highlights. I have two of each and don’t use daily so it’ll probably last me at least 3 years 😭Trying to get down to just 1 of everything. I’m at that point where I’m done being a super consumer and only buy stuff I’ll actually use & like. As well as follow people who don’t focus on always finding the next best thing. Thank you for this video and I really like this idea of videos every few months when you have empties!

Yes! So often I think we get influenced to buy things that we realistically weren’t ever going to like. I think that’s a good mentality to have going forward, buy things that you like & what will actually be used. I find it so much harder to find honest reviews as everyone just says everything is great 😂 when it really isn’t!Hopefully you are able to get enough use out of your blush & highlighter before it expires ☺️Makeup is expensive so when it expires before we can finish using it, I feel bad for wasting money. Luckily powder products do last longer than cream products, but still. I’m glad you liked the video though. I appreciate the feedback, I’ll keep a hand on my empties & in a few months we can look how much I’ve used & what I have finished. I’ll make it into a regular thing going forwards❤️ Thank you

When you say the concealer expired are you going by what the product says or did the product change/ smell bad? Very interesting video!

Thank you for this great question! So, both concealers say to use within 6 months of opening. However, I could use the L'Oreal True Match Concealer for 1 year. The texture was drier after around 8 months of use & it burned my skin slightly upon application closer to the 12 month mark. I immediately stopped using it once I noticed it stung my skin. The Maybelline concealer started burning my skin around 6 months of use, at which point I stopped using it. Hope this answered your question ❤ Thank you🙂

Testers are to be used. I'd complain at MAC to waste your money by having someone give you the wrong shade

See that makes sense to me! I always thought testers were meant to be for TESTING! I thought maybe MAC had a different policy because she was so harsh with me when I tried to touch anything. Clearly that lady had some issue with me 🤔🤷‍♀

Yes, I was SHOCKED at how rapidly I went through it. Fortunately, Essence is a very affordable brand. The powder itself cost me less than 5 euros.

Yes I know I have the same powder, so I will see how long I will need for this, I think 7 months. I am panning two powders at the moment one in my travel bag and one at home, because I travel a lot for work. I use 1.5-1.8 g powder per month, I have dry skin. I have a lot of powder and I pan old make up, too. I would appreciate if you make more Videos about panning, I like it and it's motivating, because I want to reduce my stuff and want only have products which I like, but don't want to waste products.

@@Kristina-yr6xg Okay, helpful feedback! Thank you 😊I so agree about using makeup but also only having what you like. It's frustrating when you're just trying to finish something that you don't like because you bought it. I do that a lot. However, it is really rewarding to finally get to the end of things. I have had people ask to do more videos on empties like this & I was going to do a video every 3 months of what I had finished as I usually have a good few finished products at the end of 3 months. Are you in favour of that too, or are you thinking more along the lines of monthly updates? Thank you again for your input, it is honestly so helpful.

How often do you wear makeup? I wear makeup 3-4 days a week and I haven't used up anything in a year, even when I tried using the same product.

I just started a makeup channel, so it is kind of important for me to wear makeup daily to be able to record new content and improve my skills. So this is the usage you could expect if you wore makeup daily, & using the same product daily. If you have 3 lipsticks for example and rotate between them, even if you wear lipstick daily it will take you longer to finish each of them. I also like to reapply lipstick throughout the day, it's fun for me so I go through lipstick faster than eyeliner becuase I do not reapply eyeliner. I hope this response was helpful for you 🤗❤
