It is so good to see Layton and Nikita able to publicly show their affection for each other and their sadness at the end of this intense period of their relationship. Unfortunately many of the older generation (of which I am one!) grew up believing that a public display of affection between boys and men was deeply suspect, showed weakness and was probably sexually perverse! Likewise public displays of male grief or distress like crying except in very limited circumstances. They were discouraged/punished by adults shaming and name calling any young boys who were slow to 'man up'. With so much emotion bottled up for generations no wonder males still make up three quarters of suicides in the UK! It has been wonderful to see that times are changing. On Strictly nowadays male professionals and celebrities are open in celebrating each other's successes and in bad times comforting each other as well. I think both the gay and theatrical communities have always been leaders in this area and deserve credit for it so it's not surprising to see it on Strictly. I look forward to continuing representation of all the different minorities as well. As Layton said on ITT we don't choose the way that we are born. I would add nor do we choose the life changing injuries and illnesses that can occur afterwards as Nikita's diabetes demonstrates. They are both role models to be celebrated for so many reasons 👏👏👏👏

I knew they wouldn't get it since Blackpool but man if I'm not gutted they didn't win. They truly truly deserved that trophy, specially Nikita. They did us proud and made their mark in the show for years to come, but it's sad they didn't win.

At the time of writing, the Lakita January/February tour within the Strictly tour has almost sold out. I am so glad they are maximising their time together and hope their workshops go well.

I cried watching this for the first time and I just cried watching it again. Their genuine love and respect for each other, their beautiful friendship and the amazing dances they gave us each week made this series of Strictly so special for me. I'm so proud of Layton and Nikita.❤❤
