Yea, I came off a 2016 Beta 300RR so I'm actually losing some low end torque lol. I'm mostly just trying to get used to the controls still is my biggest thing. Namely getting used to how / where the clutch engages. First gear wheelies are still a little messy lol. I've got 6 hours on mine now, already a lot more comfortable than the first 2-3 hours though for sure. Also I need to mess with my jetting I think, as well as idle speed, I'm stalling this thing all the damn time in the real technical tight stuff. I notice your idle is a good deal higher than mine, which I think is more where I need to be at.
funny tho , the lack of bottom helped in heaps of very slow stuff where you need to pull away gripping not spinning , have a true enduro weapon Ag100 if things get serious , need to do a video on that aswell thats worth a laugh
Hope you really enjoy it and hope I will too. Just sold my ‘18 250x and plan on buying a 300 XC-W. The only question is which year.... ‘18 or wait for the ‘19 hmm
this is a exc , 300 has much more grunt than the yz ever will . the ktm chassis feels better in the slow terrain , the yz did like to lug a little lower in the rpm , the yz chassis is a bit better when you are going faster and the suspension is more planted , over all im happy i made the change , makes things a bit eaiser in our terrain
Can’t say I’m not bummed you went orange...but totally get why you did!! 😀 It was so much fun watching a blue bike killing it!! Look forward to watching more from you!!! I think the first bike I buy will still be blue...🤪 maybe?!
Main reason . Electric start , Kick start was really getting old just makes it so much more user friendly with e start , and who does not like a bit more grunt . yeah good sofar very different ride , think the yz handled a bit better in the front end at speed , but the ktm will be eaiser to ride over a day , sure over a faster trail ride the yz would be better . but we mainly ride gnarly so does not bother me
no the ktm is great , and for what we ride its more suited than the yz was , so it depends on what terrain you ride and if you need what the ktm has , engine is sooo nice , brakes are better , yz handles a bit better in front end ,
short story get the ktm , you want a 17 to current model with the new engine , ktm suspension is a little softer but works totally different in a good way
It is just the ktm is so expensive, especially for my age and also it has more power which I am a little scared about (only 14 years old) so you dont think there is and seat height difference?? many people say Yamaha is better for smaller riders
Hey I just bought a 2018 KTM 250 exc. Couple of questions, apart from the hand guards have you made any other mods ? and are you still running the Maxxis tyres ?
