I grew up watching football in the 80’s and that will always be the best time, football wise, for me. Grounds had atmosphere, the money in the game wasn’t obscene like it is today and tackling was allowed. Plus we didn’t have any of the VAR rubbish.

i thought the name baby squad came about when a load of young leicester lads fought with leeds at elland road some body said they are only babies and the name baby squad stuck
@ad630
@ad630 Месяц назад
Yes, it did. The name was coined by a group of older guys to describe the younger kids that travelled to away games.

Millwall played Leicester in a night game at the old Den and I recall this guy mingling in - in the seats. Fair play, that took some bottle. Nobody noticed him and I didn't say anything- respected his front to be honest.

As an ex united lad filbert st was always a lively day,,in regard to why cockney reds support utd and not a london team,this is because alot of familes left manchester in the 60’s and 70’s for work etc and stayed down there as my family did

Bumped into a few lads from the baby squad in Blackpool, closed season. We had it with Leeds in the afternoon (I got knocked over by a taxi) then in the evening we'd got split up from the rest our lads & it went off again & they helped us out. The one b.s lad was called Zac big lad. If it wasn't for them we'd have come unstuck.

@@user-qy4um1db4kI liked the book it's his story from been a young Asian, casual and alot of stuff anyone from the 80s can relate to in that book, the music the clothes he don't give it the Johnny big bollox in the book or make out he was some kind of top boy anyway, it's just his story and I enjoyed reading it
@ChelseaSW6
@ChelseaSW6 2 года назад
it's a good interview and the guy seems a nice guy but I got to be honest if your talking about the 1980 s then to not mention Chelsea well that is pretty unbelievable, incredible even Chelsea's firm was right at the very top and what's even more confusing perhaps even more strange especially from someone that was involved is that everyone knew that Leicester.and Chelsea had a thing going on for year's especially when Leicester we're at Filbert Street because they never travelled to Stamford Bridge Chelsea we're up there as a firm and so to say anything other than that is total nonsense eespecially throughout the 1980 s where they would pretty much run Englands firm too, In most hooligan books they are listed as one of the main players certainly one of the biggest in numbers and certainly bigger and better than Arsenal who's time was the 1970 s and Tottenham who had a quiet period and then came in the 1990s, also not to mention either Middlesborough or Everton or Leeds is crazy too, however it was a good watch especially about the clothes, casual era best ever.

Riaz was never a proper football lad, he was a casual. As for the YTS, they were short lived football wise too but several darker skinned lads leaping out of a passing transit van to save you from a kicking, like winning the lottey
