I solved the last one thanks to a hint. What chris didn't understand is the final hint is the url like the first. its full circle, like the meaning to most of abrams' stuff. Dont overthink it and try not to get lost.
Honestly good for you! If I did all of that work I would want people to have to do the same thing and have the same fun and experience/ frustration. Good job man.
Been a huge fan also love puzzles my entire life. My wife buys them for me all the time. I find the hardest part sometimes is putting them back together but ones like this intrigue me. I have not done any online puzzles but intrigued especially by the Cicada project and puzzles like that.
People think I am crazy when I see codes in stuff. I figured out there was an arg for gravity falls and none of my friends believed. I stumbled acrossed Cicaida no one believed me. I love these puzzles. Awesome.
An alternate reality game (ARG) is an interactive networked narrative that uses the real world as a platform and employs transmedia storytelling to deliver a story that may be altered by players' ideas or actions. The form is defined by intense player involvement
So some quick googling and found out 2 things 1. They don’t give you stuff anymore. Solving the puzzle is purely self satisfaction. 2. The answer to number 7 is… something that’s gonna fly over a lot of peoples heads. I’m not saying anything but I think it would be fair to at least push people in the right direction of where they might possibly start to piece together the combination.
@@shadesthefreespirit3099 I’d love to give you a hint but I’m not sure how to spell it out and adhere to the no spoilers policy without also just telling you what to go look for. At most I’ll say go take a look at some of the stuff J.J. Abrams worked on. I never personally experienced the body of work the numbers come from so that’s why I had to do some digging
@@shadesthefreespirit3099 Look a little deeper. Only one of his works holds the answer. Surely you'll figure it out sooner or later. Take your time and don't overthink it. 😉
I completed tobordab back in grade 7 with a couple of class mates. in the end, i still view it as one of my biggest accomplishments in the last 7 years.
Whoooa The patient you have is amazing Chris 👏 🙌 I've would have stopped way before.. "hmm 🤔 hm no, no is good the way it is" 😂 Love from Sweden brother
Well, I thought I'd give it a go before/during watching this, see if I could figure things out. First couple of puzzles weren't too bad, then I got stuck on the radio because the sound just didn't work consistently enough to make any sense out of it. So I went looking online for help, didn't find anything, came back to see if you managed it. I have to admit I cribbed your answer on that one... and in looking for that answer, I got a hint on the 'invisible' image, but that still took a little work to get it right. I also have to admit I was stuck on the video until I watched and you pointed out the binary numbers. So I scoured the puzzle video for those a couple of times, found a bunch, but couldn't quite make sense of them. So I came back here, and turns out I found some letters you didn't, and you filled in a couple of the gaps for me. Still not complete, but enough to take a stab at it, so I paused and tried it, and it worked. Yay! And now I am stuck on the safe. I have a fair idea what the answer relates to, but I'm damned if I can figure out how to make it work. Still, I understand why you didn't show the solution, and after I've already stood on your shoulders a bit it seems only fair that I figure it out myself.... that, and Google isn't much help. Found a reddit thread which claimed to have the answer but it doesn't work. So I guess I just have to keep trying. Right after I get some sleep. Anyways, thanks. This is a pretty cool puzzle.
I'm right there with you. I've tried Google, Reddit, another supposedly helpful source, and I've got nothing. people keep saying it's the Lost number backwards but that didn't work for me either.
@@jp2411 I tried it again this morning, my computer had reset overnight (updates, I guess), and it worked. Pretty sure I did the same thing as yesterday, but I did notice the site was kinda glitchy. The radio didn't work right, sometimes the 'wrong answer' sound was delayed, that sort of thing.
