We're trying to keep some of the vintage electronics out of the landfill. Many times when something stops working, it can be repaired if someone will simply take the time to attempt to repair it. This channel documents our amateur attemps at repairing vintage electronics we think are cool.
We don't typically restore anything, we're just trying to get them working again. We've found that most of this stuff was well built and with a little help will start doing what it was intended to do.

Panasonic and Sony were the best brands back in the day. GE Super radios were higher end early on also.

I could tell it was from the 80's when the first thing it wanted to play was Michael Jackson.

I've seen a couple more around since I got this one but I can't buy them all. I think some of them are probably getting canned unfortunately...

You don't need the telescope antenna for AM but you might want to turn your lights off to reduce the interference.

I believe Matsushita is pronounced matt-shoe-sta

Exactly I don't understand how people get Schusta there is clearly an i in the name@@hestheMaster

@@danielknepper6884 I always thought it was a four syllable word so I looked it up and I am right.

@@hestheMasterdon't get me started on the techniques versus Technics. 😅. I have physically watched a video from the 80s from Technics and they pronounced it techniques. But the bozos still insist that it's not pronounced that way😅😅😅

Never, never plug an older radio into the wall "to see if it works". EVER!

I do it quite often and so does most everyone. If it has a cord on it, plug it in.

@AmateurRepairTime I just meant to use a variac or dim bulb test. If there is a short the device can fail catastrophically
@AmateurRepairTime
@AmateurRepairTime 6 месяцев назад
This is a fairly modern transistor radio, I don't think anybody uses a variac on one of these. Let's not get cray cray now come on people
