Since coming to Japan I have wanted to catch one fish and that is the Sakura Masu. Last year time was against me, but this year I was determined that I would catch a salmon and finally we managed to catch one.
Fishing in Japan and salmon fishing especially is a long standing tradition and the eagerly anticipated run of the cherry salmon aka Sakura Masu has been in folk lore for years. I wanted to join this action and after a number of attempts both by boat and from the shore we managed to catch one!