During the Oscar Wilde quote part I got curious myself so I inverted colours on my phone and Holy hell that looked cool, your tattoos were all white along with your clothes and idk just looked so dope
i love puzzles but #7 threw me for a loop. i saw the clue and i had the numbers but i couldnt see what was in front of me. I had to walk away and then it hit me. sometimes a break will give you the clues you need
Their needs to be a part 2 to this one for the answers if u dont receive anything from them and for the noj puzzle people who watch you like me and two if u do get something in the mail let us know what it is
This went from puzzle to ARG as you went. I recognized some of the ARG techniques (brightening images, reverse speech, finding hidden codes in videos, etc) from watching too much Game Theory and some of the ARGs they've tackled.
For those (like me!) who solved along, and are trying to solve the final part, I spent HOURS trying to figure out why what I had figured out to be the most likely solution was not working... After some properly coffee induced rage, I gave up, closed the site and enjoyed life. But, as puzzles always seem to do, it pulled at my soul and nagged my conscience to go finish the job. So I tried again - and it worked first time. I wasn't really sure WHY this happened, so I tried an experiment - the bottom line is, if you THINK you know the answer... REFRESH THE PAGE FIRST!!!! It seems the code entry script isn't forgetting previous attempts, if you haven't entered enough numbers (no spoilers!), so it doesn't always work if you DO put the right combination in. So refresh the page after every attempt. This post contains absolutely NO spoilers, inferred or otherwise (Chris can verify this if he wants) - the solution is exceptionally satisfying, if irritating!
I love your raw reactions and visible struggle processing all the thoughts and emotions you were experiencing when you solved the puzzle! Thank you for sharing Chris! And coming back to do this puzzle! 🙏🏼💕💕
Puzzle solve was amazing as usual. Would not have been able to figure a couple of those out for my own. But on another note, I must know, what is that shoe/sneaker patent poster behind you?
Yo Chris, new fan here , absolutely LOVE your channel… you literally have the coolest job in the world. After watching this get a little ARG, I was wondering if you ever delved into cicada 3301? (Happened to notice what looks like a cicada on your hand) It would be cool to do a video to get in touch with some of the people who solved the original ones, and work on the latest one?? Just if your up for it it be hella fun to watch, I know a bunch of crazy people are into that even if it’s died down since original hype. Anyway, love your videos, I wish I even knew about this when it came out. So cool thanks for having the coolest job ever.
I've been working on the book "S." by JJ Abrams's and Doug Dorst, since 2013. Though I have solved several of the ciphers, many more remain unsolved. If you're interested in reading it, I can get you up to speed. It makes this puzzle look like a Cryptoquip. I know what you mean when you say you have to take a break to clear your head. "S." is one Hell of a rabbit hole. I've obsessed over a single chapter for years. I've made a lot of headway, but still haven't cracked it.
I //obsessed// over 'S' for years. Avoided online. It was a project for me and me alone. Gods, now I want to go back and go through more because I know I only scratched the surface.
@@RevVoice2 The main point was to bring people together, to share knowledge, to connect. If you want, I can share what I've learned. Some of it is pretty surprising. For instance, I know where Straka was when SOT was published. I know the framework of the Interlude cipher, but not the solution.
When you start getting those Morse code sounds it TOTALLY reminded me of the movie Contact with Jodi Foster when she was listening to her headphones sitting on her car hearing the Prime number sequence.
I don't think I've ever identified with you as much as at 7:16. Seeing that you signed your journal as "Indiana Ramsay" struck a real familiar cord with me.
For the piano thing I went to source code to see what key is what on the keyboard haha. Edit: couldn't figure out the wave form. Took while to notice that the black knobs and orange one can be turned. Not great for touchpad. Also for some reason I dont get sound out of it at all
If they're still sending something physical out, then censoring that final solution is the right decision. It seems kind of unbelievable that they would still be doing so after five years, but maybe Bad Robot and/or Theory 11 will let you know if they aren't and it'd be okay to uncensor the video.
I hate YOU Chris Ramsay! I was obligated to purchase your dices... I love that kind of dice!!! Thanks, and still love with you, don't worry ;) Force from France!
