Look at that confidence, that belief in himself (to be able to talk so intricately about what he couldn’t do). As long as he knows what he does I do not worry. He started by giving him credit. No matter how many times Tabilo beats Novak he can’t be a better player until he wins more titles. These legends( Djokovic, Nadal and Federer) are so good, as shown by their records that when they lose to players like Tabilo its perfectly reasonable and logical to give an excuse for their losses. Nadal lost in Rome simply because of injuries and age. Otherwise Hurcaz would never beat him on clay. With the number of titles Nadal has won on clay it makes sense to make this assumption. Over the years these legends have consistently beaten players stronger than Tabilo. So this loss today is no big deal. It’s just a loss on a bad day. It takes nothing away from the greatness of Novak. Even if the bottle is not an excuse for this loss,something else has to be because under normal circumstances Tabilo doesn’t have the strength,skill and consistency to beat a fully fit Novak. Kudos to Tabilo though. Wish him a great career ahead.

Damn those comments one less informed and reality based than the next one. (with exceptions) First of all, when Roger retired the big 3 era ended. Second of all, it is really foolish to write a sportsman of the caliber of Novak, Rafa, Roger as well as many others off at any point. They are animals with decades of experience or clearer self-knowledge. Thirdly, yes it is indeed unlikely that the bottle incident has been the major reason for the rather poor performance by his standards, however, we can't know for sure. But if we look at it from a bit more distance, it seems that Novak has some mental issues since it is clear that he is the most successful player of all time and nobody is probably born yet, who could even dream of breaking his grand slam record. But it wouldn't be the first time he reinvents himself! The GOAT discussion is, was and will always be rubbish. Why? Because Greatness doesn't has just to do with numbers. Yeah Novak is a great guy and deserves respect as all the others! And so on and so forth...

How about retiring gracefully just like what Steffi Graf did after being runner up of Wimbledon 1999 despite she was still no. 3 and was qualified to WTA Finals 1999 as she was only 30?

@@wimzswimz9843 I swear people like you are funny. Did you say something like this, you hypocrite, when Federer's results worsened and he lost to Tsitsipas, Goffin, and Millman, and he was older than Novak? Did you say this about Nadal, who has been completely out of service for two years?
@MalekAhmed-kz3zu
@MalekAhmed-kz3zu 4 месяца назад
@@wimzswimz9843 By the way, Novak was runner-up at Wimbledon last year to a guy 16 years younger than him, but he did not retire like Steffi Graf. Why? Because Steffi Graf already almost lost to Martina Hingis at Roland Garros as well, and she would not have had any chance with young players like Davenport, Hingis, and the Williams sisters, and she knew that very well. But Novak is a fighter, and he came back and beat Alcaraz in Cincinati and won the title, then he won the US Open, then he won Paris, then he won the ATP Finals claiming his 7th title there (a record), beating Alcaraz a second time, and concluded the season as the first seed for the 8th year ( another record). This is the big difference that makes you angry with Novak and you wish him to retire so as not to increase his records. But you are hypocrites and haters and nothing more, so provide preaching and advice to your players

I noticed 2 new persons in Novak's team and I do not think it is smart to exchange important team members as he has had so much success with Ivanisevic etc. I think he will easily loose easy in Rolland Garros, I dont think he understands what his problem is but I could clearly notice that he is not fast enough and Tabilo is not bad on clay. Novak had obvious problems in his matches this year and he has breathing problems and loose rather easily in 2 sets to Ruud, and you could also notice it is tis match that he was slooow, and serves badly. He had some diarea just a few weeks ago someone said. He has problems with his diet is something I have heard as well. Who knows really?!

His biggest mistake before he got his head hit by the bottle, he played so bad in Indian Wells and skipped a couple of ATP Masters. As a result, he no longer has any point to cover the points of Roland Garros champion last year. Not only that, Djokovic's loss make people less interested of posting Djokovic's every week at no. 1 on facebook. Moreover i've already calculated that he has 428 weeks at no. 1. Anyway, is there any player from both ATP and WTA to break his record up to 500 weeks? I'm waiting for the next 10-20 years later

I was there and I'm Italian. People loved him there (not me). The guy that caused the accident is an idiot, but in no way he was representative. So keep your f***ing racist comments to yourself. And Nole didn't quit, he lost, as it is happening since 2004. As he said right in this interview, he doesn't know if the accident has something to do with his performance. Doctors will run tests and then anybody will make their (informed) opinion.
@paolofazzini6460

What bad behavior? I was there and everyone was chearing for him. The guy that caused the accident was careless and should be punished, but why should he be considered more representative than all the people in the stadium? And another thing: he didn't quit, he lost, like he lost all the tournements since the Davis cup. Finally if the bottle accident had a consequence on today's result (as Djokovic himself say) is yet to be demonstrated. My congrats for your accurate and intelligent comment.

People don't realize at 37, you CAN'T have years where you don't perform. Because once you come down you aren't going back to the level you were at before. Seems as if Djokovic is on pace to have the same type of season Federer did in 2019. That's probably where he is, and his run could very well be over. Too many young guns coming up with game.

I remember Roger Federer was 37-38 years old but he was still in top 10 by winning GS, ATP Masters, ATP 500 and 250. You can see Federer's titles in 2018-2019 so he was always qualified to ATP Finals. That's why he was still top 10 until he was 40 years old. Maybe Djokovic can take him an example once his body condition no longer supports him to play GS that requires 3-5 sets to win
